  1. Her own fault. Never, ever say anything on social media that you wouldn't want your boss to see. Harsh lesson. Maybe worth spending a few quid speaking to a specialist solicitor over this, but I wouldn't spend too much.
  2. Gotcha. So 050A in 225/45 and 245/45, correct? It'll be down to your right foot. You're used to massive tyres on the rear, and sometimes even moving up a grade in tyre quality won't make up for the lack of width. You had the car set up for understeer, and now it's more neutral it'll feel like oversteer to you. Best to relearn your technique I reckon, you'll appreciate it more and have a nimbler car in the long run
  3. Well, I did say I would've gone for the Michelins myself!
  4. So you're running 050As all round now, albeit with a reduced rear width? What width are you running on the front? My 050As are very acceptable on the 911, and they were great on my bro's HR in stock Ray sizes.
  5. It is on the ZZW30. They don't often fail though.
  6. Stop it! Make him post in the right thread, goddammit! Mods! Where the hell are all the mods?!
  7. I hate myself for saying this, but that looks alright actually
  8. Sod. That. I freakin' hate needles. Good luck dude, keep us updated!
  9. I mentally class anything over 200bhp/ton as quick. I think my 911 is about 256 per ton, which I still think is seriously rapid on UK roads. Stuff like the GT-R is just mental quick.
  10. I mean that the 'Old cars' thread is the sticky at the top of this forum, and you should probably post your pics there
  11. The "Sweet! What does mine say?" "Dude! What does mine say?" scene in Dude, Where's My Car? is one of the most memorable ones in Ashton Kutcher's entire career. You're now quoting that scene in your head, too!
  12. Sorry, you said you had a torque wrench so I assumed you used one.
  13. IT'S THE STICKY AT THE TOP OF THIS BLOODY FORUM
  14. There's an aisle for Polish food in my local Tesco.
  15. Curb weight of a 370GT is actually 1526kg, taken from the Nissan UK website.
  16. Lol I hope you don't do your wheel nuts to that spec, they do have a torque value of their own! I would fit the spacer with the same torque as the wheel nuts, i.e. 115Nm or 85 ft lbs.

    968 would be a good car, also a 928 with the V8

Come to think of it, you may well be right as that's ringing bells. The only reason I never held onto mine was in case I twisted the frame which could cause the glass to shatter, but I may be wrong on it being structural at all. Exige glass is the same as Elise & VX glass AFAIK though, unless they updated it for the launch of the MY10 Exige and that's more of a nickname than anything.

Might be a G35 I was on about then The 4 door 350Z thing that's pig ugly. Almost always in silver. 3-series of some kind would be my choice. Not going to keep harping on about the VX thing, but the windscreen is the same toughened glass as any other windscreen ever. The surround is part of the roll over protection too, so incredibly strong. The R33 and Celica are very old cars in terms of crash protection, and cabin intrusion will be much worse than with the ally tub like-for-like. Seating position front to back death stats may be correct, but I bet they apply equally for adults as they do for kids. I'm not trying to be argumentative on purpose (purely by accident! ), but the truth is that you wouldn't drive as hard with a kid in the car as you would if there were adults, so you're immediately less likely to have an accident that's your fault. You'll never be able to account for the idiocy of others though, regardless of what you're driving. If safety is your worry, then I'd get something as big and as modern as possible like an SUV.

Sorry, the VX guys are right. The Elise tub is incredibly safe, more so than the R33 or Celica you mention. G37?
  21. You know you're singing that now in your head
  22. Bruce Springsteen was born in the USA.
  23. Not if you assume both drivers are giving it full beans. If they're doing 50-70 tests in 4th gear then fair point, but not at redline with WOT. It's top end figures that are really dictated by power and aero, as well as gearing. Most normal fun stuff is only geared/powered to around 160. Watch this week's Harris 991TT vs 12C vid for proof of just how much difference power makes when you get out of the realms of 'normal' speed.
