  1. My Zed nightmares are more to do with theft of car or rims. Wife will often tell me if I have a nightmare.......AFTER THE FACT. "yeh.....figured you were having a nightmare....you were sweating and murmering!" But did she wake me.......HELL NO! On the flipside. One night my sleep is rudely disrupted with my wife shaking me "oi....wake up.......what you grinning about? Gave her strict instructions. Cold sweats and trembling.......wake me up ASAP. Grinning and smiling.....leave me the **** alone and let me sleep
  2. For a second I thought I saw a body underneath the passenger side of the EVO after it slid into the side road Was it just tyre debris? So many comments on Liveleak on how unfortunate it was the EVO didn't crash. I think it was really FORTUNATE and hopefully was the perfect experience to educate the driver to be more cautious and realise nomatter how good the car he is not invincible. Hopefully a life changing experience the driver will never forget
  3. Years ago I returned to my sunset orange coupe to find a parking ticket. Read it as follows. ...... Make: Nissan Model: 350z Colour: UNKNOWN?
  4. I polished my headlights in July too. Used Gtechniq C4 on top as a uv barrier. Early days yet but so far still look pristine.
  5. Both rides are looking mighty fine. Love the paint and the rims on your Supra.
  6. Zed looks great under forecourt lights. Enjoy the car AND the owners club
  7. A new guy at work commented on my Zed. First question was quite expected........"I'm liking the body mods, any changes to the engine?" Second question almost left me speechless. "IS IT A DIESEL?"
  8. Had my Nismo V1 fibreglass front end for 10years and no cracks. Even with stock suspension I have had some minor scrapes on the underside of the front where not visable. This is usually driving onto raised driveways where the road dips into the curbside and the drive is then on an incline ie double whammy. Never scraped a speedbump. I do avoid many a multistorey car park though
  9. Mine was the clock spring. Available 2nd hand on ebay. My independent garage charged about £100 to supply and fit He advised caution sourcing myself as if the old one had been "turned" or fiddled with it could be easily damaged. So if you get one yourself DON'T TWIST OR FIDDLE WITH IT
  10. ^+1 on Dennis Hopper vs Christopher Walkden. What a line to spin to the bad guy in sich a situation!
  11. Congratulations on choosing a Zed and finding the owners club. The OC is fantastic and really makes zed ownership that extra bit special.
  12. When my zed was 3yrs old and out of warranty I left the main dealers and ran on Mobil1 0w40 for 5 yrs followed by 2 yrs on Castrol Edge 0w30 and my DE engine hasn't shown any noticeable oil consumption at all This is all normal driving though There will be better oils for extreme track use.
  13. I'm sure you'll be fine. 0w30 5w30 0w40 and 5w40 are all listed in the handbook as being ok for the zed, with 5w30 being the recommended viscosity.
  14. I don't do arty french films bu this comedy is one of my all time favourites Le Diner de Cons (the dinner game) Made in '98 with a poor American remake not long ago.
  15. I've not had to recharge or repair my AC in 10 years and it's still icy cold in summer
  16. Could be moisture in the AC system that condenses during use and sits there once it's switched off. Like you say, switching it on clears the moisture but as soon as you turn car off and restart but with AC off you can smell that damp musty smell. Option 1 Keep AC on permanently. Option 2 If you use your AC, 5 mins before you end your journey turn AC off and heater on high. This dries off any moisture that has condensed in the system so that next day when you start car with AC off NO SMELL You should run the AC on at least once every week or so even in winter or the pipes dry out, crack and leak resulting in no AC come summer time. In winter turning heater on with AC acts like a dehumidifier. Don't have to run the AC on cold during winter!
  17. Third option that I went for. Bought 2 new rears. Kept the old one. 2 yrs later I got another puncture on one of the rears. By that time the tread on the spare matched the other one and I was good to go Do I count myself lucky or unlucky I suppose if you consider the 2nd hand value not worthwhile you could keep it as a spare if you had space to store it.
  18. It might be a colour Porsche offer coz I've seen a similar 911 numerous times here in Manchester. Either that or them Porker lovers have great taste in choosing a colour for a respray!
  19. Looks spot on to me. Amazing how new rims transform a car
  20. The big question is HOW MUCH you wanna keep your Zed. I was truly smitten when I bought mine in 05 expecting a sprog free life. In 08 Isabella came along. Our other car was a 2006 mini so pressure was on me to change the zed. Amazingly we managed for 3 years using the Mini as our family car......then sprog number 2 came along! Pressure once again to sell up. Convinced the missus that the Mini cost peanuts to run as a third car and bought a Kia Sportage keeping the Zed. Now both my kids are able to ride in the Zed and love it. Our family is complete, wife, 2 kids and my Zed The biggest hurdle is the first year insurance with zero ncb on a 2nd car. With 1 yr ncb the insurance for me dropped to £295. Along with tax at about £200 and servicing at £100-200 it is not much more than the depreciation on selling the zed and paying to change (probably up) with associated future depreciation hit there too.
  21. Nice to see another sunset owner. Welcome to the OC from an 05 sunset owner.
  22. Car looks great in those pics. You must be well chuffed. Enjoy the zed and the owners club
  23. This pillar looks too small to accommodate tht aerial. I have a JVC unit on the side of the front windscreen which is discreet. My installer tucked the wires under the trim easily and neatly.
  24. Once I was just planning a Manchester to London trip. Evening beforehand I checked tyre pressure. One was down. Jacked her up and there was a screw inthe rear tyre. Gutted i had to take the Mini instead but dread to think of the damage or worse if I'd been going to London on that tyre!
  25. Those are some tasty looking seats you have picked out Hopefully fitting is straight forward and I look forward to seeing fitted pics.
