  1. If he plugs it into iTunes and tries to sync, you may find you get a password prompt on screen. As he's not forgotten the passcode, if it is triggered it might be a way in. If sync doesn't work, hit the manual backup instead and see if that does it.
  2. As if that's a choice! You just don't see mint 240s just knocking about. I'd put the cover on the Porker for now
  3. Without getting into whether or not a day is a reasonable amount of time to make a decision like that, I wonder what it was that he was expecting from it, that it didn't deliver? It's not like the features are a secret and you get it home and find out you can't watch TV on it It is very much a 'terminal' for your phone, all the proper config is done on the phone app and once it's out of bluetooth range, 90% of what's smart about it disappears. Though in my world that means it still works by the printer and on the bog RickyZ From what Coldel's said you can see that it's not going to be something for everyone. I would suggest eyeing it in person but purchasing it online - you should get a "distance selling" 14 day cooling off period then, so you've got a reasonable amount of time to weigh up and you don't even need a reason to return it. No point in selling it 2nd hand if you can have all your money back with no quibbles.
  4. I was thinking about updating this thread the other day but real life crept in. It's my one month anniversary today and my thoughts are: • I love the look and feel of my Watch + Milanese Loop. A few people have commented positively on it (not just fanboys). • Notifications (texts, reminders, calendar, email) are very good for just keeping an eye on, particularly in meetings or if your phone is put away. • Directions are fantastic when on foot. Irritating when you're driving. • Many times I've not noticed my phone ringing (it's usually on silent) but my watch has tapped me on the wrist so I've not missed the call. • The health stuff is mildly interesting, I'm not a keen exerciser so I can't compare it to dedicated fitness stuff, but the nags every hour to get up and move around are an interesting idea. I can see how a person might get into trying to hit the 3 goals that it monitors for you each day. • Battery life is good compared to what I expected. I expected to charge it nightly, but it can just about manage 2 days (currently on 84% at 3:20pm). • It's mildly useful that you can control media playback on it (Apple TV and iTunes etc). On the flip side, it's a wedge of cash but I'd rather drop £600 on this than a "proper" watch which doesn't do anything except date/time/look pretty - this is obviously hugely subjective. Not quite figured out what the killer app will be, notifications are definitely my favourite thing. If you love gadgets and have the money, it's good fun and a taste of the future. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have the cash and are saving up for it to change your life.
  5. Like you I developed this well after my formative years, no idea why. I used the 'other' one to loratadine (forget the name) for ages, with no effect. Switched to loratadine and they worked effectively, so defo worth trying other chemicals. Failing that... There's a rumour SMD does a range of masks too, but I'm not sure how medicinal they are
  6. I picked up the same mitt from Halfords a few months ago, first used it yesterday/today. Based on the comments on this thread, instead of clay lube, I used it with a 20L bucket half filled and about 3x the normal amount of shampoo I would use for a full bucket. I also put a similar concentration of shampoo and water into a hand held pump spray so I could get liquid down with one hand and mitt with the other. I did manage to install some scratches with it, but apparently that was down to me being a tit and not breaking the thing in on the glass. The scratches were only on the first section I worked and with some effort were mostly removed with a DA this afternoon. The shampoo / water combo worked great as a lubricant and the mitt did a good job. I found it VERY unnerving to use at first, the noise on the first few passes was pant browning, but it soon disappeared and left a nicely clean surface. As you mention, one or two tar spots persisted. Versus clay, it's so much quicker to work with it's untrue. The mitt didn't exactly hold my hand very well, but I never dropped it. I'm more sold on the concept that I was yesterday, but I think I might splash out on another clay mitt/cloth and leave this one for relatives' cars

    GT-Four

Great repait, looks flawless. Regarding the lip, as what GM says, it's such a fine example of an uncommon car, I'd be tempted to leave it as is.
  8. Perhaps just loosen the cap a lot? I did cap off and there was some mess to clean up in the bay afterwards!
  9. If the pump is being driven harder than usual, premature wear/failure might be a longer term issue. I switched in a shiny one and it made a nasty whine. I tried varying fluid levels, tried leaving the lid a few screws short of tight to let air move in and out. In the end I gave up and went back to stock with a lick of paint on it. Is it baffled? I can't remember if the OEM one has a bit in the bottom to stop it cavitating.
  10. What about a 240/280 mix up? http://qclassiccars.be/EN/stock/detail.aspx#!211
  11. That's an incident report if I ever I saw one. Buy a lottery ticket!
  12. Actually given as a reason for many a divorce within the UK! If you've got time to get married in the first place, you're not taking your management career seriously enough
  13. Knowing Matt it'll be from PB http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/what-does-polishing-do.html# Scroll down to the bottom and it's there.
  14. Oh my, it's such a beauty, you must be delighted - fantastic work
  15. Glad you got it sorted(ish). If you do go in for round 2, I struggled to get mine back in due to wires being bunched up behind the HU. Ended up cable tying a lot of them deeper in/to the side, behind the recess and out of the way (after much swearing and trying to just jam the HU in)
  16. That's well TRON, do it OP!
  17. On my GM, I find it hard to spot finer defects (which is great in so many ways) but every time I pulled up at a petrol station at night, they popped right out of the paint under the lights. If you're not sure you're making a difference perhaps a light might be helpful? Not one of the mental £600 super lights, but I picked this up to help find them and check progress http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00F9ZH4O6 I'd love to have a properly lit indoor space.. This less expensive option was recommended too, http://www.amazon.co.uk/SecurityIng®-Zoomable-Adjustable-Flashlight-Waterproof/dp/B00BJESR3S/ref=sr_1_6?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1405028064&sr=1-6&keywords=zoomable+torch but it appears to be out of stock
  18. Fixed for you. Vista was a disaster. Win 8 wasn't perfect. Win 7 and 8.1 are as good as you could ever want in a domestic environment, and I can't see 10 being anything other than a nice improvement on what is already an awesome OS. There's a revolutionary new feature called a "Start" menu. God knows what it'll do...
  19. Speaking of Test Approaches. I was just reading some Agile bullshit in the office and it included this, which made me smile. "I don't test my code often, but when I do, I do it in production."
  20. If you look hard enough there's generally a release note somewhere on the web, with details. I've yet to see a Windowz Known Error Log. Perhaps they're too long...
  21. I've seen a few posts where people have used the soapy water from the wash as clay lube. Even some where they use fairy liquid instead of shampoo, (don't tell anyone I used the F word) which sort of makes sense if you're stripping right back to naked paint, but I'd be tempted to fill a new soapy wash bucket (with shampoo not FL), and use that. Either way, should be cheaper than QD or a dedicated clay lube like DJ Born Slippy - though it is relatively cheap, so it's not a big deal if you clay about once a year like me.
