1. How many grannies have you been mugging ? Can I help ? Yeah sure, paypal me some money lol thanks. bugger, that wasn't what I meant.
2. Underneath the 380RS (NA of course) - so this I imagine is better going by their testing, or perhaps just saves weight.
3. Have a look at the dyno results thread, and er obviously your specific HR motor
4. I thought the cosworth ones were blue? The HKS ones are green. I think you're right
5. Worth searching on the US forums - but one thing which should be obvious - stick to a very high quality brand and material. The last thing you want is the bugger cracking As I'm on the DE engine rather than the op's HR, I'm going with Tomei or HR bendy bits. (or PPE Long tubes if feeling a bit flush - which is never basically)
6. Please fabricate a MBC brace whilst you're there Enjoy the trip !
7. I've got a green one and give it a wash in Surfex HD every 6 months (I think it's a Cossy)
8. Good to know Rich, it still seems like an Americanism. Either way - it's those bendy bits that come out of the engine & you can see that the HR design is already pretty good, so I personally wouldn't change them unless you are putting a fully designed system in or trying to change the sound perhaps ? (if you do, I'll buy your HR bendy bits)/
9. Manifolds (US = headers) They are already good in the HR - just have a look at the design, it's us lot with the DE that have not so good ones. It's one of those jobs that'll take at least 5hrs (most say 8), so it'll be easier having the engine out and doing other stuff at the same time if you have the time/cash/patience. (on the bottom) Basically you're asking about 'bolt on' upgrades rather than getting into the guts of it right ?
10. My one was what I'd consider the 'top end' price wise (£7k) of the market but was from here, well looked after with FSH + receipts. iirc about 78k miles (now 108k). That was back in Oct 2012 - jeez, a wee while ago !
11. It's a few years old, so I don't know if anything was standardised in that time but it's certainly worth checking their measurements if people are curious.
12. I was just looking back through some old blog posts and stumbled across this - something I'd not considered before. Which is bigger - the one on the left or right ? Both are mounted on the same 11.5 inch wide wheels. The tyre on the left is a Michelin PS2, 295/30/19. The tyre on the right is a Pirelli PZero, 305/30/19. https://cornerbalance.wordpress.com/2013/11/12/why-stressing-over-tire-size-is-useless/
13. I think I may order a set at the end of the month, good price anyway if it's gone up.

380Rs

Absolutely brilliant, I may be contacting him for an NSX R, sadly not for me but will drive it ðŸ˜
15. If you are brave enough to start reducing the slack out of the drive line (poly/solid bushings), all of the nastiness begins to vanish. Sadly at the cost of vibration etc (but I dont mind)
16. The most important thing is searching, what new people seem to forget when on forums is that their question or problem is unlikely to be new. So it's usually been asked plenty of times already. The forum search is pretty good but this is FAR better: Go to google, copy and past this: site:350z-uk.com banana arm bush And just change the 'banana arm bush' text to whatever you are searching for, you'll see that it's better.
17. No problem, as I mentioned I would get the SuperPro bushing rather than what he did simply because he was building a more track oriented car. Just look through the traders, we have plenty that will supply you with what you require. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/93-professional-traders/ Try and get a photo with your phone just to double check.
18. There are lots of traders here that can supply everything you could need, so have a look - definitely use the search. But we ideally need to know specifically what part is knackered. If it's a bushing, I'd recommend getting a pair of up-rated parts (SuperPro) if its the banana arm (compression arm) bushing as this will give much nicer steering without ruining anything. Technically, yes if you have the tools at home you can do this but I'm guessing you don't. http://www.350z-uk.c...ing#entry704841 Have a look, see if you can get a photo or two from underneath the car: http://www.350z-uk.c...-banana-bushes/ Also, since you just bought the car - ensure you fill her up with 97Ron (Vpower etc)
19. Can you not get someone to record the noise so we can hear it ? Just upload it to youtube or dropbox etc
20.
Ok so I now have braided brake lines, and fluid bled. The pedal does feel a lot more responsive, it's not like brand new Audi feel with the initial huge bite, still progressive I would say, but a lot better, I'm not dissatisfied approaching stop lights and junctions anymore. Happy camper again
I was meant to go to my friends unit today, hang out and fix bit and tinker with my car. One of things I'm looking at doing is this and was going to mock something up today but sadly I have to wait: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/105678-master-brake-cylinder-brace-lets-make-one/ Have a look on youtube/google (not just for 350z, all cars) and you'll see that everyone says it makes a difference, as to what extent will depend how good the brace is I imagine. As you'll see, some still flex. I'll keep that thread updated with both good or bad news
21. Excellent stuff, I'd actually like to drive one that doesn't have any of the work done just see how much my one has progressed. I've still got lots to do this year, engine mounts, rear bushings etc
22. Sonax - BSD = awesome This stuff lasts about 5 washes for me, I like it
23. My mate has a gorgeous black R8 for sale, £48k-ish, that's what I'd probably have gone for but a wee bit over your budget so maybe a Corvette or a Viper Nice M3 though, plenty of poke in them !
24. I have a mate with one (that came from a turbo 350z), he seems to overall enjoy it but some things were frustrating initially. Needed camber/geo work (as do 99% of any factory cars anyway), didn't recommend launch edition or race suspension unless living on the track I don't like the spider eye lights that are on the initial lot but it looks like (ironically) the 'spider' version has nicer units. I'd love to have a 20 min or so drive in one to see how it is.
