  1. Explain it to me then, because I can't see how rev matching (which essentially mimics heel and toeing) works on an upshift. You'd never want the revs to rise on an upshift.
  2. So 39 in a 30 I presume? Video irrelevant really, the law only requires the opinion of a police officer that you were exceeding the speed limit. FWIW I'd have stopped too, grovelled and hoped for the best. Did they actually give you a verbal NIP? Tbh I'd carry on with life and not worry about it, what will be will be. Doing 40 in a 30 is a bit silly though matey, no issues with people exceeding the limit on NSL roads (conditions permitting etc) but very rarely do you get 30 limits that aren't there for a very good reason. Nag over
  3. They have 6 months to lay the info before the courts, so a little while to wait yet. You won't time out of the speed awareness, so don't worry about that. It's not down to you to chase them, so don't be doing that either on the basis they might actually never send you anything further. What was the speed limit, and what were you doing when stopped?
  4. Seriously?! It's only ever going to work on the downshift: You'd never ever want the engine to spike the revs going up the 'box, as the revs are naturally going to drop (so 6000rpm in 2nd might be 4000rpm in 3rd).
  5. Have you tried it on vinyl wrap at all? Just wondering how it compares really.
  6. Awful news mate, don't really know what to say apart from I hope that the future goes as well as it possibly can for all of you.
  7. You can use SiRamik SC15 on wraps, it's good stuff and costs 1/3 the price of that. The trouble isn't finding a product, it's the technique required to put it on: With paint, if you get it wrong you simply grab a rotary and remove it to start again, get it wrong on vinyl and you're ripping that section off as you can't compound it off. Given the cost involved, I'd use SC15 over that stuff. It's good to work with, and no need to spend extra if you don't need to. Bearing in mind you also need the Top layer of that stuff as well...
  8. Can you buy LC on the base S cars too?
  9. Are you talking to yourself?!
  10. Exactly stuff like that, yeah. It's utterly moronic.
  11. Once again, point missed. I do wonder if you're doing it on purpose now. Pay what you like for a car, that's not a problem. The problem is paying EXTRA for a feature you can never really use, unless you like waiting for an entire hour hour to use it. That's what maketh the idiot.
  12. The point isn't the 0-60 time. The point is offering something for a headline figure that, in reality, is just impossible to use. It's something that they should rightly be called out on. If you pay extra for that feature, you're a complete idiot.
  13. So 50 mins for proper launch control then. Well that's great engineering It's like when Top Gear tested the 0-60 of the M6, and timed it at about 5 mins after you faff through all the controls! And that was just following up from a TG video I watched yesterday, and then general research from owners in the US (who definitely don't live in zero degrees!) and they all said that it was that long.
  14. We're not doing next year now, not with all the guff that's going on in LMP1 right now. It'll still be a great week, but I was always going to have a year off at some point to do other stuff (was supposed to be this year!) so I reckon next year seems to be the perfect time now.
  15. In theory, yes. However, GTR owners aren't quite as retarded as Porsche owners in regards to sh*t like this, I don't think.
  16. Can't believe I'm actually going to say this, but... that needs a carbon bonnet to work IMHO. Personally I think that's far too much on that car, might be okay with regular silver wheels (or anthracite) but that example looks like a Matchbox special. And not in a good way.
  17. Utterly ridiculous, from all sides. Ironically only one of those pics actually shows the dash in question (the 997.1 at the bottom), all the others are black.
  18. Red car with gold wheels is going to be dangerously close to looking like a Noddy or Ronald McDonald car, be careful! Red's a nice colour though

    MOT pass.

Without his address on, it would've been fine.
  20. So, P90D. Ludicrous mode. Launch mode. Takes 45 mins to pre-heat the battery before you can actually engage it. Same with the X?

    MOT pass.

Dude, you've openly said that he's a 'friendly' tester who knows how to go about getting a decat car to pass, when it clearly cannot ever pass regardless of emission outputs. Don't get me wrong, we all know a guy and it's very handy and I don't give a hoot if a car passes emissions or not, but neither would I do someone who's risking their livelihood a disservice by openly telling the world who they are! If you cannot see why that might possibly not be a good thing to share, then you're beyond help. Just remove the picture, or at least redact it ffs.
  22. Ekona

    MOT pass.

I bet he's really chuffed you've advertised the fact he gives out dodgy MOTs to the entire Internet, risking his tester's licence.
  23. Maybe they sit in the same office?
  24. You don't have that long left in life to have that question answered by that man.
  25. Oh mate, I'm so sorry to hear that I'm sure he knew how much you loved him though, and it sounds like you did the right thing by making the hardest choice.
