Keyser Posted September 1, 2013 Share Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) In a mad moment of weakness I promised Buster I would spray his new spoiler as a birthday present Anyway as everything is on hold as far as my projects are concerned and there has been a delay on the house extension we had a quiet weekend (especially as Buster is on holiday) So the wife thought we should do the spoiler .......................... Starting here Some damage to repair Heavy weight tools into action After some sanding A bit of filler more sanding First coat of primer Few little marks to sort out with some stopper Then the basecoat All good so far - Then I did the clear coat OMG what a disaster - I tried a new jet and needle in my gun BIG MISTAKE! I ended up with runs and a sag mark that you would not believe - It was so bad I didn't even take pics So Sunday we sanded it down again! A new coat of primer Another try with the basecoat Then another attempt at clear coat - this time with my normal setup - I'm happy to say this time it was worth taking some pics Hope he likes it. Keyser Posted September 15, 2013 Author Share Posted September 15, 2013 Bob was back from holiday today and Mrs Keyser collected him at 11:15 brought him back to the ZedShed to help unload my new toolbox see - http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/76128-zedshed-roadtrip-update-with-pics/ Here he is Anyway after helping unload (thanks mate ) off he went home to unpack and shower after 30 hours traveling! We did of course show him his surprise - the now sprayed rear spoiler and would you believe he was back this after noon and in less than 6 hours from getting back he has already shown that he has an incurable case of Zeditis - Into the ZedShed Off with the old spoiler (do you never wash your car Buster? ) New spoiler fitted I like it - Buster seems happy as well Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Possibly some carbon vinyl on the underside of the spoiler might be worth a try... as that should look good with your rear diffuser then.
