Thanks for the replies guys. Will get these belts replaced at service time in a few weeks.

Checked the fluids the other day and noticed one of the belts infront of the engine is cracking. What do I ask for if ordering a new one and should I replace the others at the same time? Damn phone won't let me upload the image! I'll try and upload from the pc tonight. It's the belt on your right side as you look into the engine bay if that helps for now.

I used to use something similar to let me wash the zed in the evenings during the winter.......lit up the whole street. When i first used them the woman across the street opened her curtains thinking the sun had come out Now I've got securitylights installed on the wall with manual override. Saves me setting up the tripods. So now i just use a floor mounted one to illuminate the side of the zed that the wall lights cast a shadow on and jobs a goodun

I had a grand plan in 2000 after driving a Honda Prelude for a couple of years I was hooked on Jap motors and was going to save and get one of the turbo'd Jap heros of the 90s. Supra, RX7, Subaru, etc etc. Had stacks of Japanese Performance mags and ummed and arrrred for 5yrs In the end bottled out of getting a 10 yr old Supra and popped in to Nissan simply "on passing". Took a test drive and was hooked. Went back and ordered one brand new with a plan to keep it FOREVER. 7 yrs on I've lost a huge wedge in depreciation, but worth every penny, as after a good detail and drive out she feels every bit as special as when I first got her

Someone told me that tyres should be replaced after 6yrs regardless of wear for safety. TRUTH or URBAN LEGEND? It's just that our BMW Mini is 6yrs old now and with only 20k of pootling miles has plenty tread left. Never need to improve lap times in it .......so ultimate performance not an issue but will replace if there are genuine safety issues.

Tescos do great applicator pads packs. Same size as the Megs foam applicators. 1 foam pad and a few microfiber ones along with a handle that attaches to them all for about 4 quid. I only used the handle when using SRP to de swirl my rear by hand otherwise I use the MF pads as applicators on their own.

Was filling up with Tesco's finest when a guy filling up his 2011 Audi A1 came over and asked "excuse me sir.....which car wash place do you use? Your 05 zed looks better than my new A1. The finish they get at my carwash place is a bit crap!" I told him I detail the zed myself and the reason his paint looked "cr@p" was the rushed job he was getting at said carwash was swirling his paint. Told him to just remember the word "detailingworld" and all would be revealed Either he becomes a convert to detailing or will think the guy in that sunset zed is an OCD NUTCASE At least he appreciated the beauty of a nicely detailed zed
