My First Car show - What is 'allowed' ?

Recommended Posts

hi,

so got my first couple of shows coming up, and im on the stand. woop :)

but, what is deemed 'acceptable' when it comes to a clean show car.

im completely new to this, so dont bite my head off for any ignorance i have, because i am ignorant on this topic.

so,

general cleaning of the wheels: is it expected that the whole allow is spotless, i.e, the inner wheel too? or just the spokes and rims? because to get the insides., its a wheel off jobby.

paint chips - my front end is peppered. how many before its a show stopper (boo, bad pun).

Engine bay - how detailed does peopels detailing get?

etc, etc. any other gotchas i need to worry about?

its my first time, i dont want to turn up looking like a complete bellend who hasnt met set standards, but its also a fdaily driver and not a dedicated OCD show car.

thanks

1. Spend 8 hours the day before cleaning car

2. Watch it rain overnight

3. Car gets filthy on way to show

4. Bring QD & MFs with you

5. Attempt to clean as best you can

6. Realise no-one gives a rat's ass

7. Get on with actually enjoying yourself

Never mind the car Pritchard, ...have you sorted out the car show girls yet?

You must bring at least one although the more the better really < the opposite goes for clothing ~ the less the better.

Also if you can get enough to totally obscure your car from view then your quids in as you don't even need to clean it then. ;) Winning.

If you are referring to Incarnation as one of the shows it's not that serious at all. You only have to look at some of the cars there last year in the Ford club. There was a 1999 Focus with his plastic hubs painted pink and that was the extent of his show car. Nobody will be remotely interested in inspecting your rims or anything else that closely. Its chance to catch up with friends and park on Brighton seafront free of charge all day.. Don't expect to win any big trophies of cash prizes either...
