  1. GoW wasn't a 360 launch game, it didn't come out until almost exactly a year later. At launch you had stuff like PGR3, CoD2 and NFS:MW. Hardly a must-have game there either!
  2. Forza is lush, and Clarkson isn't as annoying as I expected (we get Clarkson the journo instead of a Clarkson the oaf). Ryse is genuinely good fun. Not deep, but fun. Not played the others yet. Apps and snapping work very well. Kinect needs less space than even I thought. It's silent in operation. Games can be played after as little as 5% installed. Takes an age to install fully though, and you cannot install from disc and download at the same time. It's a delight to use. I cannot fathom the hate for it from some quarters, I really can't.
  3. Sweet Jesus Ryse looks amazing!
  4. Kinect works about 90% for me right now, however I'm having to whisper as I don't want to risk waking wifey so I'll forgive it for now. Incredibly slick stuff, using codes is so stupidly easy now it's unreal.
  5. Got it 500MB initial download, only took a couple of mins, Xbone is just restarting then I'm good to go. Controller seems very good, lighter than I thought, and the box itself really doesn't look that big next to my Sky box or AVR.
  6. Not northern, but Walshy does some great experience days at North Weald (Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911 Turbo, Audi R8, Aston Martin DB9, Maserati Gran Turismo, Lotus Elise). I'd go with him any day over others, although 6th Gear (Simon George's lot) would be a close second.
  7. I'd buy part worms over ditchfinders. Or Toyos.
  8. I might shave my head before I leave the house.
  9. Hadn't realised you'd not entered mate, I have to say absolute much respect for that as your car would be an absolute shoe-in otherwise
  10. I have a question: How do I get from the shop to the car without being mugged??!! A game can be hid in a coat, but a whole console? Tonight? It'll be pretty obvious what's in the bag, so what do I do? Semi-serious question.
  11. Resistance is futile Less than 3.5 hrs to go, cannot wait!
  12. Oh god please not the Daily Fail Terrible service, just glad you caught it on film.
  13. Yeah, I want to go back next year with the MR2. Hopefully we can avoid the snow this time though!
  14. I have no idea what you mean with that first line, autocorrect fail? Also good point about Spa, I'm the same!
  15. I would actually be very comfortable with that. Jim knows his stuff, has a good eye and can separate friendships from what is best for the greater good.
  16. It always is though. I can think of four months last year where the popular forum member won over the better pic. There is no easy way around it, apart from getting me to choose the pics as that's the only way I'll be satisfied (!), however Jim has shown excellent vision in how the calendar is put together and I trust his decision implicitly.
  17. Not saying that any of those cars don't deserve to be on there, but only if the pic merits it. Again, a good shot of a stock DE would be better than a dull pic of the green beastie, no offence meant Keyser. Perhaps a rule that if you were in the last calendar, you won't be considered for this one? Keeps it fresh and stops the same people being in it every year.
  18. There's too many cars on here who are easily identified: Wasso, Keyser, Buster, Octet, Ebized, all easy to spot.
  19. Do it as a surprise, and do it based on quality of the picture NOT how much money has the owner spent adding that to the outside of their car. A well-shot stock Zed in a thoughtful location would be better as a calendar pic than one of a Zed with a huge body kit on riding on 20" wheels shot in a generic car park with some graffiti around. The calendar has become something of a popularity contest in recent times, rather than quality pics of quality cars.
