Rock_Steady Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Sarah cox, Radio 2 " it is with great honour to announce that, David Bowie is dead". with great honour? You can't prefix the death of someone with "great honour", you can play his music in honour of his death but not announce with honour surely? Quote
coldel Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Shocked. Just shocked, didn't see that one coming. Quote
-Bradders- Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 only watched the labyrinth the other day too! cool guy from what i heard of his songs! 1 Quote
-G- Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) Sarah Cox is an idiot on the best of days. Why not the worst? I'm gutted, frankly. :-( Edited January 11, 2016 by -G- 1 Quote
Tricky-Ricky Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Sad news, RIP Ziggy, makes you feel old when all the pop idols you grew up with start to pass away. Quote
Stutopia Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 RIP DB. A proper, nailed on, no mis-use of the word LEGEND. Quote
Ekona Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I suspect Cox was just as shocked as we are, and simply mixed up her words. Human error, easily done when given the responsibility of announcing something like that. 1 Quote

Linus27 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Musical genius and a legend for sure. Odd that I was thinking about him and the song Ashes to Ashes as I was falling asleep last night only to be woken up by the radio this morning announcing his death. Very talented artist. Quote
Wendy Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 What horrible news to receive today. RIP David Bowie He was the music of my youth. So glad I got to the brilliant V & A Exhibition of his works last year. A great loss. Just in shock and listening to the great artist all day. Quote
JetSet Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Not a great fan, only have the one L.P of his "Station to Station", liked some of his earlier stuff though. A sad loss nonetheless, RIP David Bowie. Pete Quote
HaydnH Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I saw him at the Isle of Wight festival ages ago, the Libertines cancelled as Pete Doherty was wasted as usual so the organisers moved the band between them and Bowie forward and decided to put the England Euro game on... needless to say England lost and Bowie had to come on to a crowd ofgrumpy football fans... I felt sorry for him, I'm sure it wasn't his best gig. Quote
Mondo 300 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I've never been the biggest Bowie fan, but he had acres of talent and inspired countless artists and musicians over the decades A truly sad loss to the world! And coming so soon after Lemmy's passing as well.... RIP, sir! Quote
glrnet Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 A great loss to music and art. RIP. Credit to the Beeb, 15 minute tribute on BBC news BBC1 tonight. Quote
GMballistic Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 RIP David Bowie. I suspect Cox was just as shocked as we are, and simply mixed up her words. Human error, easily done when given the responsibility of announcing something like that. Yeah maybe but why would you say "great honour"? Surely she cannot be that stupid despite the possible pressure of announcing his death. Either way sad news. Quote
gsexr Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 A sad loss for many fans. His music lives on Quote
tatooandy67 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Very sad, my teen years were spent idolising Bowie, His music will live on RIP a true legend to many Quote
JetSet Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 He apparently turned down a knighthood in 2003. Pete Quote
