  1. A big thanks to glrnet, octet, The Bounty Bar Kid and smudgeon for coming along to the funeral. The ZED theme was a direct request of Amy and Mark's family and we were very fortunate the officials at the crematorium put rules aside to allow us to park the cars as you see in the pics - and many thanks for those to Adrian. Oh, and it was nice to hear from many - both family and friends how they appreciated a visual reminder of Mark's passion in his last years. The firm Mark worked for - Smith & Byford, shut their operation for the day to allow their employees to attend, such was the high esteem Mark was held in. And as those on here who have been fortunate to know him, such a thoroughly likeable fella who never let the fact he knew for some time he had a terminal illness, get him down. I would estimate there were over 150 attendees at the funeral, including G1nger8readman (Geoff) on here - a great buddy of Marks, who one day hopes to be back in a 350. We now know Mark's passion for fast cars comes from - his mum. Quite a petrolhead it turns out. But my heart does go out to Amy who had been Mark's partner for over 8 years and the one thing Mark was determined to do for her in last 3 days of his life was to marry her. So typical of the man whose thoughts were more for others than his own mortality. All of the comments expressed on the previous thread were put together in a little presentation as a memento for Amy. We are going to keep the donation opportunity running until post the Wales weekend (and noting what Graham has said ^^^^^) Please, support that cause if you can - it would be great to see at least £350/£370 being raised from this forum http://www.justgiving.com/350zuk
  2. Most of us are on here because we enthuse about ZED ownership and having coughed up lots of our hard-earned. And yet posts appear by owners that really only serve as ammo for those looking to get in on ownership on the cheap. Strange old world.

    Boot Release

Yes it is a reported issue (same as the 350's) that Nissan will say is fixed by uprated springs. I had mine done which improved the problem a little, but especially in cold weather it is still a two-handed job. Permanent fix is here: http://www.350z-uk.c...rst-time-issue/
  4. The bitch has gone fat Hope you don't have any of those road width restrictions in your neck of the woods
  5. Octet - he's a pussycat really Wasso is another These two are a bit dodgy though But you get nice ones along too - something familiar to you there Two Bears
  6. For those without SKY or who prefer BBC coverage...... BBC 1 and 2 are covering practice as well as qualifying and the race live in China (If we can see through the haze in China) So set your alarms/recorders for 02.55 Friday morning (BBC2 - Practice 1) then 06.55 (BBC2 - Practice 2). On Saturday 03.55 (BBC2 - Practice 3) then 06.00 on BBC1 for Qualifying. Race day coverage on Sunday on BBC1 starts at 07.00.
  7. That's total bollocks Andrew - Nissan won't pay the garage for changing locks that don't need changing
  8. Interesting, but I suspect some wires crossed here and it is 370's made up that VIN number/date quoted. Still waiting for the official recall detail which will confirm, but best advice to any 370 owner who is worried is to call your Nissan Dealer sooner rather than later so that they can order up a replacement part before stock runs out and knowing that same problem affects the GTRs, which use the same part as Will ^^^^^ has discovered . Just had a call back from a very helpful guy at Colliers Nissan HPC and he has confirmed that Nissan Customer Services gave me incorrect information. As you suspected Colin, it's Cars with a VIN number UP TO 0300691 and build date UP TO 24th March 2010 that the recall applies to. Cheers, Scotty There you go
  9. And if you have had a call saying yours is affected I would hope the Swansea garage are not wasting the time of those owner's who are not affected
  10. Yep I think both those comments merit one, but you might have a chance to redeem yourself
  11. Further to the sad news about the loss of Mark and the funeral being held this Friday, there will be 6 members attending: 4RE Leather glrnet octect smudgeon The Bounty Bar Kid & myself The family have asked for donations to cancer charities rather than floral arrangements and knowing that Mark had to spend quite a bit of time recently at the Royal Marsden in Sutton, and he himself has supported The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, the forum has set up a Just Giving page dedicated to Mark to continue the support, that we hope members would like to show: http://www.justgiving.com/350zuk Posts below continue from previous thread http://www.350z-uk.c...s-added-page-4/
  12. The grid lock today around that time was this in the clockwise lane, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-22089258 or did you find another one I only know 'cos I was going to use that section of the M25 today, but avoided it hearing the news.
  13. I was in Motorline Nissan showroom at Tunbridge Wells today and showed the guys your quote ^^^^^ , as I saw they had a storm white paddler. But they couldn't match your quote and felt the garage had a need to move it on, so on the face of it the offer looks good. Best price from them was just over £30k
  14. Had my lock changed today.. Motorline at TW efficient as always - their guy has done a few on the GTRs now and I doubt he had mine for more than half an hour. Car is out or warranty, but no charge at all. Recall number is P3208 (same number as across the pond)
  15. +1 and two others you should take in is the Applecross Pass after point 'H' on your route and eat here: http://www.applecross.uk.com/inn/tariffs.htm Then take the coastal road north from there back onto your planned route. And no visit across the border should be made without a visit to theTrossachs (turn westwards onto the A821 before Callender - point Q on your map) Either way, the flowing bends at the western end of that road are just made for the ZEDs (pull over and wait if you come up behind the Morris Minor outing )
  16. That is a great price for a 370 - but a tip if you mod it expect the premiums to rise - probably a case that the insurance companies think those on the wrong side of 50 should be past all that
