Olly's facelifted GT. Sun burn, shows and new exhaust!
HEADPHONES replied to Olly350z's topic in Member Build Projects
Those nuts look......well....THE NUTS Together with those slotted discs they make the wheels look even more tasty The OEM+ look is definitely a success. Just gave my Nismo rims a clean and seal today and despite having them for 10years I never feel the need for a change. -
The download the list of codes that Superstu put up here to see what's going on
-
Until you get a code reader use the pedal dance to get codes. I bought this which saves alot of faffing about with the pedals https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/MS309-OBD2-Scanner-DiagnosticTool-Code-Reader-MaxiScan-Autel-Car-Tester-fo12/272838806097?hash=item3f8675ca51:g:rvsAAOSwBT9Zsk0D

My fully stretched belly and I wish you all a Merry Christmas. Eat responsibility everyone. One mouthful too many is all it takes
-
Definitely make your zed look one of a kind too

Helped me with airbag and O2 caused EML glitches reset. Saves me alot of faffing with the pedal dance. So the MaxiScan MS309 gets a from me

So Stealth & Classy So rare I bet people mistake it for a limited edition exotic. I wish I had one for long family trips when we need to carry the 2 kids.

I've had my zed 12 years now and am fortunate in having a good relationship with my independent garage thats been looking after our cars for 10yrs. They even try and source 2nd hand parts where it's an option. However, I know what you're saying about running costs. The consumables on our 11 Ur old Mini Cooper are verging on freeness in comparison to the zed. As it runs on diddy 15 inch OEM rims, the skinny tyres can be replaced for the price of one of the 19' rears of the zed It may not be in the same league as the zed but I still enjoy hooting around in it. I think the only time where I'd really say there's no joy is overtaking and joining motorways. So a downgrade need not be a life of misery. Got a friend with a stage 3 tuned R35 who used a £700 Ford Puma for commuting and loved how chuckable and worry free it was to own. Just the worries of buying a lemon as with any 2nd hand car though!

https://youtu.be/fl7ON1wnUlM Use the pedal dance above to delete and reset the ecu warning light. O2 sensor has thrown a wobbler about 5 or 6 times on my zed over the past 10 years. Luckily it's just been a glitch and runs fine for years before arising again. Obviously if the reset doesn't work there may be an underlying problem that needs fixing before the light will go out without returning.

Glad you've found a nice zed and found us on the OC. Feel free to post pics of your R33 for us to enjoy

Wow......that arch rust from a tiny pinprick! Did they say pinprick was from the paint surface or underneath the arch? -
Looks like it's a pleasure to detail that Zed with the paint looking in great shape. I like the cheeky Mini lurking in the reflection too

Every couple months I top up 2 of our cars that my wife uses infrequently with this..... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00DW6RHN2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1512419632&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=aa+car+battery+charger&dpPl=1&dpID=51etw-dJujL&ref=plSrch Never left on indefinitely in maintenance mode. More hook it up for a day and let it top up to max then return and unhook it when the indicator shows its in trickle mode. Even charged up the zed when it was totally flat after forgetting to switch off the interior lights for a week! Cheap and cheerful bit still good after 2 yrs of regular use.

Congratulations on your acquisition. We need pics :b

Pick up my 370z next weekend...
HEADPHONES replied to tspar's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
The weekend is nearly here! I bet you'll be struggling to sleep with the excitement. Like a kid on Christmas Eve  Hope the weather is good for you this weekend -
Welcome to the OC. It's amazing how your white tyre lettering totally transforms the look of the Rays. Mean and purposeful. To quote SuperStu....."racecar"!

Sorry to hear of your loss. You can instantly see from that beautiful photo how much love there is there between you and your dad. My daughter is only 9 and the joy it brings having a common interest with her is immense. I can only imagine how proud and happy your dad must have been to be able to have you close by to share those special moments. I just hope my daughter will remain as close with me when she grows up as you two were.

Mine turned out to be a a failed "clock spring" thingymajig near the steering wheel.
-
I remember hearing about adjusting the actual latch in the tailgate a while back.......unless I'm dreaming :b Good luck anyway
-
Try removing the counterbalance weight under the trim of the tailgate. That may give the spring poppers less work to do when popping the boot past the latch.
-
When I bought my zed new, all was good. 2 yrs later and the gas struts failed almost decapitated me on loading the boot. Nissan replacement under warranty looked thicker than the original ones. Now 10 yrs with the new struts and they are starting to lose strength in winter. However, the boot started to need double clicking to open after about yr 4 or 5 of ownership despite struts being good. Then, double clicking didn't work and I needed to click with one hand and lift with the other. Tried this link https://youtu.be/e4fkqew1828 Perfect.......even has a link to the perfect rubber washers on Amazon. A year or so later......back to square one Now I just live with it. It's no biggy to me. Kinda like being married to a fantastic fit wife for 12 years who lets one rip infront of you. Yeah......on a first date you'd be like WHOA....WTF! After 12 yrs you'd be like "NO WORRIES, IT'S ALL GOOD"

The zed is looking mighty fine in those photos.

Congratulations on finding a lovely Zed and finding your way onto the OC.
