  1. The main benefit of the pedal dance is that it can show you just what fault code is being displayed by counting the number of flashes during the process whilst just disconnecting the battery just to reset the ECU give you no idea as to what is potentially wrong with the car.
  2. Ten years for a battery is not bad going as far as I'm concerned, although I suppose a lot depends on whether the car had run numerous shortish journeys or a fair few motorway journeys.
  3. I'm not surprised it has sold at that price as it looked in tidy condition and had a full service history, not sure if it had had a carfax check or something similar and its always difficult to tell if all of the panels are straight in photo's and if the service history is full with no gaps and also if it was still running the original clutch etc. But on the whole it didn't look too bad. Just a case of keeping 'em peeled.
  4. I'm with Wackywill probably worth about £400 to £450, but then again its only worth what someone is prepared to pay.
  5. Welcome to the forum and congratz on the purchase or your new Zed. I should hope it does sound just a little different than your old Corsa. You will initially find it different to drive than your Corsa but it won't take long to get used to it. As for the stone chips, an occupational hazard I'm afraid only remedied by having the front end resprayed every couple of years. Happy motoring though!!!
  6. Just out of curiosity can I ask whereabouts you got your Fujitsubo back box & mid-pipe from ?
  7. Congratz on completing them with a clear round do we start to call you Harvey Smith from now on? LOL

    Dampers

Wanted, all four dampers, standard or otherwise with low mileage. Anything under 35,000 miles considered. Also drop links, again standard or any other make considered. Cash waiting.
  9. Hey Mr Madhatter, if you get let down on the Scorpion exhaust then I have cash waiting, just let me know what he situation is. Thanks. Rgds, SAM.
  10. I think I'm correct in saying that even if your car has a cat 1 immobiliser (like the 350Z) you can still get a further 5% off your premium or something like that.
  11. Hey Pawel, welcome to the forum and congratz upon being the owner of a 350Z.
  12. Hey Jabbah, welcome to he form an I hope that when you picked up your 350Z on saturday it was all that you wished it was to be and more.
  13. Contact ZmanAlex, he has them in for a reasonable price compared to Nissan UK prices, I think Alex sells them for approx. £180.
  14. I never bothered buying a relay, all I did was wrap a load of insulating tape around it, put it all back together and 18 months later I'm still getting a free back massage, but then again I'm the sort of guy who turns his underwear inside out, so you could say I'm a bit of a tightwad. I'm a tightwad, there you go!!
  15. Have you tried fiddling with the internal door lock on the armrest? Or have I totally misinterpreted what you wrote in your initial post?
  16. I've driven to Coventry and back with my fuel gauge reading -----. That's about 28 miles. I had a fuel can of 98ron in the boot but it still hadn't run out, these gauges are garbage to say the least.
  17. If you replace the brushes (some need a slight trim to fit) chances are you're going to get plenty of life out of the refurbed motor. Just cleaning the motor out will give you a few weeks a best of usage, at least this is what I've found with these crappy motors!!
  18. If its only fluctuating between 5-10psi when hot then I wouldn't be worried myself.
  19. Its just your Zed crying because you're not driving it hard enough.
  20. My guess is knackered thermostat or blocked radiator, with a lap of the Nurburgring exposing the problem. I just hope its not your head gasket.
  21. Its wise to run the aircon at least once a week for a few minutes or so as it prevent seals and hose from drying out and cracking and keeps the clutch in good order.
  22. I was told that when you've used aircon, when you come to the end of your journey then turn the temperature up for a couple of minutes to dry out all of the hoses and this will prevent any odour. I've done this and never had any problems in any of the vehicles I've owned with aircon.
  23. I'm probably going to get slated for this, but the 4th paragraph of your original post you mention the cost of a roadmap. WH Smith do AA roadmaps for £2-99, so this could be your first cheap mod. Sorry I just couldn't help it.
  24. Totally agree regarding the purchase of a one way train ticket. This is what I did after questioning the seller as though I was a member of the Stasi. Two years later and I'm still a happy chappy, only forking out for consumables (oil, filters and a set of rear tyres) and loving every minute my ass hits the seat.
  25. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the mileage as long as services have been regular and the oil used is good quality. The DE engines were designed to cover 200k+ miles and I know of owners in the USA have covered this and some more. So I wouldn't worry too much about mileage. Its just the rest of it that needs thoroughly checking out.
