  1. It sounds like your motor could be on its way out, this happened to me. Sometimes the window would operate OK then other times it would only open part way then stop. Pushing the switch would elicit no sound at all yet I'd go back the next day and all would be well. sometimes the window wouldn't open at all. The result for me was to buy a new motor which solved the problem completely. you can refurbish motors by replacing the bushes which are usually worn down to a tiny stub. Replacements can be bought from RadioShack and I've repaired a spare passenger window motor this way. I tried cleaning it out first but this only worked for a couple of months before I started encountering problems again.
  2. Congrats I4N on your success, I was going to suggest that maybe the micro switch in the door jamb was sticking but I'll just grab my coat and head for the door.
  3. I know its a totally different car and a totally different weight so is probably irrelevant but my mothers Fiesta runs on 17"s and the pressure for those tyres is 33PSI.
  4. I wouldn't have thought that you'd get much help from Nissan UK as I was under the impression that they hated imports with a passion.
  5. As ChrisB mentions these motors get totally filled with crap but can be cleaned out and the brushes replaced. I can't remember the link but there's a part number for the brushes which are really cheap. I don't want to be taking money out of Alex's hand but you could end up saving £170 plus.
  6. Well at least this restores your faith in humanity, when things like this happen it makes up in some small part for the dickheads who just drive off with a self satisfied smug feeling.
  7. You have good friends if they're prepared to stand outside in the pouring rain for you. What caused your problem, do you know?
  8. They look quite robust and hardwearing what with the rose joints. Some of the Driftworks kit looks really well put together, unlike other company's I could mention.
  9. I quite like the wheels in that colour. They've come up really well.
  10. Welcome to the forum and I hope your viewing goes well at the weekend.
  11. If you replaced your clutch 5 years ago and just replaced the slave its generally considered the best thing to do to replace the slave and master cylinders together. This is possibly what is causing your problem.
  12. Wow, first time I've heard of this happening. Do you have your heating on full blast?
  13. I'm only glad you didn't do what a member of my350z did in USA. He washed his car and then instead of using a polishing compound he decided like a prize dickhead to use a RUBBING compound on every panel and wondered why his car looked all dull. He Is now hoping he hasn't gone through the clearcoat,.
  14. I think 25mm on the rear and 20mm on the front with standard wheel sizes and offsets is probably about as large as you can go without encountering problems. Plus these sizes fill the arches just right.
  15. There is a link on this site (also on www.my30.com) of how to do this, and as bamdc2 mentions, if you can remove a wheel you'll be able to sort this out for way less than a stealer or mechanic will charge you. It'll also give you the confidence to try more things regarding maintenance on you Zed thus saving you a small fortune.
  16. I'm only glad you had quick enough reflexes to avoid an accident, like you say there's a time and a place to drive the way this dickhead did and it usually involves old Jags & Rovers driving round a circular track. He needs to be made aware that his style of driving isn't appreciated and it gives us all a bad name by association.
  17. Something looks a bit strange as the drivers window doesn't appear to be shut. Is it dirt or do those headlight lenses look so cloudy there's a storm brewing? Poor sod, I feel quite sorry for it.
  18. Chances are that the condensation has caused some of the connections to become rusty preventing a good connection. I'd tale the light out and see what conditions things are in as it might be as simple as giving the connections a quick rub over with some wet n dry.
  19. The two bugbears of the 350Z for me are trying to replace the dipstick and the height of the clutch pedal. This is a great, easy to understand process of how to adjust the clutch pedal and it will be something I'll be attempting to do this weekend. Thanks for a great write up.
  20. Save yourself some money and buy some 2500 grit wet n dry from Halfords (or a hardware shop) rub down the lense with the wet n dry until the lense is clear again. The milky looking substance coming off the wet n dry is the old clear oat. When you have the lense looking like new again apply UV protectant clear varnish. I used some from a marine supplier as boats take a hell f a beating from the sun. Apply in light coats giving It about 3 coats and this will give you protected lenses for 5 plus years. Total cost about £12, with plenty left for another day.
