  1. I need to head out with you in this. Although I'll be adding + 100kg to it
  2. That means your beasty is LIGHTER !
  3. I did my reading first, looked at other cars and since it's not a 'daily' and I have other parts with are solid/poly - it's fine by me but a warning to others for sure. I'm pretty strong, so I reckon I can do it Ok ok ... It's off to Kaizer on Monday morning, after looking at the tutorial here, I didn't fancy it without seeing how it's done first of all: http://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-and-repair/548432-motor-mount-replacement.html Also I have access to a ramp pretty much all of the time now
  4. I shall DEFINITELY record with the damper, without, vibra-technics and maybe with both (video I mean)
  5. So I decided that I'd renew my engine mounts, and Vibra-technics seem to have a good reputation for all sorts of cars. They'll be going on this Monday. It'll be interesting to see how, if at all, there is any difference between these and one of those engine dampers which I installed last week. (that thing definitely works) I got them for £225 including delivery.
  6. Get a bottle of Surfex HD: http://www.bilthamber.com/surfex-hd Poor a little bit into some warm water (just enough water to cover the filter), leave it to soak for a few mins and agitate it with your hands. It'll come up completely clean, and just let it dry out properly. Then do whatever it is you need to do regarding the oil.
  7. Cheers for the heads up. I thought I was having similar problems, so would often have to go: 1-N-2 6-N-5 After having Sly pop the Torque Solutions transmission mount in, that's pretty much eradicated the problems (I still take time going into R). I imagine I have some worn parts as well but it's not had any track use (YET!!!), however I tend to do preventative work so next year I'd look into this mate
  8. This is my friends company that offers the film: http://cgperformance.co.uk/ As for pricing, I honestly don't know as I've not done anything for my car. My friend that applies the Ceramic Pro has just done 3 Cayman GT4's which have been delivered directly from Porsche to him. He has prepped them either prior to film being applied (by 3rd party companies), or has done the CP treatment. Whilst there a 991 GT3RS had come in for the same treatment with film afterwards but that guy wasn't good at all. So, as mentioned you should find a reputable applicator for this kind of stuff.
  9. I have a friend that owns a good company that does this, and another friend that is an authorised applicator for Ceramic Pro. I'd say both are good options, I was thinking of doing half the bumper in film, the other in Ceramic Pro to see which is better And it's certainly a case of how good the person applying the product is, just remember that. If you want any details just ask
  10. Some info here Nissan 350Z Wisefab Lock Kit 65 degrees of lock, parallel steering. As an option, there would be a possibility to buy Ackermann adjustment kit. You could tune your steering geometry either towards positive or negative Ackermann in just a few minutes even at trackside without messing up an alignment. About the same weight as original aluminium suspension. All the metal components on Wisefab 350Z front suspension are from high strenght steel, including sheetmetal components, tubes, tube ends and rod end housings. Rod ends and spherical bearings are used, no rubber bushings. Lower links are replaced with one arm. 2 lower links would have some benefits for circuit racing, but for drifting with higher steering angle the stiffness and packaging would become an issue. Therefore lower one piece arm is used. Higher roll center (RC). Lowering the driftcar is a must to increase performance and handling, but this would mess up the original factory designed kinematics. It lowers the roll center and increases camber gain. On Wisefab knuckle, both joints are dropped, which brings the front RC up on lowered car, providing higher roll stiffness and letting to remove the front anti roll bar (sway bar) that is quite difficult to package with that high lock angles. Very good camber control and minimal bump steer with high steering angles. On drift cars the dynamic camber and bump steer is much more important than static. With our kinematics we have assured that the camber would provide very good front grip and bump steer is minimal at all the range of steering. Steering jacking control. During steering the car chassis is moving up and down – this is called jacking. Steering jacking is caused by combination of caster, KPI, trail and scrub. On road cars, this effect is used sometimes to balance the car or to help to turn in. During drifting, when steering angle is much bigger, jacking is also bigger, even with the same geometry and it could become a problem. We have changed the geometry that it doesn’t cause any handling issues. Consistent and predictable self-alignment torque. Caster is not the only important parameter to provide sufficient self-alignment torque especially at high lock. It’s the combination of different parameters to maintain consistent trail and self-alignment torque. With our setup the steering wheel turns always to the direction of movement and doesn’t get stuck at full lock. Adjustable spring and shock absorber motion ratio. The shock lower bracket has 3 attachment possibilities, which allows to change suspension stiffness and handling very quickly. Other components, packaging and clearance. This kit assumes coilovers to have enough clearance. Ride height is designed to be ~80mm from front subframe to ground Dependent on rim width and ET, wider fenders or fender flares would be needed. Inner wheel wellsdo not need to be modified with tire diameter up to 635mm (215/45R17, 225/45R17, 235/40R17, 225/40R18 etc). Minimum rim diameter is 17â€. Recommended backspacing is ~135mm (7“ ET45; 8“ ET35; 9“ ET20). If ET is smaller, then wheels stay more outwards, if ET is bigger, then spacers need to be used. The kit is designed and manufactured the way that after installation and toe adjustment it’s ready to use right away.
  11. Looking forward to the WF stuff going on the car. I'm pretty much down for it on my REAR end Onwards and upwards mate
  12. It'll be in Croydon for about 3 weeks, unless it's not in the way, if it is I'll have to take it to Surrey mate. (weighs about 50kg so won't be lugging it around )
  13. If anyone misses out on these, easy to make and parts are on ebay (just the washer needs a few mm trimming).
  14. Bushing press calamity posts coming soon mate
  15. Unless V10's are back in, F1 can do one.
  16. It might seem overwhelming to start with but all of this info is on the forum already... don't be afraid to search, usually anything you ask has already been asked
  17. Well as it turns out, a 12 ton press arrived this morning - the thing itself must weigh about 12 tons !!! I bought some various bits to help press out specific parts but next month I'll invest in a proper kit. I'll probably offer to do some pressing at some point.
  18. Just a bit firmer, it's fine man Bilstein know how to make good dampers
  19. I have B6's with Tein S springs on my car at the moment, very good quality, maybe a little bumpier at under 30mph but above that far, far superior. Do a search if you want. And it's just a washer, ebay one (maybe George could measure and tell).
  20. Cheers for that, I ordered both the lights and the pin thingy
  21. Well I predominantly drive on the road (not commuting, b-road fun) and will be slinging some track days here and there, I've just bought CL RC5+ pads and will post up on this. I've gone from Yellowstuff, DS2500 and once they arrive RC5+ (standard skimmed discs, ss lines, TYP200 fluid). I thought the YS pads were fine for the road, they didn't let me down I just wanted to try out others.
  22. Also worth checking the US forums for this kind of thing as they tend to have even higher ambient temperatures, which I'm sure doesn't help. Try pasting this into google: site:my350z.com brake cooling & just change the wording to what you want.
  23. Do what they did with the Quattro in the early days of group B - get water spraying onto the discs
  24. I see one major problem there. They don't have a modified tennis ball machine launcher that fires donuts.
  25. I bought a full set of RC5+ to try out. I'll report back soonish, as some other things to do as well.
