  1. According to the handbook the clock is between 6 & 7 on your list. It then goes on to say that you need to keep the change button pressed for more than 3 seconds to change the hours/minutes (allow 5 seconds between these to make changes). It also says you need to have the ignition on to make the changes. Failing that you'll just have to be late like every other woman (only kidding )
  2. That looks so wrong, mate. I think you need a sweeping gravel drive to compliment the G now! Mrs Sarnie is on the case apparently now i can afford a £90k car i can afford a £475k house Lucky if that would buy a garage in London so Mrs Sarnie would still be without her house
  3. Yeah, sorry about that Beavis - an issue I have been discussing with Chris - when I use the 'go back' button I am being dumped off the site and using the refresh is causing the problem - the penny has dropped this morning seeing what happened on this thread.
  4. Fully deserved - the best car one of course and greart to see off another beemer
  5. Good advice from Zzzz - but will you remember it on the road? In my experience there is nothing better than having an 'expert' alongside to give the confidence and its well worth the money. Although I gained some self-taught car control skills from years of competitive autotesting, maxing the road potential of a performance car is another dimension altogther and doing it on your own on the road might be risky. Yeah, by all means have some fun in a quiet private area (we all do that I'm sure ) but that won't give you skills for the road. In the latest EVO page 061 this training outfit http://www.catdrivertraining.co.uk put in a plug directed at Z drivers - might be worth a try? Perhaps others will know their form or somthing better?
  6. No permanent clock display Am I missing something here because mine defaults to the clock permanently on the righthand circular instrument on top of the dash. It should return to whatever you left it on last. Yep, and rather than having clock on all time. I have the digital speedo on that clock, then just hold the button down to "jump" to clock. Then click once to jump back to where you had it set....... best of both worlds to me, as use the speedo more than the clock! Snap Jcko. Tat's exactly what I do. Or I wear a watch..... Clock? What clock? On the digital gauge I don't see a clock on mine? Its the r/h one of the three 'eyes' staring at you from the cente of the car - keep pressing the button with the two interlocking square symbols on the speedo cluster until the clock display turns up (amongst other options) and then use the button with the minus symbol to help adjust the time as its probably still showing the time in Toyko or wherever !
  7. Passed my test in 1965 and bought a 1962 Old English White Mini 850, Reg XPK820 - anyone know it is still going? Be worth a small fortune if it is I guess! Replaced a TV175 Lambretta (probably worth more than the Mini now) - that was seen as by the ladies in that 'mod' era although if you had said 'cool' then everyone be thinking you meant - Ah, those were...........
  8. Who is he? Glad it wasn't just me + another ..glad I'm not the only one scratching my head
  9. That's a relief, thought I was going to be
  10. Kuro asked: Oh, and what's the black bit that's out of shot, is this the mike for the phone..? SPOT ON!
  11. We know the Z gives one of the best drives, £ 4 £, and if you enjoy driving rather than getting from A to B, I can assure you that even at the ripe old age of 59 that you still want a great drive before the next wheels - becomes necessary (or worse still a Micra!!)
  12. Welcome Jeny - nice to see another southerner on board 5k miles on my 296 engine and still waiting to do an oil top-up - so maybe its a running-in thing that has caused probs for others?
  13. You'll be seeing stars if you dont watch it! oh oh, its another porsche v lambo contest - they should have stuck to their Zs so they have nothing to prove! (Have to admit I'd love 'em both, for different reasons. I'll just have to keep plugging away at the lottery)
  14. Rain! - I do like to have the window open, (if only to enjoy the noise I'm making and sod the ), but not the un-invited shower that comes along even when its hardly raining and the need to have the air con on if I want to stay dry and see where I'm going Yeah, the Z is by no means unique with this issue and its an inherent prob with many cars and I wouldn't want roof gutters etc spoiling the loooooooooks. Balancing that small whinge against performance/value for money and sheer driving pleasure that my pocket can afford, I was really struggling to find something worth mentioning other than my earlier post that I wish I could find more time to be out driving and invoking the odd or two ;) .
  15. Digsy said That's the worse thing for me - when it is on the drive and bloody work stops me driving it!
  16. 'Super' car performance at an affordable price that is basically bullet-proof and for those who enjoy a good drive , nothing else comes close. If the more informed motoring journalists still rate it - look how long it has remained best smal coupe in EVO - that says it all. As other threads reveal, the only thing that lets it down is paint quality. (But as that dosen't affect the driveI can live with it.)
  17. Porsche are losing the plot, bigtime. Did you see the link on that site though: http://cars.uk.msn.com/news/car_news_ar ... id=5736705 The Z still remains one of 20 least depreciating cars and as its one of the oldest designs in that group - not bad, eh? Didn't see a Lambo in that top 20 though

    Help!!!!

Anyone know what paint is used on the Rays? I have a couple of scuffs that do not merit a refurb (yet) but having smoothed off the scuffs and then got bright alloy showing I was hoping to colour match with a suitable touch-up.
  19. OK by me - if it helps, the A24 south of North Holmwood has some rewarding sections and a finish location could be on the esplande at Brighton where they do the time trials? Roads around Bury Hill (A29) can also be entertaining (day trippers allowing!). Unless you have a circular route in mind I guess it would take less than 2 hours from the Guildford Area to Brighton so are you planning on a later start? I don't know the roads to Bournemouth other than the A3 and some of the A31 so that would be a new experience.
  20. "More like pure excitement at getting a good thrashing" - yeah, I could undertstand that if the front washers had a squirt but a bit sad when its out of the back end!
