  1. Yes. A roof fell on my car which the building insurers eventually paid out for. My motorcycle insurance went up at the next renewal .....

    which wheels

    Gold ones .......
  3. I have a slightly off topic observation of my own that pertains to more of a `where the 370Z is not quite as fast as I would have expected`. Along the M62 there are constant road works year after year and probably more 50mph limits than 70`s along its length. When I get to the end of the 50`s I just leave it in 6th and stick my foot down up to 70. Not particularly racing with anyone but I like to see how well and quick it gets up to 70 which, I must say, is a bit disappointing. It doesn`t really leave the majority of the other traffic very far behind and a lot seem to keep with it quite easily. It always pulls well and strong from low revs just not that quickly increasing the speed. I know I could drop down 2 or 3 gears and there`s no knowing whether they have already done so or not but I get the impression that most can stay fairly closely with it from 50 to 70 without changing down. Not much of a sprint or test I know, and probably a completely different outcome if I start dropping gears (VXR`s and Fabia RS excepted... ) but I thought these big NA engines were all about more grunt and low down pull and I would have expected to see a bigger advantage over the everyday family saloons and hatch backs being driven by granny tailgating me up to 70 ......
  4. Nothing. Retired 21 months ago after 30 years in the Police Service.
  5. And not just any 370Z. Only one of the best looking ones ....
  6. Lots of stone chips to the front but never had any there.
  7. Two weeks lounging around in the sun in Hurghada (and eating and drinking too much of course) - three weeks tomorrow .....
  8. Not got a problem with crows but just had to go buy a mouse trap after having to get up twice during the night with the house alarm going off. All looked fine until on the second time I saw a tail hanging down from a tool rack near to the sensor in the garage. A little grey mouse then appeared and promptly disappeared back amongst all the shelving and stuff.
  9. Taking mine to Westway HPC Manchester on Wednesday for it`s second service at 2 years old. Was £199 last year and this year they say it`s a bigger one so £299.
  10. Just another way in which the 70 is an improvement over the 50 then ....
  11. What did you use to touch them up? Just some touch up paint that I got off the internet on the end of a cocktail stick. They did let me know that they wouldn`t guarantee a perfect match with it being a pearlescent finish, and It`s not, but it is better than the black showing through.
  12. Yeah, just washed mine and found & touched up 3 new ones from the weekend jaunt over to Gainsborough.
  13. Excellent choice. But I disagree about the stripes - makes them stand out from the other models.
  14. Mine too but I`m not sure if I remember that it can be personally set in the settings to how you want it to work.
  15. Unfortunately this is what happens when the current government continually attack the police year after year with cut after cut meaning that with a 20% reduction in staff and budgets they can no longer provide the service that we would like and have come to expect.
  16. Not particularly and that was my only gripe I had with mine - I thought 0-60 of 7.6s didn`t match the looks and needed to be quicker. But the RCZ-R knocks a second off that I believe.
  17. I had one which I traded in for the Zed just before it was 2 years old. A GT200 in Shark Grey, lovely colour which they stopped doing after the Tsunami as the paint came from Japan. Loved the car and it was better than the Zed in some ways - interior, equipment, good MPG, low(ish) road tax, really large boot and rear seats that you could just about squeeze someone (small) into for a shot trip but ultimately I wanted (and love) the extra power of the Zed. Would be really tempted to get an RCZ-R though if I ever came to part with the Zed.
  18. The wife has a diesel Mokka and I have to say I love how it only costs pretty much exactly half as much in fuel when ever we go anywhere in that instead of the Zed and only having to cough up £30 come road tax renewal time. However, I`ve often said to her if it comes to a time when we only have one car I`ll be deciding which one we keep and I won`t be getting rid of the Zed ......
  19. But you can`t just choose which laws to obey and which to disregard based on whether you can see the point of them or not. How safe would the roads be if we all chose to do that ? No one should (or would) be allowed a licence or to drive on UK roads if they think that doing 120 in a 60 is okay because they perceive it to be safe and reasonable in the conditions .....
  20. Nothing international for us ( I too like to fly and fry on the beach all day ) but we have 3 nights down in Torquay booked with a night in Gloucestershire on the way down followed by 5 nights in St Austell and then back via a night in Basildon and then probably Gainsborough end of July to look forward to in the Zed.
  21. Surely everyone who is on here would acknowledge a wave or flash but I wonder what percentage of owners are actually on here ? I would have thought it would be quite high, no ?

    Cayman GT4

I have always liked the Cayman, although, when I got the Zed it looked like I would have to pay way,way more, to get one that performed as good (on paper and comparing new of each). However, I was at the Trafford Centre yesterday and there was 2 in the car park, one white and one black/really dark colour and I have to say (totally unbiased of course) the Zed was still by far the best looking car in the car park ......
  23. Yeah it does connect to the ECU (eventually after a bit of messing around) then checks it and comes up with the - 0 Faults.
  24. Anyone offer any advice on the following. It`s for the wifes Mokka 1.7D but I presume it`s the same sort of thing with most cars and I think there`s far more competent and technically minded people of here than the Mokka forum. Every now and again it will display a "Service soon" message on the display. It isn`t due a service till July and I first thought they had just not reset the mileage/service interval after the last one as it had just about reached 20K. However, have also read that it can throw up this message for minor issues and so bought a code reader and downloaded a couple of free apps to try before taking it back to the dealers. I have this morning tried it but they both just show no fault codes, no pending fault codes and no permanent fault codes. Am I right in presuming that this means no faults currently and no previously stored ones and, if so, why is the fault not there. Is it perhaps down to the apps and the paid for ones will be better at bringing up any faults ? Cheers, Wayne.
  25. Handy tool that I just came across on t`interweb and thought worth sharing ; http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp (saves getting the notepad and calculator out). Apologies if we already have something similar or everyone already knows of it but, as usual, the search didn`t reveal anything.
