The G Man Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-shows/detroit-auto-show/news/a32182/this-is-the-gorgeous-rear-wheel-drive-kia-stinger-gt/ Don't see a price, but I can't imagine it'll be Jaguar/Mercedes/BMW-priced 7 year warranty? Quote
Ekona Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Looks a bit arse-heavy to me. Certainly not a patch on the 3 or XE. Quote
GMballistic Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Looks a bit like what the offspring would look like if a Jaguar XF & an Audi A6 had sex. 1 Quote
Bandit Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 (edited) Now there something you can loose your shirt on if you buy a new one..!! (see post on chasing interest) http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/113541-chasing-interest/ Edited January 8, 2017 by Bandit Quote
The G Man Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 8 speed auto, I thought that 10 speed was the new 'vogue'? Price will be the important pitch here, once badge snobbery is overcome, but probably a serious contender to Infiniti buyers, as most of the motoring public know anything about them either Anyway, an interesting alternative to a Jag. As 'arse-heavy' looking as a Jag though, too many doors for me Quote
coldel Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Good to see them having a crack to be honest, healthy competition is always a good thing. 2 Quote
ATTAK Z Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Side vents ... Wheels ... Roof line (particularly C pillars) ... interesting Front fangs ... not keen Would I buy one over a BMW ... probably not Would I buy one over a Jag ... probably Quote
marzman Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Looks nice. Hard to judge the scale but has an A7 style rear roof line. Quote
AMT Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2018-kia-stinger/#slide-4339180 Couple of other pics on that link. I think it's a winner. Name is stupid but the outside certainly looks the part, Kia have done well with that indeed! Much more interesting than the Germans for sure. I can see the A7 ish bit but its much better executed on the Kia... A7's are terrible looking things. 1 Quote
KyleR Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 It'll be £45k which appears good value compared to it's German forefathers, however, I am certain as nice as it looks inside and out, it'll be "cheap". Quote
Alpinaman Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 That's not a bad looking car at all... The badge snobs will always go for one of the German trio, but I dare say any equivalent will be £10-£15k more .. Kia are a decent product now and with the fantastic warranty and half decent residuals they are worth a look at .. Quote
Rock_Steady Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Looks a bit like what the offspring would look like if a Jaguar XF & an Audi A6 had sex. kind of what i was thinking. Quote

That Kia will need to be below £30k wit all options ticked to sell more than half a dozen. Edited January 9, 2017 by gangzoom Quote
350zedd Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Driven and passengered in a few Kia's and have been quite impressed. Will be watching this one. Quote
nowhereboy Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Interesting! However a two door version is needed... Quote
RickyZ Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 It wont be cheap as not many Kias are. Theres a garage down the road from me and theyve got some SUV thingy in there listed as £41k Quote
StevoD Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 yea i like that, the render looks worse than real life imo, does look a fleebox to a alfa giulia mind. Quote
The G Man Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 Not sure what's going on with the roof? Rear lights are a bit meh..... Overall, a nice looking saloon. Quote
coldel Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Sliding big sunroof with wind-deflector. I like the big slide out sunroofs actually, have one on our megane. Rear lights are a bit too subtle for a big car... Quote
KyleR Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 The worst thing about this car is the badge and I don't mean the fact it's a Kia, it's just the Kia badge looks like @*!#! Quote

coldel Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 And that Nissan badge looks like a burger...oh, hang on... Quote
Aashenfox Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) A poorly balanced burger with way too much meat to bread ratio. I hate that kind of burger. The Stinger (hey at least they didn't call it Growler ) is a great looking car, a step in the right direction, looks better than any lexus sedan in the last few years, it's probably better quality than Opel/Ford, and cheaper than BMW, wins all around really. They have made one slight f'up though, with the engine size, nobody in europe is going to buy it, over 3 litres has some crazy tax in many euro countries. Shoulda gone with 3.0, BMW did that for a reason. Bet it's really quick though, and I bet it'll be a solid drifter. Edited January 10, 2017 by Aashenfox Quote
