  1. Like you, I'm finding I don't have those quality 1-3 hour detailing sessions anymore. Lots of great time saving stuff out now. Try Citrus Power degreaser by AutoFinesse. Meant to be a pre wash, but if time is lacking. Go to the garage. Spray on. Leave 5 mins to dwell. Jet wash off. Car will look 95% clean! See the effects on a White Ibiza on this thread with just the above on page 2 of this thread. No touch at all http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=330362&page=2. As for sealants when you do manage a proper wash. Carpro HydrO2. Wash car. Rinse. Spray HydrO2 on wet car. Rinse off. DONE. No "Mr Miyagi" wax on...wax off!
  2. I'm based im Manchester. Not free on Saturday unfortunately. However I am free tomorrow lunchtime or late evening. I own an 05 GT coupe that I've had from new. If you are free tomorrow lunchtime and can pop down to Rusholme, I'll be more than happy to show you round and take you for a ride in my zed. This will give you a baseline against which to compare prospective purchases. In my opinion mine is as fine an example as you'll find for a 9 yr old car..... BUT IM OBVIOUSELY BIASED Pm me your number if you want to hook up.
  3. Situations like this eat at you for a day or two. You feel like you let him get one over on you. Last year I had a very up close and personal confrontation in B&Q. I was next in line at the till. This oaf in a rush just pushed in front and dumped his stuff in front of my rope on the belt. I was gobsmacked. Said the usual "excuse me, I was here first" He replied " not anymore....just deal with it" Asked the lady at the til "are you going to serve this guy after he just pushed in?" She said she "none of my business....I don't want any trouble" and served him. My first thought as rage filled my veins was to grab my rope, round his neck from behind, take him down and strangle the fecker. Calmed down and thought to myself "today I LET a man live to see another day" Then left B&Q, went to my kungfu class and had a really good session:teeth: For a couple days I felt rotten for letting him treat me like that IN PUBLIC. But I got a career a family and responsibilities and not going to risk any repercussions resulting from battering a mindless oaf. You did right. Just think to yourself you LET HIM LIVE:p
  4. Thought I'd sneak in a congratulations in the last few minutes of your birthday. Hope it was a good day. Andy
  5. They are more than happy for you to supply your own parts or oil. Don't forget to mention you are a forum member to get a DISCOUNT!
  6. I reckon they service more zeds than any other Nissan main dealer in Manchester. I been using them for past 5 years.
  7. Firstly big respect to all those who've taken the decision to try and quit. As a dentist I have seen quite a few cases of mouth cancer. Primary cause as you've guesed is smoking. The stats are very alarming. In the UK alone we have 5 deaths a year JUST FROM MOUTH CANCER. The lucky ones we catch in time with surgery but even then it's horrific. Last year one of our patients survived but had to have half his tongue removed along with his lower jaw bone. They rebuilt his mandible with part of his hip. As far as we know, the e cigs cause none of the risks of tobacco as they don't contain the long list of toxins that tobacco has and so I'm more than happy for my patients to be on these long term I instead. At the last post graduate meeting on oral cancer I went to we were told that hopefully e cigs would soon be available from gp's on prescription. This would greatly reduce the cost as products such as patches etc are normally prescbed in a months batch at a time. ECIGS get my thumbs up
  8. Guy got some skills. Never seen some of these kicks before!
  9. Welcome to the forum. Hope your hunt goes well. I'm based in S. Manchester so any questions near the time of purchase let me know. Had my 2005 coupe nearly 9 years and still love it.
  10. I have a single DIN JVC dab head unit. Had the screen mounted aerial. Quality is fine to me and have the option to switch between FM and DAB. Get the occasional drop out in built up areas but never enough to bug me UNLIKE THE ORIGINAL BOSE SKIPPING CD! I only wish I went for the blutooth model.
  11. Insurance is due on the 17th Jan. Adrian flux were asking for £491 so tried the comparison sites. Admiral came in at £360 but then I checked pistonheads to get an idea of the value of my zed. Increased the value from £8500 to £10000. Pressed recalculate and the price went DOWN £60 instead of up! Could it be that they think owners of sub £10k cars are more reckless?
  12. Wow! 55 plate 1 owner 18k miles HOW DID YOU FIND THAT? Congratulations on getting such a Zed
  13. Congratulations on your choice of car:) If you post up where you're based you might even get some members local to you to help in your search. I remember helping one member compare my zed to a prospective purchase. It wasn't rough because it was "the raw feel designed into the zed" as the dealer told him. IT WAS JUST ROUGH! Good luck and as others have said you should be able to get a good example.
  14. I'm interested in buying a house but have now found that it is listed as "A house of architectural interest." It is only single glazed with metal framed curved bay windows which I wanted to replace with double glazed units. I have contacted a firm regarding if bespoke curved PVC units are possible and an idea of cost but they habe yet to reply. Also I was going to convert the front garden into a drive like the other houses on the road. Question is. Even if the conservation officer gives my proposals the ok verbally now do you reckon I may have problems later? Would this listed status put you off buying such a property?
  15. It seemed to take forever for security to arrive. Even then it didn't seem like they were trained in tackling such situations.
  16. My brother got me Gtechniq C2v3 sealant. I asked him for a 100 ml bottle so I could do my rims. Surface doesn't need to be 100% dry for C2v3 so a bonus. Seeing as its Christmas he got me 500ml. Will last me about 20 yrs if only for rims!
  17. My 05 coupe is my daily. Practically ZERO motorway miles. Commute is mainly on free running 40, 50 and 60 roads with traffic lights every few minutes though, not continuous free stretches. I don't drive like Mr Magoo or like a hooligan and have averaged 19.2 over the years on Tesco momentum 99 ron. Hope that helps a bit.
  18. Did the driver of the white rag top look far east asian?? If so, seen that guy a couple of times doesn't look like a waver.. not seen a single zed to wave at yet since becoming an owner Yep.....that's the one Spatt! I doubt there's many orientals in Manchester driving Nismo'd White ragtops.
  19. Hopefully the yellow light is just the O2 sensor throwing a wobbly. They have been known to do this and sometimes a reset is all you need. Other times a new sensor may be needed. Search for PEDDLE DANCE and there is a thread somewhere showing you how to pull and read error codes from the cars ecu using the ignition, pedals and reading the code ala morse code on the dash as the engine warning light flashes. Hope it's nothing serious. I've had the O2 sensor throw a wobbly twice in the past 8 yrs of ownership. Reset it and all has been fine
  20. When I was in my teens this happened when my dad was driving us home about 2am. It was an British Leyland Allegro and he mustn't of pushed the bonnet down properly. The bonnet slammed up AND OFF! Luckily road was deserted. Dad slammed on the brakes. We looked behind.....and a second later saw the bonnet come back to earth.
  21. Congratulations on your purchase. I'll be looking out for you in my sunset coupe during the daily commute from cheadle to Rusholme. The only other Zed I see around is a white Nismo kitted ragtop. Waved at him many times but never a wave back.
  22. I bought a set off Zmanalex 6 years ago. Still going strong.
  23. Lockwood and Greenwood do MOT too. I always tend to source my own oil and parts. They have no problem with that and will gladly supply parts themselves. I have found Zmanalex at Clarkmotorsport very good on parts for prices and speedy delivery. I have ordered pads, plugs, belts, etc off him and L and G have fitted them. They've been servicing my zed for the past 5 yrs and she's still running as smooth as when she was new. I know one of our moderators M13KYF (another stunning Azure owner) also uses them as he pointed me to them. So that must be another reassuring thought. Don't forget to mention you're a club member for a discount!
  24. Lockwood and Greenwood in Audenshaw Manchester service alot of us Manchester members. Give a club discount too.
