  1. Mighty fine chariot you have there sir. Welcome to the OC.
  2. I thought I'd prefer the tighter more accurate sound of a sealed subwoofer, but in this case, the downward firing one with the additional passive radiator is more to my taste as it gives a boost like a ported sub for us bass heads😄. So the sealed one now lives in my Kia.
  3. So after 20 years ownership I finally added more bass to my 350z. To be honest, with the EQ adding extra bass from my aftermarket JVC headunit, the stock Bose sub was 80% to 90% satisfactory for my needs. I was wary upgrading due to past tinnitus from previous cars where I installed 12 and 15 inch subs........young and dumb back then I had a 600w Alpine mini block amp fitted in both my Zed and my Kia Sportage. I then purchased 2 Kicker subs A compact sealed 12 inch with 88db sensitivity, and a 12 inch with an additional 12 inch passive radiator with an 98db sensitivity. Both fit in the Zed boot nicely, with the sealed one giving me more boot space. Amp is fitted under the floor of the glove box behind the passenger seat. OEM 10 inch is still active with the crossover set to let the new sub just fill in the lows the BOSE can't reach. However, the sound in my Kia is better despite not having an OEM sub. If I adjust the crossover to allow the new sub to be more noticeable, the overlap with the Bose sub introduced an unpleasant mid bass peak. I'm planning to get my installer to fit a switch to disable/enable the stock Bose 10" for times when I need a full empty boot.
  4. If the defect isn't too big you might be able to get a good repair with Granville Sealant
  5. Try THIS. Just had this happen to me. I drilled my valve out while I await a new one from eBay as I had ZERO water coming through.
  6. 18" Forged wheels ......by RAYS.......WITH TYRES for £400 is a bargain! GLWTS
  7. Looks like about 20 confirmed for this so far! Looking forward to this😁
  8. Welcome to the OC
  9. Welcome to the OC. Good to hear there are people still willing and able to show these cars some love. Post up pics of your Zed's journey to inspire others👍
  10. After 20 years ownership, my clutch finally surrendered after it's last "send" at the M6 toll gate. It all started well. Windows down as I tapped to pay the toll fee. Barrier went up. Revved her up and dumped the clutch and we were off. Smiling like a Cheshire Cat as she took off , VQ trumpeting away sweetly through my Scorpion exhaust. Changed to 2nd..... Revs climbing sweetly Reached for 3rd......WTF! Was as if I was Captain Kirk with Scotty telling me "The dilithium crystals are smoking.......she canny take any more Captain" Smelt that nasty burning clutch smell and it just wouldn't hook up. Tried 4th gear.....NADA. Tried 5th then 6ht.....NADA. Just revved with no power. After a couple seconds she finally engaged 6th and I cruised her gently back to Manchester. It had had the odd slip before anyway so I bit the bullet and had a new clutch, dual mass flywheel, slave and master cylinder fitted. Garage told me it was a nightmare it was to bleed. Drove home and after 30 min the clutch pedal wouldn't come back up without me flicking it back up with my foot. Back it went to the garage. Pedal felt 90% better but again garage said they struggled to get any pedal feels at all to begin with and they "think" it's good but to bring it back if any problems......very confidence inspiring....NOT Alas, same story. After spirited driving for 15in I lost pedal feel. So I returned to the garage again armed with some tips from @davey_83 and another zed friend. The garage was amazed...... INSTANT SUCCESS 1. Was to pre fill the slave cylinder with fluid. 2 Was to bleed the clutch using the attached guide Hope this helps people who have similar bleeding woes.
  11. Welcome back to the OC. Alot of O.G members names being mentioned which brings back so many good memories. I remember the the old days with the "other" forum headed by Giles and his NA tuned 350z. I actually joined there first and moved to here about a year later when Giles got an R35 and they changed to "Nissansprtz" I've seen my Zed forum experience change over 2 decades from the heady excitement hearing everyone's experience with "Collinite" car wax, importing Nismo LMGT4 wheels on group buys via member/traders like ESR. Now as I squint trying to type this as I can't find my reading glasses I'm more reading about people's battles with rot and rust........ failing parts, and how hard a time new members are having trying to find a half decent 350z to buy. THE JOYS OF GETTING OLD

  13. That's a rare colour. Great find👌
  14. I'm guilty of not checking in as often as I used to. I try to attend more meets now though. Was nice bumping intol some club members at last year's Torqen meet. Looking forward to seeing people at Japfest next week.
  15. Be thankful you don't have one of those multi spoke designs😬😂
  16. I was literally looking on Auto trader and saw a white MK1 in Bradford for 13k. Is that your mates car?
  17. The rims didn't look to bad from afar but whenever I parked next to @SHEZZAat a meet, his LMGT4s always put mine to shame particularly the barrels😄. Only had time to do the driver's side and not around the lug nuts. But hey ho......just do what you can do is my motto.
  18. These rims have been run daily for 18 years. Up until about 5 years ago I used to take them off the car every year or two and give them the full monty. Shampoo. Rinse and dry. Tar remover. Rinse and dry. Fallout remover. Wash. Clay bar. Rinse and dry. Then Gtechniq C5. I never have a whole day free anymore so on Friday I took a short cut. Shampoo rinse and dry. Then just Autoglym SRP. Followed by a quick coat with TW Hybrid Sealant Wax spray. I took the failing lacquer off the diamond cut lips about 2-3 years ago using paint stripper sprayed onto a brush then brushing on. Just washing weekly with some regular spray sealant and the odd quick going over with SRP or AF Tripple seems to negate the need for re lacquer.
  19. Loving the rear spoiler. Welcome back. So how do split your driving between the 2 Zeds? Seeing as I have 2 kids, I was thinking it's only fair if I leave them one Zed each so possibly need to have another.......not being greedy or anything.......just to maintain the fairness 🤣
  20. Now that's what you call a man cave😎👌. I'm always paranoid about my clutch. Not giving any problems yet but 20 yea6 on the original clutch and 93k miles is not confidence inspiring 🤣 Glad to see your zed back in good health. Hope to see you all again at Japfest in a couple months 👍
  21. My Zed is 20yrs old this year too.
  22. A very tidy and classy looking Zed you have acquired. Hope you can attend some of our meets. I so regret not participating more iny younger years. I used to be put off by the long drive to some of these, but if you have a local member also attending, you get the added benefit of a mini convoy and pre meet
  23. I'm with eSure. Due for renewal next week. Gone down from £317 to £313 fully comp. 20+ yrs no claims. eSure doesn't come up with comparethemarket, or confused comparison sites which were a good 30% more expensive!
  24. Congratulations on acquiring a Zed If you're located near the Midlands, the team at Tarmacsportz can supply and fit most things Zed related. Top bunch of guys there who are also Zed owners 👍
  25. Gonna try this tomorrow
