  1. Don't oil vapours condense on the baffles (or stainless steel wool) and then drip to the bottom of the can? If it's not that, then I'm genuinely baffled
  2. Something else that occurs is that if the PO has put on Berks and an Invidia exhaust (perhaps there's even a plenum spacer in there?) then they may well have already had an uprev. If that's the case, and I understand correctly, they have paid for the uprev license, so if you found out which of the tuners had done it. They could confirm and you'd be able to get it remapped, disable the sensors and not have to soak up the cost of the licence. It's a long shot, but it might save you and the customer a few quid. The list of Uprev tuners is quite short IIRC, Abbey, Horsham Developments, TDI North, RS Tuning. You could ring round and ask if they've upreved it?
  3. That's pretty strong for first one, I was up at 7:08
  4. Super fast work plumbing her back in, great to see this getting so close! Can we have a vid of the first fire up????
  5. Surely the only age factor in buying an Alfa is, are you too old to push it home once a week?
  6. Diff set to 10 20 25 Next lap had 2 seconds off at half way. Then a barrier happened UPDATE - 6:51.662 UPDATE - 6:49.778 UPDATE - 6:49.712 There's maybe another two seconds in there, missed an apex by a mile and tiptoed round the carousel as I was on a flyer and it ALWAYS tries to oversteer me into the barrier.
  7. Mine chucked a CEL when the Berks went on, the extenders did not resolve it for me, I believe it has for others. At something like £12 I think they're definitely worth a shot. Got mine from Clark Motorsport on here, so you can shoot them a PM. They're always happy to help. Ultimately, an Uprev "cured" the CEL for me - when I say cured, I mean the sensors were disabled. I think GM also cured the issue the same way. I can't imagine you want to fork out for an Uprev though. Best bet is to try the extenders first and then failing that, get a cheap OBD2 code reader and just check it if it pops up, clear it, then lather rinse repeat as needed. Edit: some threads on the same topic http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77029-help-recurrence-of-o2-sensor-eml-with-new-codes/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/64569-error-code-p1147-heated-02-sensor2-whats-the-next-step/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/58158-error-code-p1147/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/61395-my-first-cel-light-p1146-p1147/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/61136-airfuel-check-light-since-uprev/
  8. Happy to SC, just thought we were going NA. I've got one in the pit lane, so they can pop it on in 2 ticks.
  9. Got to give the real Zed a wash today so I'll be back in a couple of hours.
  10. Ok it's late and I've waited almost 3hrs whilst GT6 downloaded the updates & installed them all as I haven't played it in so long but I thought I'd have a go at this for a laugh. Fairlady Z version S (Z33) '07 ~ fully NA tuned, no custom gearbox or suspension, custom LSD (although haven't adjusted it) with racing soft rubber tyres. Hopefully the same set up as Stu for a level playing field (no weight reduction although I have changed the clutch/flywheel). 1st attempt: 7:20:530 2nd attempt: 7:13:362 I blame the tyres as they were obviously not MPSS. I've maxed everything apart from the Supercharger and NOS (and the custom stuff above) including Stage 3 weight reduction. Have you added a BGW too? I think once you do those you'll easily be sniffing around 7 mins. I have TCS and ABS on 1 also.
  11. Right then, did a few sighters just now: 2007 350Z, fully NA tuned, no customisable gearbox or suspension, customisable LSD, racing soft rubber 7:00:658 I will break 7 mins tomorrow!
  12. I quit! I don't understand you anymore! Wtf Punctuation is important. That's like a text message from Yoda
  13. And if you don't have a DA? Can this be done by hand? Find a second hand DA, it'll surely save you ages and you'll be set up for future detailing!
  14. Sorry if repost but there's breaking news on Farage on BBC
  15. Never done it, but for this type of thing I'd ask Larry! If it works, you can do my passenger door!
  16. Quality video Think I've just been radicalised on the Internet
  17. Looks a neat job. How does it adhere? And did it feel like when it went in, it was in FOREVER?
  18. Rob, where do you get the CG locks from and are they expensive? Just thinking would be a good idea if I could get hold of one for my longer drives (maybe too late for Wales, but I've got a trip to Lake District with family next month too) I just ordered my one via demon tweaks (on their ebay store) I picked up a CG lock from DT recently, pleased to find that the box was battered and some screws missing Anyway, I emailed the CG people to get the screw sizes so I could source some and they are not only sending me some free ones They also pointed out they have a CG lock "lite" coming to market, less tracky and seemingly even easier for day to day. http://shoft.co.uk Not really looked into it much but if the CG lock is anything to go by, could be quite decent. Thread hijack ends!
  19. That photoshop job is only hairs breadth away from being as good as SMD's work
  20. Mine does this, I assumed it was the diff, seems to disappear off once the car warms up
  21. New seats look immeasurably better, nice mod.
  22. Paint looks stunning, real credit to you Dare I ask how many man hours have gone in up to now?
  23. A little carb cleaner and an old rag/microfibre + a bucketload of elbow grease. Small paint/pastry brush is also handy (clean obviously! ). Don't forget to wipe down after and clear up any residual carb cleaner.
