GMballistic Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Nice! I thought my 42" one was big! There is always someone with a bigger one... ...that goes for TV's too. 1 Quote
Zedd Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Its not how big it is anyway, its how you use it Quote
Bodyboarder81 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Nice! I thought my 42" one was big! There is always someone with a bigger one... ...that goes for TV's too. That's ridiculous !! If I had the room I would have gone for a good quality projector ... My mate has one and the quality is pretty impressive and it's 108" !! Edited January 29, 2015 by Bodyboarder81 Quote
evilscorp Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I guess your blind Dan? or is your lounge shaped like this? 1 Quote
Ekona Posted January 29, 2015 Author Posted January 29, 2015 I actually bothered to do the maths on this one, and the TV is under the upper limit between 1080 and 4k for the distance we'll be sitting from it, so it should be perfect. In theory... 1 Quote
Fodder Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I actually bothered to do the maths on this one, and the TV is under the upper limit between 1080 and 4k for the distance we'll be sitting from it, so it should be perfect. In theory... The theory can be thrown out the window. I was reading something recently where it said as definition and size goes up people are sitting much closer. I think it was an article from CES, if I can find it I'll link.... That said its probably a manufacturer trying to plant the seed Quote
Ekona Posted January 29, 2015 Author Posted January 29, 2015 Yeah, you need to be sitting fairly close to appreciate the difference in the resolution, but no close you can see the individual pixels. Regardless, I still maintain there is no such thing as a TV that's too big for the room. Quote
GMballistic Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I'd love a big TV for playing "Call of Duty ~ Advanced Warfare" on as I'm sure it would make me a better player as it would be easier to spot the enemy, ....I mean the little 12 year old barstewards that keep killing me that is. 1 Quote
Toon Chris Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 ooh my VHS tapes would look all snowy on that Quote
ioneabee Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 thats bigger than me...........in fact thats bigger than most people (apart from a few like will and SMD) Quote

Brayster Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 No such thing as too big! Nice! Are you leaving us in suspense or are you going to give us some more details about it? It's a Samsung 6400, to replace my old 55" 7 series. Technically a step down, but I figure that tech has come on a long way in that time so should be the equivalent. Standard HD as I don't believe that 4K will be worth it in the next five years, plus have you seen the cost of 75" 4K TVs?! Hopefully I'll get it up on the wall sometime this weekend. Nice I just bought the 55" 6400 .. Managed to get just in the juke... Can't imagine how big that box is...! Quote
Daryl Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Seen a 90" on in Costco yesterday, still 75 is prett epic Dan, fair play. Iv got a 55" and thats plenty big enough for me, at the moment Quote
Zeezeebaba Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 When I first bought our 50 the furniture in the front room needed rearranging so we didn't have to physically turn our heads to watch anything. If I bought anything bigger we would need to sit in the garden and watch through the patio doors Quote
AliveBoy Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I bought a projector as I'm not as rich as you Dan, massively jealous Quote
R35LEE Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Dan, that TV is awesome! I went TV shopping recently with the Mrs for a 4k TV and it was the worst idea i've had in a while and i've had a few! she went nuts over 65" (TV's) never mind 75"!!! Quote
Ekona Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 New house, new TV. And the camera was wonky, the TV is bang level before anyone says it It's not calibrated yet, but it's very impressive out of the box. I love it 4 Quote
MLC35 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 "The theory can be thrown out the window." I bet the tv can't. ! 1 Quote
