  1. Just give yourself plenty of time, and a dry place to do it, ideally a garage or a marquee over you I'd start on a friday evening, so if you run into any problems, you have sat to go and get tools/parts easily. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/94723-rocker-cover-grommets-no-need-to-replace-entire-rc/ You could just try the sealant down the sides first of all, run it for a couple of weeks, check the plugs and see what's happening. Ensure you have something like carb cleaner to hand.
  2. Firstly don't panic - you probably don't need a rebuild unless you've done all of the checks first and smoke is billowing out Whom is doing the checks/work on your car ? (trying to establish if they are a specialist or not) As the others have said, check it and top it up yourself. Lewis_UK is spot on there. If it's using oil it's worth popping an oil catch can (or two) on. Check the spark plugs for oil - if so replace the valve covers or get the kit to repair it. I used a kit but I've noticed that there is a bit of oil on the plugs again so I'll try some more sealant but in the recess between the seal/valve cover and the metal plug tube this time. Start an account with opieoils and ensure you take advantage of their offers - especially the 5ltr tubs
  3. Cheers for jotting that down ! At some point I want to do the manifolds as well, plus the clutch/flywheel - and depending on timing, I guess it makes sense to do it at the same time. Like yourself, I'll be using a ramp I was thinking perhaps a combination of crow feet + wobble extension for any tricky nuts/bolts.
  4. Only the quattro is allowed to sound like Flipper.
  5. You can jack the car up, put it on axle stands - fit them at the same length as the originals. Easy. Ideally to adjust them, put blocks of wood under the car, when it's on a flat surface, then you can adjust the lengths shorter/longer as required. See this post: http://www.350z-uk.c...riving-me-nuts/ Or just search on google, doesn't matter what car, the principle is the same.
  6. Go to Wheels in Motion, worth the journey.
  7. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/interior/leather-care/cat_112.html Personally I think Zaino Z9 is possibly the best one there, I don't like shiny leather and this stuff gives an absolutely amazing matte finish exactly like new. Use a nice soft bristle brush to apply it, then a microfibre to wipe away any excess. I'm guessing a kit might have some leather paint/dye in there to go over any cracks, obviously the Z9 isn't for that.
  8. Don't make lightened ones mate, they are CRAP, a decent weighted one is what is good for shifting.
  9. In his one I can hear something like wheel bearings, which are worth checking properly - and I mean on axle stands, wheels and discs off. With yours, I'd just drop it off at a decent Z garage, use a rental for a week whilst they sort it.
  10. Superb looking car, and I'm pretty sure a few lucky mates have names down too Funnily enough my recent favourite cars have been born from the US ! Top of the list is the Viper ACR, once again, two very lucky mates have them coming - I just hope they are willing to let me have a pootle, even in a car park
  11. Remove it, and take a photo, or carry it with you to Halfords/Eurocar parts etc.
  12. Unless I'm misunderstanding you... It's JUST an exhaust gasket Buy one that's the right size (you could even walk into Halfords and get one), and if you want a more durable one contact Torqen, he has beefier than usual.
  13. I think you should name the place that did this, and for everyone else to avoid them !
  14. Absolutely mega wheels there, I just can't stand that exhaust - but that's possibly due to no bum on the car
  15. I'm really enjoying it so far but I don't think I'll be playing it if I am tired or in a bad mood I made the mistake of first jumping in the Peugeot 208 T16 and tried to make a stab at climbing a [wet] Pikes Peak. Not a chance. Couldn't even round the first corner haha. Back to the Mini until I've learned to drive it a bit better. I got the 'Legends Edition' too which is pretty cool. I pretty much did the same in the Quattro Exactly the same conclusion, start at the beginning and work your way up ! Difficult but rewarding.
  16. When you get a chance, please can you PM regarding the diff please
  17. You can buy a sound meter from ebay/amazon. It'll give you a fairly reasonable approximation. http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5&Itemid=22
  18. Bought and played Dirt Rally (xbox one), absolutely bloody brilliant !!!! Finally a PROPER rally game with decent handling, tracks/stages/cars, amazing sound and nice graphics. Fairly unforgiving, so be patient and get used to it
