  5. Rare pic of Nixy cleaning a ZED and, not even hers (Wales, May 2010)
  6. What would really help us, and you are a case in point, is if members put their location with their avatar - even the County would do if you do not want to say the town.
  7. Pleased for you if it was the new 'for sale' thread that did the trick
  8. The details/list for the October drive-out on (Sunday) 16 October is here: viewtopic.php?f=93&t=53850. The early start is so that some good driving roads can be enjoyed before getting too busy Fuel costs are obviously a factor but then we all know you pay a price for perfomance in terms of petrol consumption when you buy a ZED. That said, the team are aware that not all parts of the country are best served for a 'local' meet and maybe we can look at something on the basis of drives that can visit the more remote areas so meet-ups can be arranged en-route. But if you know that where you are there is some good local interest (a thread on here?) that would welcome a 350z-uk 'visit' lets see what can be done. Evening weekday drives/meets is a good suggestion and if there is good support for this, why not?
  9. Neat vid there Darren - what was that comment at the end from Double Dee about no brakes More please
  10. Having been one of the more active members on here for the nearly 6 years and attended numerous get-to-gethers with other members it is apparent that despite our ever increasing membership numbers, proportionally fewer members are getting along to meets and drive-outs. That is a shame, especially when we see regular comments from newbies about getting along to a meet but we never get to see them. It is the best way to see and gain inspiration to mod and look after the cars and get answers to questions that are not always so easy to obtain or understand by posting on the forum. Putting faces to names is also a great way of knowing and finding out who is likely to be the best member to ask when you want to do something to the car or might have a problem. We don't bite and welcome all newcomers along to mets up and down the couutry who have a common interest and over the years has resulted in new friendships being made. Even if you do not own a ZED, if you are a member you are welcome and it may well help those aspiring to ZED ownership. The Wales weekend is about the only annual event where we have restrict entries to those using a ZED, as too many cars on the drive-outs can cause logistical issues. So some feed-back please, as those of us who have some time to organize get-to-gethers want to see if we can do things differently to suit your requirements. So what is putting you off, or stopping you? If you prefer to comment privately, please pm me or any team member. Thank you.
  11. I think this is going to get confusing. I beleive that before, 7AT coupe & roadster were band L, 6MT roadster was band M (only just mind). I seem to remember reading that for MY11+ they fiddled with the ECU to bring all cars back into band L. There certainly used to be a split for 6MT roadster being in a different class, so the DVLA may be right. Confirmed here Chris: viewtopic.php?f=70&t=53767 It's just the 370 manual roadster that is in Band M, all the rest are Band L.
  12. And also remember that Nissan have recorded a "running-in" period and if something did happen to the engine with the plug-in electronics and examination of the failed parts they can do these days, or they saw the brakes had been overheated and found evidence of mis-use that might well affect a warranty claim. Better to be safe than sorry.
  13. I was hoping someone might have done a vid at Knockhill pulling max revs in third on the pit straight and quick change into 4th before Duffus - it sounded good in the car and with the synchro rev making the changes sounding very sweet
  14. Zeds represent great value for money with looks, power and reliability that is unequalled. On my 3rd example. Enjoyed many Japanese cars in the past - all of which have been near-on 100% reliable, unlike English and French offerings in the past whilst the high prices of the German marques or badly handling American barges are a turn-off. Love many of the Italian cars in style and performance - unfortunately mostly well beyond my budget and probably no bad thing as their lack of reliability can be expensive.
  15. Reminds me of that Stones classic "I just wanna make love to you"
  16. Hi double poster Shame on Victoria putting you up to that username See you Saturday
  17. Thanks mate. While I'm in the thread of Mod's. Is your CF front lip, a cover like I had on my 350z, if so, is it an easy and good fit, and where did you get it? Its wrapping - see here for the fitting of that and the exhaust: viewtopic.php?f=103&t=31681&hilit=wrapping
  18. White also seems to be a magnet for them, as does the bloody tree sap that seems to be rife this year.
  19. Handbook says (5-2) for the first 1200 miles do not run the engine over 4000rpm and no harsh acceleration/braking or driving at constant speeds as it "may result in shortened engine life and reduced engine performance". These days with modern oils my understanding is that as long as revs are built up progressively rather than foot to the floor, and and you do not start off doing emergency stops it is unlikely any harm will be done. With oil temperature guage in the 370 that also helps to signal when you might need to ease back bearing in mind that if you start seeing 120 degrees+ that is getting near to when the oil properties start to break down but you should not get anywhere near that, unless on track..... Also had a debate recently about bedding in brakes but frankly with the OEM discs and pads progressive application towards hard braking should be fine - just think how many new cars are run by non-enthusiasts and you don't hear of issues. Basically, just don't drive it like you stole it for the first thousand miles or so
  20. Get yourself a dentist chair for home then -you lay on your back, lower BP while you - win win all round
  21. Can't that doctor with whom you had a medical prescribe them - given hospital doctors do what is necessary as the GP is not there?
