  1. I love shiney lips on rims Those lips remind me of some shiney stainless steel lips found on some Team Dynamics wheels such as their Equinox rims http://www.team-dynamics.com/wheeldetail.php?Equinox I'd presume stainless steel is much harder wearing than chrome or polished and easier to clean up. Fingers crossed these are stainless steel. Only disadvantage with the stainless steel lips was weight. In fact Team Dynamics even did a rim replacement service http://www.team-dynamics.com/page.php?identity=options Shame SSW don't Good luck anyway. Enjoy them for now. If I was in your shoes, when time came I had to do something I'd try test polishing a tiny spot where the spoke meets the rim. You never know, they might be stainless steel and as easy to polish as exhaust tips
  2. Costco in Manchester always have Edge 0w30 and 5w30 I'd buy those instead if I had a choice. A 30 weight is recommend but the manual says 5w40 would be OK in our climate. So it won't kill your engine if you needed it asap, but if not desperate just look for a good synthetic 30 weight.
  3. When I got my first house, the garage had a concrete floor. I used it as a gym so wanted a warmer easy clean floor. I used off cuts of left over carpet as an underlay and then a cheap piece of end of roll vinyl/lino ontop. Was still good after 15 yrs of constant use. Warmer and easy to mop up the sweat Dead cheap too.
  4. It's amazing how a discreet carpet covered "Z" on my divider brings a nice feeling inside when reversing and seeing it over my shoulder. Little things eh.... Thanks again 14N
  5. Hi Gus I'm about 30 min drive from Altrincham. I've got an 05 DE coupe. Had from new and drives as new. You're welcome to come for a drive and a look around mine. I am so busy though that it would have to be after 9pm. I'm based in Cheadle South Manchester.
  6. Looks like you've found a nice low mileage example
  7. What if you paid extra for legal protection? Would that pay for such investigation? Or is it a worthless add on?
  8. +1 on Lockwood and greenwood. They were recommended to me by other forum members. They've been servicing my zed for the last 7 years. Loads if NW members use them and I reckon they see more Zeds than the local Nissan main dealers. A Micra courtesy car is available. If you don't mind them driving your zed they will even do a pick up and delivery service to you if you are local. They will give forum discount and don't mind you supplying your own parts. Many moons ago they were a Nissan garage but found staying in the franchise non viable. However........they still have their original Nissan service stamp! SO YOUR SERVICE BOOK WILL STILL HAVE NISSAN STAMPS
  9. Also, if you came to sell it on in the future, it would be easier to sell a defect free one even if it was purely cosmetic.
  10. Good to hear things are running better now. Just regular oil level checks now to make sure things are ok......best done overnight from now on
  11. I love the name TITAN. If Optimus Prime was ever reincarnated as a pick-up, it would be this
  12. Oops......sorry link didn't work. But yes....that's the beast. Thanks for the fix
  13. http://img-2.gizmag.com/nissan-titan-warrior-concept-2.jpg?auto=format&ch=Width%2CDPR&fit=crop&h=394&q=60&rect=79%2C25%2C1830%2C1029&w=700 I reckon this is one of the nicest new Nissan designs for a while. No need to worry about 0-60 times or handling. Just cruise around "like a boss"
  14. I have had a few occasions over the past 10 years where the inside screen is dripping wet with condensation. I'm sure I've no leaks as this is not rain related. If you've no leaks and want to minimise the problem, try some of the silica bag type in car dehumidifier bags.
  15. I can't offer any help with the noise I'm afraid. The oil pressure does increase with the revs and drop again when you take your foot off the gas. However, once warm the lowest my DE will drop to is a touch under the 1/4 marker. I'm also quite sure running with too much oil is not good. To get an accurate oil reading it's best to leave the car for several hours or overnight. If I remember correctly from L to H on the dipstick is almost a litre. Hope everything works out.
  16. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/60924-best-site-for-deep-dish-rims-for-350z/page__st__20__hl__+cragus%20+sale#entry904626 I loved Cragus' black Zed. Check the rims on post 27 His rims were a lovely Matt dark grey with red lip. Red calipers would then of course be mandatory!
  17. How about a retro arcade theme along the lines of Pac Man. Each car could be one of the coloured ghosts and one Pac Man himself. Not sure how expensive that would be.
  18. When I had Tyres fitted last year I gave the bloke an extra £20 to take extra care. He was real careful. Especially when breaking the bead with his lever. But where the machine clamped onto the rim you can see a slight mark on the lip like swirls in the lacquer. I just accepted it as one of those things as I couldn't see how he could have avoided it. With the others he reverse mounted the rim on the machine face down on 4 thumb sized plastic chips. I think we were both sweating as he lowered the face down trying to balance it on these Anyway, from now on it looks like a more stress free procedure for both me and the fitter
  19. This is a YouTube video of the machine in action
  20. Rim friendly Manchester Tyre Services I visited MANCHESTER TYRE SERVICES in Openshaw today. Great family run place. They have 2 tyre machines. The regular Megamount and the all singing all dancing Megamount Smart. The Megamount Smart uses metal free plastic components in contact with the rim. No more worries about marks on your rims come tyre change Just make sure you request the Megamount Smart machine!
  21. That clay mitt will save you alot of time. I have the same one and will only use regular clay for awkward corners now.
  22. Welcome along. I had my zed about 3 years before joining here too! Very surprised one of your Rays buckled. Always thought these were tough forged rims. How did it happen? Anyway nice to see another sunset owner
  23. Welcome to the OC. What part of the country are you from........and don't forget pics of Zed
  24. Just googled that colour....... Mesmerizing. Kinda like midnight purple with azure and a mix of fairy dust
