  1. Welcome to Zed ownership. Look out for me in South Manchester in my sunset orange coupe
  2. If you're a Costco member, keep an eye out for their 20% off Castrol sale about twice a year. You'll end up paying about £27 incl vat for 4 litres of Castrol Edge. Our 3 cars need about 5 cans a year for servicing so the savings can add up to quite a bit
  3. I've been using Castrol Edge 5w30 for years in my zed.
  4. Looking really good. Sets off the zed a treat. So tasty it's given me a craving for "skittles" ........taste the rainbow In fact I'd go as far as to say I prefer it to Midnight Purple as it's brighter
  5. After 9 years the original metal valves that came with my LMGT4s were starting to corrode and one was leaking. So 16 months ago I found a tyre place to replace all the valves using the standard rubber ones. They were great and used their rim friendly megamount smart machine to leave my rims pristine as shown below. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/104715-rim-friendly-manchester-tyre-services/ But the new valves are perishing and cracking already! Any recommendations for sourcing valves separately? I've got 6mm tread on fronts and 4mm on rears so maybe just using their regular ones will last till tyre change. But I only do about 2-3 k miles a year so don't want to have to go through the hassle of changing the valves yet again before new tyres.
  6. Picked up my zed and saw yet another zed there! I wonder if there are any other garages in Manchester that see as many zeds as they do.
  7. Dropped my zed off for MOT and service and saw your zed in the MOT bay looking nice and fresh
  8. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=393943 I know we shouldn't laugh at newbie questions but this really cracked me up Power tools plus newbieness can be a dangerous combination!
  9. This helped me in the original post you linked to. Although a little clean and reattaching sorted my problem initially, the old switch failed a year or two later and I put the new one in. But definitely try the fluid levels first
  10. Birthday. Bank holiday weekend. Got to be a good day ahead
  11. ....or you could just get a 2015 Honda Civic Type R at nearly $300,000rm which equates to about £60k! https://m.carlist.my/recon-cars/2015-latest-honda-civic-2-0-type-r-4-door-unreg-ready-stock/3147318/
  12. http://www.nissan.com.my/vehicles/almera-nismo I was looking at cars for sale in Malaysia and saw this. For those saying the new Type R is fully, prepare to feel your eyeballs burn
  13. It's only about a fiver for the syringe and tubing delivered to my door. Probably take me 5-10 mins to sort. Not worth the time and petrol going back to the garage. Plus they're a good garage I've been going to for 10 years and it's just a few mm over the max mark.
  14. Cheers ......so that's 2 cars I have with crappy dipsticks then
  15. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B015MLB9BU/ref=ya_st_dp_summary Ordered the above syringe and tubing to remove overfilled engine oil. Is there anything I could mess up or is it as simple as I think, tube down dipstick hole then suck away The wife's Mini came back from a service and oil level is about 3mm above the max line.
  16. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/116115-twingo-gt-turbo-for-sale/#entry1726028 How about this for a run around. GT Turbo in a name always sounds good. With a turbo already in place should keep mods easier. Known history. Hopefully won't become too much of a project car leaving more time to enjoy the TT zeds
  17. It's same on mine and most other zeds with the self closing doors. It's the self closing tailgate that you've got to watch out for when the gas struts start failing! When my original struts failed about 9 years ago it nearly chopped my head off. On cold days it is starting to drop again. I still haven't got round to removing the boot weight. The added weight of the Nismo spoiler doesn't help either.
  18. Dropped our Mini off at 8am and saw your zed with shiny red brembos. I'm back there with my Zed for a service next week.
  19. How's about this for one in a million. I know a guy who's old Ford Galaxy got nicked. Worthless money wise as it was nearly 20yrs old but raised his kids in it and very attached to it. His friend spotted it parked up months later and they got it back!
  20. I remember when i first discovered a clay bar, by the time i washed, rinsed, used the clay bar, washed the lube off and rinsed again......I ran out of daylight and couldn't polish/wax. Had to wash and rinse again the next day before preparation for waxing etc
  21. If you don't have the time to use a clay bar then glaze and wax......A clay mitt will save you 30-60 mins compared to traditional clay. You can use thick shampoo as lube for peanuts too.
  22. I got myself a MaxiScan 309 code reader on the recommendation of Jay at a Cheshire Castle meet. Today I was cleaning the car mats and must've jogged the underseat connector. Hey presto. Flashing airbag light. Perfect opportunity to try out my code reader. But no codes were detected Is that because the management light didn't come on or is my reader faulty? Anyway.....Good old trusty ignition on off dance and all is well again. I actually keep this YouTube video on a playlist along with other useful zed videos
