  1. So it sounds like you just want to use the car, a feisty 2 door coupe, for just driving around normally, I’d just go with the manufactures recommendation. If you want to be a little bit ‘sporty’ and ‘spirited’ get 2 decent sets, one for summer use and a dedicated winter tyre. over the years and on many forums, tyre choice is a minefield of ‘nasal’ ‘experts’, who, in the end have their favourites from their vast internet reading ability. On the RX8 forums, the stock tyres were rubbished (Bridgestone RE040) in preference to RE050’s as an example and, everyone went out and bought them! I noticed no difference and I rung the neck out of that car ha! Winter though........ Whatever tyre you choose from all the above suggestions, just remember, they’re all SUMMER tyres, not very good in lower temps, unless your last name is Hakkanin(Sp?) and your first is Miku, so spirited driving is not what to do in winter. I’ve had all the above mentioned tyres (not the PS5S though) and currently run PS4S, but I don’t have to show much ‘spirit’ in winter to have a brown trouser moment. Heat and the ability of a tyre to hold heat is a huge factor on cold, damp or wet days Pirelli, great summer tyre, complete comedic death wish in winter, so had to drive accordingly. Most, if not all tyre tests are carried out on FWD hatchbacks and bear no relevance when re-booting a middling ‘RWD ‘performance’ car and only offer some technical jargon that most of us don’t understand. I’d also get the quietist tyre.... To summarise, check the bloody weather first before hooning around country lanes.
  2. Not seen a chat thread for the new season, apologies if it’s elsewhere. False dawn for Aston Martin? Hope not! Red Bull red hot? Me thinks yes! Ferrari? Still having strategy and mechanical issues? Mercedes? Come good as season progresses? Hass? Gotta be on it, or out of it this season? McLaren? WTF! Others? Rosberg? Fashion Victim? Crazy DC? Mad as a bag of spanners ? Las feckin Vegas? Yeah Baby! Nose Stud? Get rid ffs Thoughts...........
  3. Shocked this morning to read Ken Block has died in a snowmobile accident, aged 55. For me his Hoonigan series of vids were the best I’ve ever watched. As with anyone who passes away, thoughts for his family on the saddest of events.
  4. Wouldn’t ride it into battle tbh 😂
  5. Imagine having to get an elderly relative to complete a capacity test on possible dementia. “Mrs Wiggens, who is the current prime minister?” F#xk sake, most of us couldn’t pass it Never ever trust a tory........... 12 years of them and the turkeys are still willing to support them, gobble, gobble, says Mad Nad to Cockwomble.........
  6. Very surprised that nothing’s been said on here! Anyway, whilst not a royalist, any death in any family deserves sympathy. Well, here’s tae ye, whits fur ye il no go past ye. Now, I expect a plethora of outpouring supportive posts.
  7. Alex will probably have something that’s appropriate
  8. ......also, in 2016 on our way to Lake Garda, I didn’t have my sat nav set up properly (was a new car then), couldn’t find Bastogne, got horribly lost in Gent and then, an overnight in Luxembourg, couldn’t get out the damn place Anyway, have a great time and enjoy your trip
  9. My last euro trip was organised for the 6 Hours of Spa in 2020 , that didn’t go well........ Went to Le Mans in 2019 a friend in another car that was with us had a catastrophic failure of his oil cooler, cost an initial fortune (€2000 IIRC) to be recovered off the French toll motorway, then the breakdown cover got it recovered to the UK and his local garage.... He was eventually reimbursed by them
  10. The green card is issued by your insurance, I’m not aware of that being ‘sorted’, but not all insurance covers driving in Europe and if you are, I believe you still need to make them aware. Good breakdown cover essential though
  11. .....oh and take photographs of all documentation before you set off....
  12. Boring stuff but...... 1. Make sure your insurance is aware, also you need a green card, from your insurance to state you are fully comprehensive insured. 2. Take out adequate breakdown cover, green flag offer a great package for driving in Europe that covers FULL recovery of your vehicle, back to the UK, amongst other benefits. 3. Copies of the V5 and, well anything to do with insurance. 4. Travel and health insurance It can get quite expensive, very quickly without adequate cover, for both you and your car.
  13. Yeah buddy, on the Sunday, I would’ve saw your Stang, we looked at every car. Three of us arrived in Knutsford Saturday lunchtime, had a the day in town then spent most of Sunday at the show before heading home via the Lake District (for some fun driving ). Our Stangs were in the car park, spoke to loads of Stang owners too!
  14. All of them were lovely examples with a few for sale
  15. The suspension and track of the Nismo is completely different to the GT. That said, it’s not mindblowingly different to the GT. I test drove the auto before buying my manual GT, it was alright but will be down on fuel consumption a bit I’d imagine, not that anyone can afford petrol atm ha! Can’t remember but is the tank @72 litres?, I know it’s bigger than most normal cars. I never ran out of fuel on any of my 370’s. They still look great cars, again not a traffic light bruiser, most hot hatches are quicker off the mark, it’s a GT but the road noise is terrible on a long journey, lack of insulation and deadening probs the main factor. I wish I’d kept my 2013 Nismo
  16. There were a plethora of Vettes at Tatton Park on Saturday and Sunday last
  17. Yellow stuff are pish haha! Seriously I’ve no idea of their effectiveness, even after the few ‘War and Peace’ type posts, bored to death after 3-4 lines. Doc mad a good point re member 4, the end!
