  1. When I bought my zed new, all was good. 2 yrs later and the gas struts failed almost decapitated me on loading the boot. Nissan replacement under warranty looked thicker than the original ones. Now 10 yrs with the new struts and they are starting to lose strength in winter. However, the boot started to need double clicking to open after about yr 4 or 5 of ownership despite struts being good. Then, double clicking didn't work and I needed to click with one hand and lift with the other. Tried this link https://youtu.be/e4fkqew1828 Perfect.......even has a link to the perfect rubber washers on Amazon. A year or so later......back to square one Now I just live with it. It's no biggy to me. Kinda like being married to a fantastic fit wife for 12 years who lets one rip infront of you. Yeah......on a first date you'd be like WHOA....WTF! After 12 yrs you'd be like "NO WORRIES, IT'S ALL GOOD"
  2. The zed is looking mighty fine in those photos.
  3. Congratulations on finding a lovely Zed and finding your way onto the OC.
  4. Exchanged cheerful waves as we passed each other in traffic.
  5. Can't beat sunset orange paint at night under the lights.......glows like it's on fire!
  6. I've had my zed 12 years now and have had the EML come on about 4 times due to getting 02 sensor fault. I think it was always P1146. Anyway....... I've always cleared the code with the pedal dance initially but the last time using my cheapo code reader. No doubt it will arise again in a few years! As long as it doesn't become persistent after code clearing, I'd put it down to a glitch. Ps. My zed has no engine/exhaust mods.

Love everything about your zed. From bodywork to wheels to audio. If I didn't already have a sunset I'd buy yours
  8. Looking good. Matches your seats perfectly.
  9. A friend of mine used to run an R35 on weekends and a Leaf to commute during the week. He could drive from Warrington to Manchester and back. BUT During the winter he'd drive without the heaters on in case he'd run out of juice to get home! Hat and scarf worked for him.
  10. Congratulations on your new acquisition. Looking good. Always liked these. The fact you can say "I drive a G!" is just a bonus
  11. Really liking your ride. The mods transform the front end perfectly. Almost think Nissan should have shipped them from the factory looking like that
  12. As far as I am aware, a 0w30 and 5w30 will have the same viscosity at working temps. At very cold start up the 0w30 will flow better than 5w30. But you only see this advantage at below freezing temperatures so some would say the price premium may not be necessary as UK winters rarely hit such lows. I can't imagine any adverse difference, only positive ones where temps are below freezing

  14. Congratulations on you getting a zed. You've already done the best thing a zed owner can do in finding the OC Just remember the basics. Run on premium unleaded 98/99 If you have to use 95ron don't rev it hard past say 4.5k or risk detonation. Then use 98/99 asap after. Keep an eye on oil levels as with any car. Mixing different tyres front and back may make the handling less predictable. Now it's winter, be careful when using your boot. The gas struts are often weak and the tailgate may drop like a guillotine while you are loading/unloading the boot

The strongest tar remover I know of is TARDIS. This is what I'd try if the megs didn't touch it.
