New whip, its quite fast.

So after 7 odd years of owning my 350 I decided it was time for something newer, faster and generally better ...........

So I went and got this:

Its an N54 (twin turbo) 135i thats had a few bits chucked at it - Bilstein suspension, M3 wishbones & tension struts, M3 front ARB, 335i rear ARB, uprated brakes, subframe bushes, exhaust trickery and has also had turbos, wastegates, VANOS, cams and followers, injectors, clutch and coilpacks all replaced under warranty. Oh, and theres this too:

Thats a "safe" map, coz obviously 515 lb/ft of torque at just over 3K RPM is "safe", even safer when you are running Nankang NS-2R tyres in December.

Its positively insane to drive, up there with the fast stuff Ive ever driven - spinning wheels in 4th at 110, reaching over 160 (on a private road of course) with another gear to go, making you resent your mind about where a braking point actually is (youre going 60mph faster than you usually are) and I bloody love it :D

Ive been waiting for a while for one to come up and all I can say is that it was well worth it, if you ever see me ask for a ride as you wont regret it

The plate stayed with the old owner so you can do one :p

Sounds realy nice, not loud but a sweet straight 6 that gets racier as you get up the revs - Ive done my time with the loud looking and sounding thing, I wanted something a bit more low profile now. People still get out of the way on Motorways pretty quickly, and it still draws some glances but nothing like the old one did.

Cant get over the speed of the thing though, its not one youd let just anyone drive

Great choice in car and one that was in my radar after the 650i before had to release some funds and got the 350z instead. One day will have one of these 😄

Love the look of BM's - always have done, but as soon as I get inside - I feel nothing for them at all ..!! - having said that, I've not been in a 420+ hp one :) :) and I am sure I would get over my lack of enthusiasm for the interior look pretty quickly too :D - V Nice motor.

The plate says "retard" to me when I read it in my head

I took it as Red Head!

Super car, great numbers, must be hard not to just stick your foot down regularly!

Congrats on the car, almost identical mods to my 335i, must be a mental machine in this weather…

There definitely needs to be a BMW sub forum on here :p

Stick some aftermarket back boxes on and it doesn't sound half bad :)
