  1. Welcome aboard. As has been said earlier your problems don't sound serious. The clicky axle and rusted flange between back box and mid pipe are such common problems they can almost be considered "part of the zed experience" The flange can be welded for around £60 or you can use it as an excuse for a new stainless system. Sometimes a re grease of the CV joints will cure the click but if the warranty will shell out for new joints all the better. Don't let these points put you off the car. Happy zedding
  2. My mate had a ticking under braking from one wheel and he found out that he hadn't tightened the nuts properly after getting it refurbished
  3. I hope the Lambo driver with the taser takes a good long hard look at his actions on the video....... Giving him time to reflect and see the error of his ways ..... so he can carry TWO tasers in future in case there are more than one perp to deal with
  4. Have Scorpion shown any intention on doing OEM looking rolled tailpipe tips as well as their slashed cut ones?
  5. 6 years ago when my daughter was born we had my wife's R50 mini as our family car and I kept the zed. It's only when our 2nd kid arrived 3 yrs later that we outgrew the mini. There are quite a few prams that fit in the mini boot with the passenger floor and seat available for shopping and bags. For the odd occasion when it wasn't enough space for a big shop we'd take both cars but this was quite rare. Now I've 2 kids we bought a suv and I've kept the mini as a 3rd car. It's an 06 Cooper so not worth much to trade in. Couple hundred quid to tax. Now with 2yrs no claims as a 3rd car £250 to insure. Has been cheap to service. So for me is well worth keeping in order to have my zed and a 2nd baby carrier. My kids are now old enough to sit in the zed in front facing seats and both love it.
  6. Seems like a lot of hiphop fans here and nice to see you all giving props to the UK artists too. My wife reckons all hiphop makes me ANGRY
  7. Ooops....wrong track. Meant to recommend BATTLE RIDDIM by Tempa T. NEXT HYPE comes a close second I challenge any martial artist (to watch the vid and not want to go punch something)
  8. Tempa T Next hype. My all time favourite track before sparring/fighting. The anime vid made by AMV to this tune just adds that extra "punch to the jaw!"
  9. Maybe its an effort prevent people parking too close and causing door dings.
  10. Dr Leather wipes got mine matt again. May need multple hits if realy bad. Got good reviews on detailing world. Can be ordered from envyvaleting.co.uk.
  11. I had a similar problem a few months ago. After a few minutes driving I would dab the brakes and the following lights would stay on the dash ABS ESP TRACTION CONTROL. When someone checked the rear for me we noticed the brake lights came on very very faintly and the third brake light not at all. Others on the forum then pointed me to the brake light switch behind the brake pedal. If you are lucky it may have just come loose and need tightening otherwise a new switch is a 5 min job to fit. http://cornerbalance.wordpress.com/2013/01/26/diy-350zg35-brake-lights-dont-work-aka-the-easiest-install-youll-ever-do/
  12. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/thieves-suspected-using-devices-open-7546201 A new spate of car crime in my area where the theives are gaining entry to vehicles and overriding the car alarms. Just a heads up.
  13. I was at a service station petrol station. A dodgy couple asked for a lift. Was never gonna say yes but politely replied "sorry......but no space for you inside" Looking p!$$ed off the bloke peers through the window and then giggled to his partner "f@ck me luv......he's only got 2 seats in there" He waved me off smiling
  14. I can't help with the back box but as for dents in the door/parking dings I highly recommend www.dent-specialists.co.uk They are based in Bolton but will come to north and central Manchester. I'm based in South Manchester and it only took me 25 mins to drive to their Saturday drop in clinic in Bolton. If you go to them in Bolton you'll get a much better price. They advertise £40 per ding but did 4 dings in my door for £50! The discount is better if there are multiple dings on the same panel. Call Paul Martin there on 07779660345 and tell him the Chinese guy with the orange Zed recommend you
  15. I have a golden rule. Never trust anyone who doesn't have a phone OR A TELLY They are either scammers or wierdos!
  16. Ooops....... Just viewed the attached image. The dents-specialists only do dints/dings.......sorry mate
  17. These guys did FOUR dings in my door for £50! www.dent-specialists.co.uk. And they are damn good too as they were all on the crease. Highly recommended on the Golf Gti forum http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/88546-dent-specialists-boltonhighly-recommended/page__hl__dent-specialists
  18. I was in a similar situation 3 yrs ago when my 2nd kid came along. Wife had a mini and me the zed. Most practical thing would be 1. Sell the zed, wife get a bigger family car and I DRIVE THE MINI COOPER 2. Sell both cars, wife gets bigger family car and me a sporty 4 seater. In the end we kept both and got a 3rd family car. Very glad I did despite having to insure the mini starting on zero ncb. Now with 3 yrs ncb the mini is only £180 to insure and £200 to tax, basically a few tanks of petrol for the zed. So I got to keep the zed I'd had from new (saving over £20k in depreciation) AND got a 3rd car not just for when we both need to carry the kids separately but if the zed or mini get any glitches
  19. I've had a few dings in my passenger door for over a year. Never found time to get it sorted til today. A friend on the Golf Gti forum recommended these guys http://www.dent-specialists.co.uk/ They service Manchester too. The big plus side is 1. They've been around for years. 2. They're based on a large used car site servicing about 8 dealers and always busy. Ie. Loads of experience and don't get to let the skills go rusty 3. On Saturday morning they have a drop in service at the Bolton centre (this works out cheaper as they have no travelling time) and was more convenien for me too. Anyway I had 4 dings right on the crease of the passenger door fixed for £50 Even taking into account the 25 min drive there and back from South Manchester it's a bargain. WARNING If you approach by the side entrance to the BOC used car complex you'll be greeted by the most monstrous speed humps I've ever seen so reverse out and use the entrance on Manchester Road near the Shell garage. 4.
  20. Just want to say a big thank you to "gort". The you tube link to resetting the light worked a treat. This is the 2nd time in 1 month the forum has helped me. Not long ago tcs/esp/abs lights were lit up and was correctly diagnosed as a simple brake light switch. You guys out there really add to the joys of "zedness"
  21. I used TURTLEWAX HEADLIGHT RESTORATION KIT on Sunday. Similar to the Megs kit previously posted. 4 different grades of pads. Spray bottle of lube for the pads. Bottle of refining polish. Base coat sealer wipe. Topcoat sealer wipe. I corrected my lights a while back with a machine and some Menzerna polishes but the oxidation started to return so gave this a shot. Only needed to use the compound on mine. Couldn't be bothered getting the machine out and masking off. So I did it by hand using an old sock Came up nice real fast using firm pressure. About 5 hits tops did the job. Then used the sealant wipes which need 24 hours to cure. WARNING The final top coat sealer wipe is too saturated with sealant. The first light I did has a slight rippling due to excess sealant similar to paint brush strokes. Second one and my rear lights were fine as there was no longer excess on the wipe. If doing again I would use a kitchen towel to remove excess sealant from the wipe before using. However this definitely shows the sealant lays a protective top coat. The kit is available in most large Tescos for £12
  22. Received my boot popper spring. Despite only replacing one missing spring boot no longer needs a double click. I will fit the brake switch tomorrow. Many thanks
  23. I used Gtechniq C4 on the wife's 06 mini 2 yrs ago. It's on the drive exposed to the sun and the C4 has only just started to fade on the rear that catches the sun the most. Big from me that stuff.
  24. Unplugged my brake switch today. Clicked the relay several times. Cleaned the contacts. Replaced. BRAKE LIGHTS NOW WORKING. ALL DRIVER AIDS BACK TO NORMAL Still ordering a new switch as I reckon the old one is 9 yrs old and probably dying. So to Gudzy, Beavis and Grundy for correct answer and further thanks to everyone else who offered advice.
