  1. I'm not so keen myself as you'd need a cover with a cotton interior so as to stop the plastic from sweating and leaving marks on the paint if the wind were to blow it about. I would have thought you'd have had to leave the windows open an inch or two each or so for exactly the same reason, although I could be wrong.
  2. The easiest way to repair the leather seats on the Zed, especially the bolster on the drivers seat is to use worn 3000grit wet n dry to rub down the cracks. Once all of the cracks have been rubbed down all you have to do is apply at least two coats of leather dye. Mine came out a treat, especially the bolster on the drivers seat,
  3. The process that I've gone through to clear foggy headlight lenses is to rub the lense down with 2500grit wet n dry, masking off any parts that are liable to be damaged. If the 2500 grit doesn't clear all of the fogginess and all of the scratches then use 3000grit. Then go and buy some exterior, clear, UV protectant gloss varnish for yachts. The reason for this is that yachts spend most of their life outside, therefore a good quality UV protectant yacht varnish will do the job on the lenses of the 350Z. I did a mates car about five years ago and they still look as good as new.
  4. Bloody hell, that's come up really well.
  5. I'm not surprised you're not keen on selling it, I don't think I've seen so many carbon parts on a bike before and the seat is just the dogs bollox. That looks so trick. 350Z + Gixxer = loads of fun on two and four wheels. 370Z = a bit more fun than a 350Z but with the added bonus of two wheels when the mood takes you.
  6. Welcome to the forum Richard, that's a tidy looking Zed you've got your hands on there, it seems like the lurking you did on the site paid off as it looks like you bought exactly what you were looking for.
  7. I would definitely say that its priced to sell what with all of the trick bits on it and the unique paint job someone is going to buy the bargain of a lifetime. I can see your point considering you only did 200 miles last year and you've yet to put any miles on it this year, it just seems such a shame that you've put all that time and effort into it only for someone else to reap the benefit of it. The way I see it, its a work of art and personally I wouldn't want to see anyone else riding it especially if they didn't look after it the way you have. I guess what I'm saying is that if it was mine I'd be happy just knowing it was in the garage and I could go out for a blast at any time and I'd feel a bit sick if I sold it, leaving a GIXXER spaced gap in my garage. I only hope you don't regret selling it. Works of art only go up in value.
  8. Bloody hell Andy, this is the tidiest Gixxer I think I've ever seen. I think its in better condition than when it left the factory and there's a fair old pile of trick bits added on to it as well. Its a shame you have to get rid of it but as you say, its pretty much dead money sat there not being ridden. I've never seen an '07 with such low mileage and I can't see you struggling to get rid of it for the price you're asking for it. Is that a yellow MGB Roadster behind the bike in a few of the photo's? Good Luck with the sale, and as I say, I don't think you'll struggle in getting rid of it. If I had the spare funds I'd snatch your hands off but unfortunately that's not the case.
  9. You know the car, you know its history, you've never had any trouble with it, there's no guarantee that if you buy another you'll not be plagued by problems, you're not desperate for the cash (which makes a big difference) you already have a project car. If it was me,it would be a case of better the devil you know and I'd be inclined to keep it. There are a lot of sheds out there and as much as you know about Zeds there are a lot of creative bodgers out there who are great at covering all sorts of potentially massive problems.
  10. Well, a belated welcome to the forum an good luck in your hunt for a 350Z.
  11. Why don't you fit some high flow cats, this will go part way to solving the problem of you running rich.
  12. Your DE is definitely not a Rev-Up as these only came with manual gearboxes so you have nothing to worry about. The interior you have fitted is the 06 update so there is nothing amiss here.
  13. Oh jeez, I really hope this is something that just doesn't catch on over here. I can't think of anything more bloody ridiculous. I just hope it stays over in the states where this crap belongs.
  14. Unfortunately won't be able to make it as I'm off on hols for a month starting beginning of August. Apologies.
  15. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting rid of that old shed of a Ford lol.. The main tip I can think of is to keep your pockets full of cash as compared to your old Focus this Zed is going to drink fuel like its going out of fashion, although 24mpg around town isn't too bad. Make sure to use 98ron Shell V-Power or you run the risk of detonation (not good for the engine). Make sure you change the oil regularly with a good synthetic every 6K miles, although some members replace theirs every 3K. The main thing though is to enjoy the exhaust note and enjoy driving it. Have fun.
  16. I would go for coil pack under load, if it was MAF I think it would pose problems throughout the rev range although I stand to be corrected.
  17. And just how much would you be wanting for this here stubby?
  18. Sounds really nice and crisp. I want one.
  19. OOoohh Christmas has come early with nice shiny presents.
  20. Is it the near side or offside light that the leg snapped off ?
  21. Am I right in thinking that the 150 is £150 ? Is the tube black plastic or anodised metal ?
  22. As well as getting uprated SGS struts you could always remove the counterweight in the back of the boot lid, just remove the boot cover and its the large black weight which surprisingly weighs quite a lot.
  23. I always thought that fitting bonnet catches on carbon fibre bonnets was a given and not something that was passed over. They're not fitted purely for decoration but as a necessity. I'm not sure if Andy's Auto Sport ships over to this country but if it does I'd be very careful about what you order as I've heard some absolute horror stories from this company regarding delivery dates and disgraceful customer service. Check out the 350Z site in the USA and you'll find customers who have been waiting up to a year for delivery and of being passed from pillar to post when trying to get their money refunded.
  24. The above should help sort out the problem for you.
