  1. sorry to hear this paul, my condolences my parents are going through this as well, a clsoe family friend died of a brain tumor on the 15th as well.
  2. alot of people on here are open minded, but there are many on here who will see the S2K as a girls car. there loss in my opinion.
  3. you might be able to get trolley socks in places like waitrose. can't push a trolley with them on all the time, but if you get stuck in the icecream section you can pop them on and they help you out.
  4. o always go for the basket, means i can change the tread on my shoes, for particular cold shopping i opt for my special winter boots with big winter tread and excellent grip in the cold. but if its hot i swap to my maximum grip summer sprint trainers. loads of grip etc.
  5. cracking car, loved mine to bits, possibly one of the best cars i've owned. i have a set of 18" oz racing wheels sat in my garage which are a perfect fit for the s2000 if your interested. new tyres on and everything. as for handling TCS came in after 2004 as standard, was an option on early cars from 2001 on but not many had it. as for handling, 1999 to 2001 were a little snappy, but the 2002 to 2004 was the best model, had brilliant setup rev range went all the way to 9.5k after 2004 it was dropped to 8800 revs. the suspension was also softened out in 2004 but brought back to 2002 standard in 2006. i had the hks exhaust on mine but it did drone at 3k but everywhere else it was amazing. if you need to know anything drop me a line its not as big a widow maker as people make out, the handling is spot on; generally the reason people write them off is they think they are better at driving than they actually are. when it does slide it is extremely progressive and easy to hold. i drove mine in the snow and didn;t have problems, but it isn;t the easiest winter trnasport. main things to check are the bushes, they tend to seize, and if they all need replacing your looking at about £900 of work. get the geo setup and its a minter. i reckon you;ll enjoy it as well if she lets you drive it.
  6. just started a small flurry, but nothing major yet and nothing that will settle.
  7. likes like the head off of a pipercross full system but with out all the extra pipe work as they never made one to fit the zed, can;t remember what its called. something like venom or viper or something like that. what material is the filter? if its foam it might be a piper cross.
  8. that isn't the first and won;t be the last, i reckon anohter 3-5 before the good weather returns.
  9. it might be possible to shroten the steering column with a bit of engineering, but not sure in the cost involved. or the time it would take. probably looking at a complete dash strip (not so bad in an elise, as there isn't much dash) dismantle the froot and the steering system, cut down the column and then rebuild.
  10. it probably didn;t need changing, just a TPS reset and an ECU rest would have done it.
  11. have to say CS they are some of my favourite wheels and thats a cracking price.
  12. elise and VX220 are pretty much track toys out of the box, need very little to get them track ready, and so agile, huge fun. when i did an airfield day in my zed i couldn't even come close to them on speed through the corners, i think i maxed out at 70 before spinning and the elises were getting 85 on a pretty much 90 degree turn without skidding or braking
  13. i love those little arbarths but i'm looking forward to seeing the new arbarth coupe due out next year, i think its based on the alfa 4C platform both of which are mega drool cars
  14. Get a room guys! you wanna join?
  15. WOW i'm more than happy to keep the whole tram full of people from all over the place; who probably work and pay their way. and get rid of her, i bet she doesn;t work, claims dole, and breeds like an inbreed rabbit. poorly educated fukwit. what a waste of oxygen
  16. i can never get the bmw number lettering right but you knew which one i meant yes the E36 and if i had deep pockets then as lizard said the NSX would be one of the cars at the top of my list.
  17. check this viewtopic.php?f=64&t=30972&hilit=OBDII+reader&start=30
  18. looking good ho love the lumps and bumps on the car, very muscular
  19. hope you had fun, be nice to catch up sometime
  20. whats your location? there are a few of use with code readers, if your local i'm happy to read your code for you, as would others. helps if yo uadd it in your avatar
  21. have to agree, they might not be pretty like a sports car, but for pure driving pleasure and ability the E39 m3 is a stonking car nearly bought one a while back. was still on my list until i saw the older M5 which has possibly swayed me as a future XKR replacement, as i have fallen in love with V8's
  22. The cars I would consider, but won't limit myself too included: 350z S2000 Classic Subaru Evo having driven both the zed and the S2k i'd say the S2k is more fun to drive, and would make a better track car. out of the 4 listed, i'd be tempted to say try the evo or scooby, ok so they aren't RWD but the grip on the 4WD is insane, and with the turbo's etc they are going to be a hoot to drive.
  23. the loosing weight was not a flying issue its a crashing issue, they were burning off fuel to reduce the amount the plane was carrying, basically if it was to crash on landing, it would mean less of a fire ball. i'd rather crash in a plane with an empty fuel tank, than one with a full tank of fuel, that stuff burns extremly hot.
