One classy looking zed

I've had flies set off my alarm a few times so not daft at all. Also sometimes if my battery has gone low it has triggered an alarm on a previous car so that's maybe another culprit.

Zed is used daily but 2 other cars used infrequently so I top them up every few months. My Kia is on charge as we speak It's meant the Bosch S4 battery in my Mini is still going strong after nearly 9 years. But the original battery in my Diesel Kia still died after 8 years despite regular maintenance. Nothing lasts forever I guess. The AA charger is only 1.5 amps so very slow, and won't work if the battery is fully flat but has been reliable for me over past 5 years and was alot cheaper than a Ctek one.

Only ever seen one Zed with a blower sitting on the bonnet. Apparently you can get a K&N blower with dual intakes on a DE that'll give you 422bhp at the wheels as long as you keep the standard exhaust as it gives better "back pressure" It didn't go down well with the car community

Drove alongside an awesome black coupe this morning. Bronze rims with crazy concaveness. Nismo rear wing. The car took off like a jet plane later....... whining noise from the engine was epic as was the exhaust note. It was as if my ears could "feel" the non stop torque as it drove off shifting through the gears as it joined the motorway

Welcome to the OC. I've seen a red and white one local to me a few times. The contrasting body colour definitely looks better in the flesh. Seeing the front in person makes it look lower, wider and meaner

This looked like an epic meet. Many thanks to all l for posting all the photos and video. Looking at them almost gives the feel of being there! Or at least makes me feel more sorry for myself that I couldn't make it

Never used any sealants over the past 15 years of ownership. Just weekly washing, with a quick 30 second polish inside and out every month. Even though they may still "look" shiny after a month or two of just washing, the polishing little but often just keeps them smooth and shiny with minimal effort meaning never needing hard scrubbing or wire wool. I suppose any of the popular metal polishes would work for light duties. I've had good results with Autosol and Megs Metal Polysh like this.

Welcome to the OC. Keep an eye out on the OC for owners selling up. There'll probably be alot of history on the forums of their cars comings and goings if they're active members. You'll get a much better idea of how well the car has been looked after than reading an ad on auto trader from an unknown seller

Wiper arms looking . Mine is an 05 too and the arms are starting to bubble at the bases. May have to add that to my list.
