  1. Something most people don't mention or realise that made a difference for me was to replace the transmission mount (which deteriorates, sloppy shifting feel etc). I used a poly one, which is probably too harsh for most however Hardrace make a decent rubber version which H-dev sell, or whomever you want to use to supply. Ex: http://www.h-dev.co.uk/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=54&products_id=25700 Just an idea, and worth searching and reading about.
  2. One vital piece of info missing (well, I didn't spot it) Budget?

    Brake fluid

Don't shoot the messenger - just ask Motul.

    Brake fluid

6 months is for what I mentioned, Motul RBF600 (or after each track day). The stuff I use, TYP200 (which WAS superblue) can be done every couple of years iirc (or after every track day, advisable imho).

I use ATE TYP200, you get a litre in the tin and it's very good value, and nearly the same spec as Motul RBF600 (which is meant to be changed every 6 months, very expensive imho).
  6. Well if they don't mind nearly being decapitated for saving a few quid...
  7. (not sure if a repost but hey, this is an important one) http://newsroom.carmarthenshire.gov.uk/news-archive/2015/10/dangerous-fake-motor-racing-harnesses-uncovered/#.Vidpn1UrJaR
  8. I'd recommend having the new lot skimmed as well, it's what I did with Marcus (or find someone nearby that is rated): http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/97748-marcus-disc-skimmers-excellent/
  9. horus1970: Ok, not intended to be patronising but it's the way you wrote it, looked like you didn't know so it's always worth telling new people here to take care of these cars. Listen to Brad if you want to create a smoke trail wherever you drive
  10. Fully synthetic 5W30 (buy a 5ltr tub from somewhere like opieoils.com - and there is a recommended list on their site) - you'll need it, as these cars will drink oil. If you don't know about this stuff, which is what your post is reading like... also ensure you are filling the car with super unleaded, example Shell V-Power Nitro+ (yes, the expensive stuff). Didn't the car have a manual with it ?
  11. I've had my car for a few years now, and for the very first time about two months ago I triggered that bloody oil light. In my case it just flashed up once as I was braking hard at a set of traffic lights, I just drove very slowly about half a mile to the nearest Shell station, turned it off for 15 mins and slung a litre in there. Then another litre when I got back home. Then another 2 litres when my opie oils box turned up So now I have a 5ltr tub in the back of the car 'just in case'
  12. I didn't file anything down in the end, shifts fine now, so I'm guessing it's done it itself.
  13. All you have to do is watch the games conferences on youtube, the Sony presentations were dull, I didn't see a decent racing game nor anything else that was 'exclusive' that would make me want to purchase it. I saw far more intriguing games to spend my time and money on from the MS side. Of course, which ever one you have bought, you're going to rationalise your purchase decision but just looking at what is coming out it's no contest for me.
  14. Here is part 2: http://engineering.mishimoto.com/2015/07/pure-vq-sound-mishimotos-350z-performance-intake-rd-part-2-fabrication-completion/ and... part 3: http://engineering.mishimoto.com/2015/08/pure-vq-sound-mishimotos-350z-performance-intake-rd-part-3-dyno-testing-and-results/
  15. I should have ordered the rear DS2500's at the same time as the fronts but nevertheless I have them now. Nothing wrong with the Yellow stuff I have on the rear except for the disparity in how much stronger the fronts are to the rear now, so the rear bias is STRONGLY out by mixing pads ! Munching on the Haribo as well now Many thanks Ewen & CMS !
  16. I'd try a different spring personally. The guys in the States like the linear Swift R ones, which Adrian can supply (naturally ), As I find it's the small bit of progression which is possibly the lean in the Teins.
  17. As you know, we're running the same set up, although I have the front driftwork's upper camber arms but also currently set to factory alignment settings. I'm due to go back to Wheels in Motion to have the geo adjusted for my needs which, similar to you is to have sharper turn in, a little less roll would be nice but I've not tried playing with the Eibach bars yet (it's set as Adrian has posted).
  18. Definitely looking forward to the report, and any video if he get's some
  19. I had a look but didn't spot it mate. LOCK time
  20. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-33647552 (apologies for rant mode - even if it's just for myself ) Of course, it's far to easy to jump to conclusions here, I'm going to but I hope I'm totally wrong and it wasn't for what I suspect happened... 22 and 25 - sounds to me like ego. At the end of the day, if you think you're good at driving - you aren't, you're shi7 - even if that's a lot of experience on 'track days' since you were a kid, it's not the same as driving on a road, let alone alpine passes with severe drops. Anything can happen from rocks falling, retarded cyclists, tourists and other drivers making mistakes, and of course even failures on your own car. Really just a bit of a wake up call for anyone that's willing to listen. And like I said, even just a reminder to myself, sometimes pushing on a bit too much.
  21. If they start looking a bit rough over a while, I'll use the recommended thinner and just sand/smooth down some of the bumps/damage/rash and build up the plastidip again. Funnily enough the first image makes the original colour look really nice but there's ZERO way I can keep them THAT clean Partly why I wanted a dark matte finish, blends with the brake dust
  22. Good to hear they are working nicely on the track (I heard a while back they had some issues coming away from the backing plate), how are they on the road though ? I dig the DS2500's at the mo, just need to get the rears done as well now.
  23. Anyone from here ? Hello if so
  24. I forgot to post some pics:
  25. I didn't get a chance to get under the car yesterday, family things to do but I'll see how long my ones last. The quality of the items felt good to me, I don't disagree about quality items (but they seemed the same to me) time will tell and I WILL sling pics up.
