  1. I'll be very honest, if I was a cyclist I wouldn't use these shared paths as the pedestrians would slow me down. Then when the path ends I'd have to slow down to join the normal road as if there was an extra junction. So in this case I'm not really having a dig at cyclists but more the numpties that think spending thousands on such a project is a worthwhile.
  2. A while back, a road on my daily commute underwent major roadworks. They made the pavement 4x wider to create a shared pedestrian cycle lane sign posted with a blue circle with a cycle and people on it. The roads were obviously narrowed to accommodate this and the speed limit reduced from 40 to 30 to reflect this. Problem is, 99% of cyclists don't use this and drive on the narrow road which is no longer wide enough for cars to overtake if there is traffic on the other side. Either very bad planning or someone has taken a backhander in the planning/contracting. Anyone else seen similar shared paths which cyclists actually use?
  3. Amazing martial arts skills for anyone let alone a 5 yr old http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzXL-KM2UqU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  4. I'm 43 and struggled with HSBC to get a mortgage of 1.2x income despite a 60% deposit. Self employed status maybe complicated things but been with HSBC 25 Yrs. Used a broker LONDON AND COUNTRY in the end and got 2.3x income. Very fast service. Daily updates. Their fees paid for by lenders not by purchasers.
  5. Sorry to hear you didn't get a zed today. All places will have an off moment at times and as you said there are plenty of others to look at. If it's any consolation I had an even worse experience buying new 10 years ago. Already had a test drive with West Way Nissan Manchester. Decided on the colour and specced up to the max with Nismo 19s and bodykit. Booked an appointment to sign and leave a deposit. On arrival I'm told the salesman is a bit behind, have a seat an a coffee. 45 minutes later and nobody has spoken to me at all. I go to the reception to complain and am told he'd popped out to take a customer out on a test drive just before I came and should be back soon! Now for someone waiting to give you over £30k THAT WAS APPALLING! Booked appointment with Stockport and left immediately.
  6. Check the boot stays open. Sometimes the gas struts fail and the boot will fall on your head whilst loading stuff in the boot. Also a common problem is needing to press boot release button twice to open it as the popping springs weaken. This is an easier fix though using a couple of nylon washers added inside the popper. Good luck
  7. The nursery had an egg incubator and hatched some chicks. Cute....fluffy....yellow....chicks. Guess what they feed them? SCRAMBLED EGGS! Is it just me or does this sound awful.
  8. Looking nice n mean
  9. Well it's almost 10yrs since I took delivery of my Zed. Thought I'd ask fellow members if I've overlooked any servicing specifics at 10 yrs. She's booked in for a P2 service and m.o.t next week. Ordered spark plugs, gearbox and diff oil from Clarke Motorsport. Asking my indie garage to do coolant and brake fluid. Had new pads 10k ago. I don't do mega miles and have only 43k on the clock but now got a squeak from rear when it's bumpy. Hopefully it gets diagnosed correctly on the day.
  10. This is the last weekend of the 20% discount at Costco. 4 litres of Castrol Edge FST 5W30 4 litres of Castrol Edge Titanium FST 0w30 All £26.99 including vat. Not seen a better price than this for Castrol's finest!
  11. Seeing threads like this shows how much damage can be done in RTAs. Glad to hear you are all ok. Was only a couple years back we lost a member to a road accident
  12. I'm glad you found the forum. It really adds to the enjoyment of zed ownership. Great source of info on zed's and members will often help with advice on many non zed related topics too.
  13. Looking good Is that a champagne silver respray or just the lighting? Either way it sets the zed off a treat!
  14. First job is a pin to unblock the washer jets. Hopefully this works. if not the blockage could be further down the pipework. Once one of my cars actually had the water reservoir full of algae causing the blockage......ewwww.
  15. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/88546-dent-specialists-boltonhighly-recommended/page__fromsearch__1 There you go......found the link^
  16. For dings I think it's deffo worthwhile getting a PDR guy to massage them out. If you are anywhere near Bolton I know a great place that has a Saturday drop in clinic. Guy is very busy and ciz he spends zero time travelling on the Saturday prices are VERY good!
  17. Matt.......the zed looks purrrrfect. I can't see anything else that you'd need to do looks wise. Enjoy the summer in your chariot
  18. When my battery failed, when I turned the key the alarm went off and car still started.
  19. Back in 2006 I wanted to get the missus an R50 Cooper S. She hated it on the test drive. Hated the ride and the gear change. The sales woman could tell so offered another test drive in her own standard Cooper. Wife said it was night and day finding it much easier to drive. So bought her the Cooper on standard 15's. So far in 9 years of ownership we've been lucky. Just a leaking thermostat housing in year 3. Oh.... and a wierd howling/wind noise when I hit about 80mph (on a trackday  ). Not a problem for us as its hardly ever on a motorway but could bug the hell out of a heavy motorway user! Going in for a new exhaust tomorrow due to a rusted back box which is quite common but cheap fix. eBay exhausts from around £60, but gonna try a custom stainless long life one for £375. My favourite option is the heated seats which puts the Zed's to shame. Freezing to toasty in 10-15 seconds on our cloth seats! Happy hunting
  20. Love sunset orange. Always find that an overcast day never does it justice. But at night.......under lighting, the paint comes alive and is practically glowing
  21. Sorry I can't help about deactivating the airbags but there's always the Nissan Skyline 350GT if you want a 4 seated zed. http://www.9tro.com/features/tuned-cars/nissan-skyline-v35-350gt-infiniti-g35
  22. Welcome back. PS. We never tire of pics of zeds so post up some photos of your newly acquired chariot when you have time
  23. Mmmm......shiney lips. I bet your eyes can't help gazing at your rims when you park up
  24. A big thank you to veef 13. I ordered 3 sets of mats for our cars. Arrived promptly from valuecarmats.com Fit is perfect. Where the OEM mats have retaining holes so do these. Where the OEMs have velcro retainers like in my Mini the new ones do too. Slightly thinner than the originals but only just. The backing is similar to the OEM zed mats, not the foam rubbish that came with my original Mini and Kia mats. The foam stuff is not nearly as hard wearing. I was only charged one p&p charge for the 3 sets and woth the discount code it was about £9.99 a set DELIVERED!
