From the Guardian today - http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/jun/02/foxes-blamed-chewing-motorists-brake-cables?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Foxes blamed for motorists’ severed brake cables Drivers in Tunbridge Wells have been left outraged after hungry foxes apparently chewed through the brake cables of several cars. Kent police have now warned drivers to check their brakes before setting off on journeys. Officers called on wildlife expert John Bryant to determine whether there was an explanation other than deliberate damage to six vehicles in the second half of May. He concluded that a family of teenage fox cubs, rather than a human vandal, had gnawed through the brake cables. “It is a pretty rare occurrence, but you do get a couple of cases every year. It is the cubs who are teenage hooligans now, so they are up to all sorts,†Bryant said. “They get under cars and snap away at all the cables when they are hyped up.†A Kent police spokesman said an expert had confirmed that the damage was not caused by humans. “Foxes, especially cubs at this time of year, are known to rest under vehicles, and can chew through pipes. There is no evidence at this stage to suggest the damage was deliberately caused by a person. However, any new reports will be thoroughly investigated,†he said. Each incident was noticed by the driver concerned and no one has been injured as a result. However, one of the vehicle owners – who had to pay £400 to have her brake cables repaired – did not believe that foxes were to blame. “The cuts are just too clean ... I think it was more malicious. I want cast-iron proof that it was a fox,†she said. Another victim, Tim Ellingham, realised the brake cables on his Ford Transit van had been interfered with last week when they felt spongy. “The line was cut virtually all the way through,†he said. “You could have done it with a decent-sized pair of cutters and a good strong grip in one or two squeezes.â€

Front lip looks formidable. Nice mods

I've abandoned grit guards since one of mine lost a leg, that said mine never gets really heavily soiled. I just pay attention when I'm dunking my mitt and keep it away from the bottom of the bucket and don't swirl it around that much. Flame suit on standby.

The Trial Mountain one isn't as good as I'd hoped, the VXR is a bit underpowered for it. I'm enjoying the other two though and managed to do some damage to my times tonight. I've updated the original post. Saint, you were spot on about the last section of Roma being the key. If you can carry speed through there you're onto a win. I improved my time but I must admit I had to switch to the Auto Transmission as the power band is so narrow in the X-Bow I kept bouncing off the limiter. -
I've always found the FM transmitters to be rubbs and I've tried a few, interesting you've found a good one Dan, will be handy to know in future. For me the best things about doing the headunit (I also did the speakers and amp too) were, better iPhone Bluetooth integration and being able to tune the audio better. I only lived with the Bose for a week or so before upgrading, but IIRC it was pretty limited for configuring the sound and also the sub level and crossovers. I do agree that most of the other stuff like AppRadio and the likes is a bit pony. That said, CarPlay appears to be a leap forward and I'd much prefer a headunit with a capacitive touchscreen, I loathe the resistive type.

Aye, a huge difference. It makes me sad for the coupe drivers who listen to their thousand pound exhaust systems through metal ear muffs The coupe does have opening windows you know -

Nice times, not sure about the man math - I did some sums and came up with 1:28.927 Either way, nice times to aim and you've kindly given me something to do this evening -

Love this build Given the colour scheme and ambition of this, I assumed that it was really the Zed shed boys building it. But the lack of donuts and complete absence of strange looking brackets blows that theory right out the water

It was the Calendar picture of your '70 that got me thinking this way in the bleak midwinter. -
I just caught EG as well. Hmmmm. I like Harris and Sabine, though I don't quite know why we've seen her log saloon, when I just wanted to see her tear up the ring in her race car I could comfortably live without this show if they just moved Harris onto the main event. He's clearly the May of the whole thing, which is no bad thing. Not sure where Rory fits in, I felt like I was watching a battle between MTV versus The Gadget Show doing a "Cars" special edition. Be interesting to see where they go with this other section, or if it hits the cutting room floor.

THREAD REVIVAL! I had bit of a play today coming up with the patented Three Mod, Three Car, Three Track Challenge. Three lightwieght grip machines, made even more lightweight and grippy. In fact, there's too much grip! The three permitted mods are: Big Brake Kit Stage 3 Weight Reduction Racing Soft Tyres The tracks and cars are: Cote d'Azure Renault Sport Clio V6 24v Circuito di Roma KTM X-Bow R '12 Trial Mountain Vauxhall VX220 Turbo The premise is simple, have you got the minerals to find the edge of grip? And can you save it when you take one step beyond? These are fearsome vehicles when pushing the very limits of physics. Crikey, I had no idea these were so cheap (for a Porshce), they've probably got a less manly image than the MX5, but I imagine that matters not one jot when you're behind the wheel. -
MLB was way better than I expected, nice and dry and pretty effortless. Evans' screaming was massively irritating. I was surprised the dialogue didn't shift a jot tonally, the language used was kind of like a dubbed version of old New Top Gear. It's still early doors, they binned that fat fella off of old New Top Gear after Series 1 and the first few series it didn't pull up any ratings trees. More Sabine and, for god's sake, get Harris off the internet version and in something fast. In other news, I'm stunned social media isn't on board TG could've given away a car of choice to every single licence payer and the Clarkson fanboys would have been outraged. They'll already be well into third drafts of 5 star reviews for Amazon, complete with hilarious, you-just-can't-say-that-these-days quips

I'd love a TVR but they're a bit rich for me as a second car and I like working too much to have one as a daily. VX220 is another good shout -

I'm not against convertibles Dan, loved the Camaro in California and Louisiana. 6er is a good shout, especially with its V8ness. That Merc has elements of snipped hair, but I bet the engine soon puts that to bed. Another good one. Can't see the Maser on autotrader -
