  1. Nice review but you missed out that the Zed looks a million times better than a Eurobox Pete
  2. There'll almost certainly be a huge hike in his insurance premiums, it's not like he can keep it quiet. Pete I doubt insurance companies really checks. I know some immigrants who doesn't have driving license still gets insured. Or people who have made a claim and forge their NCB. Insurance companies have access to The DVLA drivers database, but of course they don't run every person through it. No idea if the police will inform the insurance company or not when someone is banned but presumably they (the insurance companies) do read the papers and watch the news. I've never yet had to produce my license to get insurance so I don't see your point about immigrants. Pete

  4. That's just incredible! Pete
  5. Yes, especially as the 350Z has an amazingly air tight tank. Pete
  6. 132.....that's faster than I've ever driven in my life Pete
  7. The time has come to get something with 4 seats sadly. What we have here is a 350Z Roadster in Twilight Grey that has been owned by my wife Caroline for the past 6 years. Here are the vital statistics. Registered in May 2008. Twilight Grey Caroline is the second owner Mileage......30,500 Last Serviced in May 2016 M.O.T until May 2017 New Hood fitted yesterday, an expensive professional job, not a £300 special. EDIT, New battery fitted 2016, further edits may follow , indeed run on 98 RON except when Caroline puts fuel in which isn't very often Thanks for looking. Pete
  8. Depends on the redundancy terms TBH, if your company only offers the minimum by law then I'd just look for another job, if on the other hand they offer an enhanced redundancy package then its worth looking at. I was made redundant from British Steel some 36 years ago and had another job to go to and with the severance pay on top of the enhanced package came away with 2 years salary tax free . Pete
  9. You can reprogram the key fob to open both doors with one tap on the key fob. It's pretty easy, there's a guide somewhere on here. Pete
  10. I have done exactly the same at Alton Towers When I went to Disney in Florida I decided that I wouldn't make the same mistake twice. Got there pretty early and made a note that I was parked in Lot "P". It went pretty well. I found Lot "P" fairly quickly but the problem was that Lot "P" was about the size of 3 football fields and I had no idea which part of it I'd parked in. Didn't help that the hire Car looked the same as most of the cars parked up . Pete
  11. A few years ago we went to Alton Towers and I parked my car up without noting where I'd parked it . Took about 40 minutes to find it Pete
  12. Very true, I would also add that a good driver also knows his or hers limits and drives within them. Pete
  13. I'm not a Tory but I'd say a safe pair of hands, it will be interesting to see her cabinet. Pete
  14. The best World Cup tournaments I've seen were in Mexico 1970, Argentina in 1978 and France 1998. Magical names like Pele, Rivelino, Jarzinho, Kempes, Zidane, Ronaldo (The other one). 1974 and 1982 were also great world cups, who can forget Tardelli's celebration in 1982 or Michael Owen's wonder goal in 1998. This tournament just threw up one great player, Antoine Griezmann. Coaching and packing defenses means that it's difficult to beat teams like The Faroe Islands , Luxembourg, San Marino, etc, that used to be cannon fodder. Pete
  15. Worst major tournament I've watched and I've seen every one since 1966. Only one outstanding player really and he was on the losing side. It says a lot to me when a small island country reaches the last 8 and a team with one world class player, one decent player and a bunch of journeymen reaches the semi finals..Let's hope that the world cup in 2 years time is a lot better. Pete
  16. Every cloud has a silver lining, Caroline just won £120 in her office sweepstake Pete
  17. I had an advisory on my 1st MOT, January 2009 that by brake linings at the front were close to the limit, only had 5k on the clock. Next 2 MOT's, same garage no mention of them. Still haven't changed them. Pete
  18. We've got loads of cats and over the years have had close to 50. I've yet to have a cat that didn't bury its poo and cover it up or at least attempt to. It's an instinct that pre dates cats domestication, they do it to hide their presence from larger predators. There are occasions when they don't cover their poop, usually when there are lots of male cats from different households who are laying claim to the same piece of territory. Males will often spray but it's not quite the same as marking by pooping, it tells other cats the time that the cat was around so other cats can share the territory but not at the same time. Female cats also spray but its fairly rare. Pete
  19. Yes, I paid around 10k for a brand new Capri 2.8i in 1985. I got it at a reduced price as the Capri 2.8i Special was out by then, list price 12.5k. Good ones fetch from 12-15k some 30 years later, a Brooklands or Tickford one would probably fetch a lot more though as they are very rare (just like The GT4). Pete
