Possible that the bodyshop used a thin layer of filler for a smoother finish which they've left exposed during prep which has absorbed moisture? Just an idea, probably wrong however I find it suspect its the majority of the spoiler. If it was one area I'd say its a reaction but not the entire way along

She's looking great as always Shezza. Mad to think its well over a year now since we've all been able to meet up for a decent show!

Newbie with 2007 350z Nismo
Olly350z replied to dean_asla's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Been watching your videos and staying up to date with them, its a real shame you're having issues with the car and garage still. However the low oil pressure issue you're having is well known on the HR engines, why they didn't replace the gaskets while the second engine was out, would've made their lives and yours so much easier Get those gaskets changed ASAP you'll notice such a difference with the car -
Been quietly reading this post with interest and decided to tackle those rear arch covers on my Nismo, out of a morbid curiosity and preventative maintenance. This is what I found Bare in mind my Nismo is only 4 years old, the amount of crud and build up behind was awful. No signs of rust thankfully and I cleaned the area both sides with a warm soapy solution. Almost think this should be stickied for anyone else with a 370z to check and rectify accordingly

5w-30 fully synthetic oil as recommended directly from the owners manual (16 plate Nismo) HOWEVER, I have switched to a slightly thicker oil, 5w-40 millers CFS as I wanted a slightly higher protection when warm. My Nismo just ticked over 35K on the clock. Do not cheap out on the oil, as mentioned above Opie oils are seriously good guys

Back to the Dealership mate, this is a well known fault in the Honda World as the rear demister lines share the radio antenna. Will advise its not a quick fix sadly
-
You can buy them from Torqen or Nissan brand new for about 40 quid.

Start / stop button took all over 2 minutes to swap over, very easy Yeah it came with mats, I'm wanting to replace them with new (something I've always done when buying a new car, right of passage) however I was a bit shocked that they cost nearly £400 quid!

Happy new year everyone! A couple of small updates from over the Xmas period, keeping the modifications small and sensible for now however there were a few bits over the period. The one area that let the car down was the red fins on the front bumper were quite heavily marked, so que the Mrs treating me to two new ones, which need to be fitted. Going to get the old ones painted so I can mix and match as I choose Next up was a GTR start button, really shocked at the difference one little button has made to the inside Gave the interior a good spruce up today, as it hadn't been touched much over the last few weeks. Getting ready for the future bits to be done

Z Dog, flying high over the rainbow bridge making 350z noises since 2016 And Bailey, our rescue from Ireland. Something about rescue dogs, very rewarding when they turn that corner. However getting this one to turn that corner has taken nearly 5 years!

Regardless, its still absolutely awful and if I were in a position of buying one, I'd be doing all in my power to either not have it / paint it. I personally feel chrome belongs on classics, or big American imports, chargers, impala's etc All personal preference mind

I hate to admit it but its definitely growing on me. The more I see the more I like with its styling, however this is more then likely because its a retro style with modern flare, which I'm a sucker for. Especially found of the 300zx rear tail light style. Yes, im one of those people who love old style with modern technology The one big no no for me though, and nearly all modern manufacturers do this is the multi coloured body panels, or two tone in this case yellow with black and chrome roof If possible I'd want one colour coded all one colour. Why manufacturers decide this looks good will never, ever make sense to me

Walk away. Rust is sadly an inevitably on all cars, especially in the UK however there are things that can be done to help hold it back. This one will be too far gone to rescue at this point As said above, if you have that kind of budget then find yourself a better example
-
Personally, I would only pay that asking price if it is exceptionally good condition and everything checks out. While it is the best colour for a Z ill agree, it is right at the very top of what they're worth, especially a DE. If I was to do 350z ownership again and had that budget, I'd be looking at a good condition HR. Newer car, newer refinements and the better model to have IMO

Agree with you Willsy, thats probably been the most surprising bit is how often I get stopped or find people admiring the car. Always had unique cars but this one trumps them all Bet the neighbours have pestered you an all

Welcome to the Nismo gang buddy! I really hope next year we can get a Nismo stand with all of them together, would be great to see. How you finding her ?

Thats a GT, you can see the heated and electric seat switches, the original bose stereo and cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. However, blooming heck thats a steep price!

370z Nismo Mk1 - Restoring back to showroom condition
Olly350z replied to Lewis Schwier's topic in Member Build Projects
Welcome to the Nismo club, definitely made the right decision and its one hell of an upgrade over the standard 350. Glad to see I'm not the only one who routinely checked i had bought one at first -
Help please - Weird at warm up and high vibration at idle
Olly350z replied to veeg33's topic in 350Z Technical
And buy me a beer if it does turn out to be a coilpack -
Camber doesn't wear tyres that excessively, toe does as you've now found out. I ran much lower then that for easily 3 years and must have covered around 15k miles without any hint of wear on my tyres as the alignment was spot on, and this was only with aftermarket toe bolts at the rear Camber will cause wear over the life of a tyre on the inside edge as your decreasing the contact patch on the road, toe will wear tyres as you're basically dragging them down the road rather then rotating.

Would lay money you have the same issue, the amp kicking in and out is a well known. I bought a second hand one and never had further issues. Its located behind the main sub, behind drivers seat. 20 minute job to swap over

Olly350z replied to veeg33's topic in 350Z Technical
Ok, I'm going to ask again, have you checked the coilpacks and spark plugs? I only ask as you've not mentioned them once I honestly think you've been thrown way off the scent by the MAF sensor, in fact id be willing the lay money its either the coilpacks or plugs. Your symptoms are indicative of this, and identical to the issues I suffered. I would have an intermittent misfire that would come out of nowhere under normal driving or giving it WOT and it was like hitting a brick wall. And then it would clear just as quickly. It even left me stranded at the road side one day for 10 minutes until it cleared and this was the final straw for me. I proved this by letting it run until it started misfiring, at which point I unplugged each coilpack one at a time. I soon found the culprit and replaced all packs and plugs and I can't stress this enough, it never ran so well before. This probably sounds like a dig post and its honestly not meant like that, just don't want you throwing money at injectors when I'd highly doubt its those and basic checks on the coilpacks could save you alot of money -
I would say this is more of a beam image issue and less to do with the actual brightness. Are your headlights showing there age with yellow oxidation?

Thats a misfire code. I'd recommend as I've said above, engine running go round unplugging each coilpack one at a time. If you hear a noticeable drop in engine running, its good. If you don't hear anything, thats your suspect. You can then try a known working one if someone is local, or go straight in with plugs. Plugs, coilpacks and further diagnostics in that order
