New to forum - Currently on First Z, won't be my last!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've had my black 350 for just over a year now and can say with confidence that it won't be my last! I absolutely love it!

I've had a few issues over the year but I'm pretty sure it's because the last owner didn't look after it as they should have. None the less it's a joy when I put something right on it!

I've always used this forum as the Z gospel, as there is so much great info and people, who actually know what they're talking about, and want to help! I've finally joined up as I know I've got some big parts that'll need changing on my car soon and want to utilise everyone's opinions.

Looking forward to the help ðŸ‘

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

As advised by kbad here is a list of stuff I've done to my car so far.

I had a rattle on the near side front suspension which took an age to diagnose but after changing the drop links, all inner bushes on the front to polypropylene ones turned out to be the ball joint of the lower control arm. Changed the whole arm and replaced the OEM bushes back to polypropylene. Fixed and no problems since there.

The windscreen washer system was blocked with little waster getting to the rear and limited to the front. This was an easy fix. The anti back flow valve that was blocked and I replaced it with a straight through connection and it's been fine for the front. The rear issue was due to a split in the tube which I just replaced with a section of new and two straight connectors. Fine now.

The front right wheel arch liner was missing when I bought the car and where the back of the light bulb cover was not put on correctly lead to moisture in the light. This then found its way to the HID ballast, shorting it. Replaced it with one from eBay. Took the light off the car and dried it out completely and got a new seal for the cover and had no issues since. Oh and I bought a new liner as well.

The undertray had seen better days, being held on with cable ties primarily, so I have removed it for now. Will be looking to get a metal one (like the look of the black anodised one).

My clutch is just starting to show signs of needing a change so will need to decide whether to single mass or dual mass the flywheel when I change both clutch and flywheel! Seems like a mix of opinions out there.

I have got pics to post but need to work out a drop box style approach as the pics seem to be too large for direct upload.

Anyhow that's my car's life story, sorry if it's a bit lengthy. 😀
