  1. If that doesn't work it could be the clock spring airbag thingy behind the steering wheel. Had mine fail earlier this year. An independent may be able to source a 2nd hand one and fit for around £100
  2. In the famous words from BAD BOYS 2.........Woooooossssaaaaa Worked for me today as I was ferrying the kids sboutin the family wagon. Some turd in a 15 plate R8 weaving in and out of the dual carriageway, lights on full beam despite sunny day to warn people of his presence. Undertook me to squeeze in front until he could repeat his weaving and undertaking again. Traffic was busy and steady so he didn't gain much ground. By chance we stopped side by side at lights further down. Felt like getting out and shaking some sense into him...... Alas WOOOOOOSSSSAAAAA and tranquility is restored
  3. Is he just "saying" that he's owned all these cars or do you reckon he's blagging. I find it very hard to believe anyone would prefer the bus unless the commute was a painfully slow crawl all the way with parking difficulties at the end. It's kinda like saying "I've had all the fittest/hottest girls but now I prefer a little alone time with a box of Kleenex! "
  4. To the bystanding public who spot you in your Zed it's probably as rare a sight now as in the early days when first released. So the reactions would still be similar to almost a decade ago. I bet no E46 330ci owner can muster the same attention as a 350z  In fact I think the reactions are MORE positive now than when mine was new 10 yrs ago. Back then there was some jealousy as people knew it was a £30k motor, whereas now people know it's within MOST driver's budget it's more admiration for what is and not what it's worth.
  5. I reckon I've lost about £24k Paid £30k for a GT Coupe with a factory Nismo kit in 2005. Spent an additional £2k on 19' LMGT4s and LED rear lights. Over the past 10 yrs it's probably only about £2.5k/yr and only gonna get better..........BARGAIN My only regret is not buying it when it sooner!
  6. Seems like you're a lucky man Far2lively. Can't get a cheaper fix than a tap on the gauge Reminds me of a cheap fix I had when all the lights lit up on the dash...TCS/ABS/ESP and all I needed was a brake pedal switch Fingers crossed you have many trouble free miles to come.
  7. Curse this thread. Nightmare last night my zed got stripped down to a shell
  8. That is legendary! You win hands down as the most dedicated kebab lover GAME OVER FOR THE REST OF US
  9. I've worked just off the curry mile in Manchester for 20years and have gone there almost every lunchtime! I love them all. Have to be on a naan. EVERYTHING on. For a chicken tikka.........Afghan Cuisine (they do it just right, big chunks and never dried out on the grill) (their kobeda kebabs are great too, like a doner/seek hybrid) Chicken/lamb shwarma.......Atlas Shwarma (cheap but fresh) Seek kebabs.......Sajaan is my favourite at the moment (huge portions ) I love chicken donner too, but damn that red food colouring is messy and almost semi permanent on your hands AND LIPS I'm just a greedy bugger so I'll summarise with I LOVE EM ALL........AND MY FAV PLACE IS THE ENTIRE CURRY MILE
  10. Apparently the police do have a profile to look out for when doing stop and search. Years back my mate got stopped in his 200sx at night. Not speeding. Coppers told him he just fitted the profile as a young asian lad in a fast car. He didn't get any other hassle as soon as they saw his elderly dad in the front and mum in the back!
  11. My Zed nightmares are more to do with theft of car or rims. Wife will often tell me if I have a nightmare.......AFTER THE FACT. "yeh.....figured you were having a nightmare....you were sweating and murmering!" But did she wake me.......HELL NO! On the flipside. One night my sleep is rudely disrupted with my wife shaking me "oi....wake up.......what you grinning about? Gave her strict instructions. Cold sweats and trembling.......wake me up ASAP. Grinning and smiling.....leave me the **** alone and let me sleep
  12. For a second I thought I saw a body underneath the passenger side of the EVO after it slid into the side road Was it just tyre debris? So many comments on Liveleak on how unfortunate it was the EVO didn't crash. I think it was really FORTUNATE and hopefully was the perfect experience to educate the driver to be more cautious and realise nomatter how good the car he is not invincible. Hopefully a life changing experience the driver will never forget
  13. Years ago I returned to my sunset orange coupe to find a parking ticket. Read it as follows. ...... Make: Nissan Model: 350z Colour: UNKNOWN?
  14. I polished my headlights in July too. Used Gtechniq C4 on top as a uv barrier. Early days yet but so far still look pristine.
  15. Both rides are looking mighty fine. Love the paint and the rims on your Supra.
  16. Zed looks great under forecourt lights. Enjoy the car AND the owners club
  17. A new guy at work commented on my Zed. First question was quite expected........"I'm liking the body mods, any changes to the engine?" Second question almost left me speechless. "IS IT A DIESEL?"
  18. Had my Nismo V1 fibreglass front end for 10years and no cracks. Even with stock suspension I have had some minor scrapes on the underside of the front where not visable. This is usually driving onto raised driveways where the road dips into the curbside and the drive is then on an incline ie double whammy. Never scraped a speedbump. I do avoid many a multistorey car park though
  19. Mine was the clock spring. Available 2nd hand on ebay. My independent garage charged about £100 to supply and fit He advised caution sourcing myself as if the old one had been "turned" or fiddled with it could be easily damaged. So if you get one yourself DON'T TWIST OR FIDDLE WITH IT
  20. ^+1 on Dennis Hopper vs Christopher Walkden. What a line to spin to the bad guy in sich a situation!
  21. Congratulations on choosing a Zed and finding the owners club. The OC is fantastic and really makes zed ownership that extra bit special.
  22. When my zed was 3yrs old and out of warranty I left the main dealers and ran on Mobil1 0w40 for 5 yrs followed by 2 yrs on Castrol Edge 0w30 and my DE engine hasn't shown any noticeable oil consumption at all This is all normal driving though There will be better oils for extreme track use.
  23. I'm sure you'll be fine. 0w30 5w30 0w40 and 5w40 are all listed in the handbook as being ok for the zed, with 5w30 being the recommended viscosity.
  24. I don't do arty french films bu this comedy is one of my all time favourites Le Diner de Cons (the dinner game) Made in '98 with a poor American remake not long ago.
