NeilMH Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 The more I look at them the more I also think that lighter is the way to go. Having said that....what I know about wheels or any external mods could be written on an Amoeba's Beret label I seem to be going in a different direction to everyone else - hoping that size doesn't matter Quote
CrumbMC Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I think they look great, have been thinking of doing a similar thing but i fancy more of a dark gold colour like this Quote
Louisa911 Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 They look lovely on black! but again I wonder how they'd do on gunmetal like the bronze ones.... will add them to the list of colours to photoshop later this weekend Quote
DoogyRev Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I am not loving that, I feel that because your zed is gm you should be trying to lift the colour of the wheels slightly, rather than making them darker. Would you not consider a nice bright colour? +1 Gold or Bronze rims make me think of Scoobys .... and you dont drive one of them 1 Quote
14N Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 This might help a little (not much, but a little). http://www.350z-uk.com/index.php?showtopic=59122 Quote
squanchy Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Here's a link to mine, which are Rotas in a similar colour to original post. Might give you a better idea. I love them. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/62966-05-350z-gunmetal-gt/#entry934922 Quote
Darren_Z Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 You should have a look at this thread. It has a good range of colour combos and might give you some ideas. Quote
LRF4N Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Polished rays on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251240907069 Quote
samsniss350z Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 When you starting mentioning shadow chrome i was thinking, oh no, way to go to ruin the look of the car, but to be honest i think it looks really good, i reckon going brighter is a better move than going darker. Not sure about the purple myself. Shadow chrome is the way to go. Quote
Stutopia Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Had a play in aperture as I wanted to steal your great side on shot, only fair to share my highly amateur efforts. Hope you don't mind me butchering your work, I'm only just getting used to using it. 1 Quote
theheff Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 i was messing about a while ago and came up with these. i did some dark red aswell but need to get them on my computer. 1 Quote
Stutopia Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 That bronze is definitely back on the menu. 1 Quote
theheff Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 i really like them in red. maybe a little darker Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 0% finance on a mountain bike! How much was it? One of those seriously uprated ones? Last time I had a bike, was when I was 12, so I'm totally out of it. I remember trek doing some for nearly a grand. How much more expensive can they be? Unless you are a professional sportsperson? 1 Quote
manphibian Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Here's a couple of grey photoshops i did on mine... Been thinking about doing it for an eternity, but nothing ever happens I've had dark wheels on every car i've owned... but there's something about the silver rays that just... works... 1 Quote

A lot more expensive! An average to low spec full suspension MTB is usually around £2k if you ride regularly. Mine was £3900! I could have spent a lot more, believe me. Sounds crazy but when you do it several times a week and putting it through a lot of abuse, you really do notice where the money goes. A professional downhill racer could easily have a bike valued at £6000 + Great photoshops guys, I think bronze is still my favourite but that last grey one looks great too. Still undecided! Jay Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I just think gold or bronze rims are chavy......... Quote
14N Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 The poll is currently sat at a 50/50 split, which is really helpful I know changing the colour of your wheels is often an alternative to getting new rims (and the cheaper of the two), believe me I've considered chaging the colour of mine a lot, but I honestly think the standard colour of the Rays looks best on a GM car. Except for maybe in Manphibian's pics..... I'm 50/50 after seeing those Quote

ioneabee Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Have a look at Whackywill's as well - he has gold wheels (but on a black zed) - but you could photoshop the wheels straight over 1 Quote
RS8055 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Only problem with gold/bronze wheels is that it is typically a Subaru thing... I myself have a Gunmetal 350Z (04 plate) and I am toying with ideas on what colour to have them done in. i was thinking a slightly darker shade of grey to the bodywork maybe... Quote
Mikesding Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) I was ready to say no... until I saw the picture! Actually looks really good, quite subtle but quite nice. edit: oops looks like my vote made it go 50/50 again! haha Edited April 17, 2013 by Mikesding 1 Quote
MartynB85 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I'm thinking of having my Rays refurbed, i have a GM too. IMO darker wheels do look better Didn't think i'd like to bronze but i do Quote
