  1. As would I and have done many times. I was always taught if on a multi lane carriageway undertaking is legal if done with due care. Once you add excess speed into the equation you border on careless/ dangerous behaviour if you are undertaking. My advice would be to always have an escape route on the nearside before drawing up on a vehicle on the offside. That could be a hard shoulder lane one etc. A motorist in lane two traffic for example wants to undertake slower moving offside traffic in lane three. The undertake should occur ideally when the section of lane one opposite the offside vehicle in lane three is clear. I avoid undertaking if it involves a potentially fatal sandwich
  2. I was in the VX and you drove past. I still miss the noise of a Z, thanks for the reminder.
  3. Spotted south section of the M25 today, bonnet up on the hard shoulder. Hope it was nothing serious.
  4. All good fun and all a bit Dunning Kruger. We live on a globe, FE is just nonsense. Nasa or indeed any of the other space agencies don't fake things, they are pioneers. If money was no object we would probably be on Mars already. Moon deniers are my fave, loony tunes. The Internet is full of garbage that will substantiate anyone's viewpoint without evidence. Science is ever evolving as we are. At least it admits when it's wrong. The end.
  5. A difference in opinion is the driving force in discovering new things. I particularly liked the study on the rate of universal expansion based on stars going nova. They said a nova is a cosmic constant regardless of star type. I'm lot a physicist but have an interest in all of this and find it fascinating. Every day brings a new discovery and thats living I do feel a little sorry for those basing their lives on Internet propaganda that supports their viewpoint on the earth being flat or us not going to the moon, believing in deities etc. All I know is this, if the planet was run by scientists and not politicians it would be a much less stressful place and in better condition than it is now!
  6. The DC5 is a cracker, you could always go down the more practical route and save more cash by getting an EP3. There are some bargains out there and in my opinion knock the spots of an FN2 for driving pleasure.
  7. Yes mate it was a good turn out at the PA. I don't own a Z anymore but would be up for a meet in the VX220
  8. I fall into the not keen on the looks but impressed by the engineering catagory. Huge type r fan so I can't criticise to much, enjoy the car.
  9. Yeah that seems to be quite the issue amongst owners the biscuit debate. I think it adds a touch of class to the spartan interior. I don't like the blue or red centres as I think it looks a bit Halfords . Black is ok but cheap looking and boring. I plan a retrim at some stage but have yet to decide on what colour combo. Each to their own though If I do go down the black route it will probably be carbon trim on the doors and a black and dark blue centre on the seats. No idea yet.
  10. Loads of enthusiasts out on the road today, Aston, Porsche, Ferrari, Mclaren and me in the poor man's wheels Also got a flash and wave from an S2 so I returned the compliment. All in all the perfect petrol head day aside from visiting a track.
  11. That's awful mate, sorry to hear that. It's normal to feel the way you do, his age also compounds it somewhat. It will feel like a terrible injustice and unfair and the "what if" questions will continue to do the rounds for some considerable time. The only way to help everyone to recover is to be there for each other through this tough time. It's easy to detach from this sort of thing until it happens close to you, your reaction is perfectly normal for such a tragic incident. You will all miss him terribly and showing strength and unity to his wife is all you can do. This is even more important when baby arrives as little one is part of him and as such the grief may return even stronger for her. I don't really know what else to say aside from the obvious so instead I will leave it there. All the best Dan and heartfelt condolences to everyone involved.

    Thank You!

There are some top people on this forum I no longer own a Z but still visit regularly. Loads of ex owners do, that alone speaks volumes.
  13. Beat me to it My nan was a Lancashire lass and the north south debate always revolved around food. Chips gravy and mushy peas quoted regularly. We always agreed the South was Oxford and below with the Midlands up to just past Brummy then you hit the North

I'm still loving this thread. Top work.
  15. Ahh good shout, you know what I've got an old Puma one somewhere in the garage.
  16. Thanks mate. That picture shows my last two cars and my present one from right to left (although my M3 was a standard manual and my Z a DE). I've only got a VX as I have a new golf as a daily otherwise I wouldn't have it, yeah it's awesome. I think my stoppers are factory, AP fronts and Brembo rear, it has a Larini pipe and a single sports cat. It's a little too loud for me tbh. It's had an uprated heater module and pipe, trickle charge port and abs cut off switch. It's on Gaz monos which are fairly new but are being replaced with Nitrons ASAP. The wiper has the washer jet directly on it, I don't think that's standard and I think it's a Citroën part. I need to get a few interior bits to tidy it up. Drivers bolster is wearing thin, the trim by the door pull has a split in it and the black plastic sill trim has a small crack in it. I also need a smaller interior mirror but that's just knit picking Power wise it's supposedly a stage 2 tune but I'm going to employ the services of sizetenboots on the forum next month as he only lives a short hop up the M3 from me and I met him at a local specialist the other week. It certainly shifts though, no arguments there.
  17. It's an oversize Lego car, yeah I get it
  18. Yes I saw those, 600 notes is a bargain. However I'm set on the Nitrons at the moment.
  19. Yesterday was the first time I really stretched it's legs, dry roads minimal traffic. I really didn't want to put it back in the garage yesterday afternoon! I had a long blast over the Surrey hills down the A3 through the Hindhead tunnel, up through Selborne and back down the Alton road A339. It's an addictive machine to the extreme, I absolutely love this thing! I used half a tank, considering it's a small tank that's pretty impressive going IMO. Win win New year will bring mods, better wheel /tyre combo, Nitrons, interior refresh and alloy rad. Anyone know the VX term for Zeditus?
  20. Every time I've been between cars I've bought a little Ford Puma to buzz about in. The 1.7 is the ideal and cheap way to get your petrol head fix and not break the bank. I've owned 5 in total over the years including the FRP. A good tidy example without rear arch rot shouldn't be much more than 1k. Drop some decent seats in it and lower it and they are better than you think.
  21. I bought a VX in the end I'm still up for a local meet though when the weather improves
  22. I've treated the tubby to a full geo and suspension check at Back on Track in Guildford. It wasn't the ideal day weather wise far from it, however at least I know it doesn't leak and the heater has already been upgraded so all good. Totally different drive on the way home, it was slammed at the front beforehand and crashed quite badly over larger bumps in the road, I've ordered some Nitrons for fast road use but have discovered it currently has a fairly new set of Gaz monos which are not the best tbh, at least now they are at a better height and don't slam into the stops. New year will bring some 16s front and 17 rear lightweight wheels with a view to putting the Nitrons on at the same time. Other than that BOT just gave her the once over and confirmed the belts etc were indeed new as advertised and the car was structurally sound. All in all a good day and I even had time to wash her off before tucking her back into the garage. I love this thing
  23. I'm still here, sold mine a couple of months ago. Some on here sold up years ago and still pop in to one of the best owners forums on the net All the best with the new car.
