  1. Aside from slinging a couple of spuds up my pipes... Any recommendations on trimming a few db from my exhaust without nicking any HP, and without costing loads The system at the moment is: h-dev decats Cobra system (Y-pipe back - non resonated) When I go on track I use Decibel Devils which do a great job for the static meter but on drive by it must be around 92-96db. For the first time I got black flagged yesterday from the noise. In the near future I'll be installing long tube headers, so perhaps some kind of silencer in the main pipe would be an option ?
  2. It seems to have helped a bit already ! I will definitely try the 10W next time too There was maybe around 50ml (maybe 100ml, hard to know without measuring) over the last 4-6 months I guess. I should do the intake side one as well. Just typical that I need several things at once without much funds currently
  3. NOTE - I think I pulled the wrong fuse I will test the other fuse when I get back tonight - stupid me Hey guys, When I'm on the track I want to pull the pink fuse for the abs etc. Yesterday at Brands it felt like the car was trying to kill me with the brakes. Obviously TC is switched off but it was the brakes that really caused the issue. You can feel the pedal almost pulling away from you! So I tried to pull the pink fuse but when trying to start the car nothing happened, no electrics at all. I then also tried pulling it when the car was idling but it cut out. Any idea what to do as I have Anglesey next month! I'm fairly sure that I need to replace the wheel speed sensors or something like that, because on the road I'm getting the TC cut in when I'm just driving normally (nothing stupid, honestly!).
  4. Sorry for the minor emergency question.. When I pull that fuse I can't fire the car up. No electrics, nothing! Ideally want to pull it as I'm at brands now and the abs is doing my nut in!
  5. Argh, I need to catch up loads on this thread !
  6. Ah I had already bought the 5w but the next change I'll try 10 ! I did the PCV valve last year when I did the oil cooler and pan spacer There is a catch can too but I should do the intake side as well.
  7. Here are some before and after photos, I'm quite surprised ! Because it was hot in the unit when I did this, the cleaning solution dried very quickly. I just used a clay mitt to remove the residue (I should have waited a bit longer). Before: [/url] Yep, I need to re-wet sand this light in particular in the future I want to see how this product lasts first. After:
  8. WHY ! It's works (for me), and lasts quite a while.
  9. About 125k now ! Yeah I'm using Millers CFS 5-40 as of this weekend, prior I've used various others since 2012.
  10. I use BSD all of the time, it's great stuff ! Will look at fusso tomorrow.
  11. No kitty on board. I haven't been able to work out the consumption yet. I need to start over as I moved and don't use the car as much. 1ltr 1000 miles is probably about right, maybe a bit more. I'm doing an oil change tomorrow, track day mon
  12. So my car has been burning oil for a while now, I suspect it's the rings that need replacing. Sly did do a comp test and was happy with the result from that side of things, although not a full leak down test. I keep an eye on the level, and frequently top it up accordingly. However what I wanted to know is that how long can it go on like this ? There are some puff's of smoke here and there but I don't know what the damage will be in the long term, if any ? I want to rebuild the engine when I can afford to, so it's not going to be for a little while yet.
  13. Only £9.42 with the code: MIDMAY I'll try them out tomorrow/sun.
  14. I think it's possibly flywheel chatter, normal on the Z. You should hear my JWT flywheel Sounds like a cement mixer Easiest thing is to make a youtube account and upload a video for us to check. I'll upload my one now.
  15. I bought this: https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/powertrain/clutch-flywheel-packs/1895-350z-de-jwt-clutch-and-flywheel-combo-1200kg-clamping-force-l3503-ncf-ktp-0x.html It only took a few days to arrive. Note - the flywheel will be noisy when idling. I'll have a review in a few days but love it so far.
  16. Right, so I managed to get these installed on the weekend just gone. Are they better ? ABSOLUTELY ! Finally I can see very clearly at night with these new bulbs, and I've not changed the beam height either. No more blotchy looking pattern on the ground, just a good diffuse light. I took a 'before' photo with my phone camera in full manual mode, and went to take another yesterday but for some reason I can't get the shutter speed exactly the same. I'll try again over the weekend, although how much of a difference you will see with it I'm not sure. note - DO ensure you are sent the right bulbs, I bought some from amazon first of all but these were the incorrect model. Also check the authenticity number: http://www.chk.philips.com/gb_en/ Lastly there are various manufacturing points to look for on the bulbs, several videos on YT pointing out what to check.
  17. At home just a simple cheap ass nespresso unit I've had for 5 years? I also freeze some roasted beans from hasbean.co.uk (always high altitude, South or Central America, machine washed and dry in the small farms), so will grind em and frenchie press too. They give great details on the products they sell and visit many of the farmers too. At work they have an expensive machine but we're stuck with one bean variety
  18. Glad you put the price down but yes believe it or not this is also useful. What are you going to use it for ? I play games on my one 99% of the time so having 55"/4K/HDR and low input lag was important for me. But if you just watch films/tv some features may not be of interest for you. I bought my stuff from Richer Sounds too, 5 year warranty (free) !
  19. He might just be unlucky with the quality on that seat. You get 'Friday' cars, so this could be something similar.
  20. Also I want to disable ABS but thank you for the video too !
  21. I've seen 1 video of him but on the road, not on the track And yep, he does do and say some things which don't make sense. Goes on about weight saving, and every lb counts. Installs GTSpec underbody braces and says they don't do anything but look cool.... er yeah ok bud. Great I'll do exactly what you are doing ! I lost 5th gear at Snetterton back in the summer, so I've been driving around without using 5th gear. We're sure it's (hopefully) just the synchro that failed, considering the mileage now at 125k. Also I've done around 50k miles since I bought it and I've no idea when the clutch/fw was done, so I thought it was worth doing it since everything was coming out anyway. I went for the light weight JWT kit. I already had a gearbox mount (Torque Solutions poly) but I want to get the vibra one as I hope it won't have an annoying resonant vibration at around 3000rpm when coasting. Shudders the car for a few second, a bit disconcerting sometimes when you forget about it Next up will be the timing chain I'll measure the tensioner next week but I'm sure it'll need doing soon.
  22. Yep a little editing will help but I like that he does regular videos on the 350z, more the merrier ! Doing the method you've suggested, does that cause any issues with the speedometer/brake lights not working ? (mind you, I'd only be on track doing this) note: my car is down with Sly having the gearbox/clutch stuff done.
  23. I found this which has some info but which fuse are you talking about, is it the same ?
  24. 150kg less, and take another 15kg or so if I can shift it from me
