  1. Another nail in the coffin. I give it five years tops before it's gone.
  2. Yup, I'm with Col. A car is defined on what you need it for and what you can do with it, so if you're only commuting then a 1L Fiesta will do; If you're a horse vet then you may well need a Disco to get to where you need to be. The law does not state like for like replacement in the statute at all. If you choose to take a Ferrari as the offered loan car for a year when a Mondeo would do, expect to lose that one in court. This is why I will never use an AMC, as all the risk is on you. You pay your insurer a good amount every year, why would you not use them?
  3. Well when you say it like that, it's a bit obvs. Silly me!
  4. Why does it have what appears to be a small BBQ in the boot?
  5. Must be hard for people not to take stuff to heart with social media these days, too easy to be contacted directly and reply back. I think LP were the first band to get me back into the more metal side of rock, as I'd spent a few years previous hard in the rave scene as guitar-based music had turned rubbish. Used to listen to HT on the way to and from college, just on repeat.
  6. Hybrid Theory defined the start of my adulthood, epic album. The first band I played bass in played a couple of their songs, good times. Damn shame.
  7. They used to be orange Now faded to a rose gold, we'll get them redone in either the orange again or probably go back to the black when we first bought her. The orange was the idea of the last owner, funnily enough also called Stu! Personally I'd be happy to go louder, but then that would almost certainly drone at certain revs and that was an absolute no-no. Def not chavvy this way either, in the way some exhausts on a Scooby can be.
  8. Mine works (well, "works") by sensing the difference in the rolling radius, same as the TCS systems. The theory being that when you have a flat tyre it changes the radius, so it knows when you have an issue. Its crap.
  9. Only a year late... And finally, video of the exhaust too
  10. No check boxes at all for us commoners
  11. Can't do it on PC, Firefox. Or if you can, it's not an obvious option at all.
  12. Better off taking a pump with you instead. I have this one but the new version] looks a better bet, and more easily available.
  13. Not required on UK cars at the time, no. Tbh it's just another one of those things that makes people reliant on tech rather than actually checking the obvious like they should. I believe the tyre pressures should be checked weekly, but no-one actually ever does that so once a month is (usually) fine. That's what I do on mine, and it has TPMS which is completely unreliable and I wish didn't exist as it makes me panic when there's nothing to panic about when it goes BONG
  14. Yes, you must have a rear fog light. More importantly than the MOT, it would also fall foul of the construction and use regs, so even with an MOT pass the police could still prosecute (unlikely they'll find out, mind you). Should be easy to sort, any decent auto electrician should be able to put it back relatively easy.

I'd rather walk than drive an M4. The M235i (and I suspect the 240i too but I've yet to drive that) was a superior car in every single way that mattered.
  16. Oh yeah! I did get this on on Monday, I'll grab some pics tonight when Jo gets home. Maybe a vid too.
  17. Basically whatever imperfections you have in the bodywork will show up through a wrap, to a certain extent. For example, on mine I've a couple of tiny triangles on the sill where the jacking points are indicated and you can see those clear as day, however where there were other minor scratches you can't see anything. Any bigger lumps n bumps will need to be smoothed out before you apply the wrap. However, if you're asking does a panel need to be painted before being wrapped, I'd say the answer is definitely no. As long as the body work is smooth (so you may need/want filler and sanding as appropriate) then you can wrap straight over the top.
  18. I literally don't even know where to start with that, I really don't.
  19. It'll be the slave or master cylinder, not the fluid. I know it's warm but it's not *that* warm! Same thing happened to mine when I was out in France one time, it got worse with the heat as it was the seal failing rather than the fluid. Get the slave changed as a minimum, but tbh I'd always recommend doing the master as well as the biggest cost is the labour time is taken up with the bleeding, not the part cost. You could just do the slave and then find out the problem is with the master too, which is exactly what happened to me.
