  1. In the original eBay add he says...... "lowering springs have been added to give THE CORRECT RIDE HIEGHT" http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ferrari-F430- ... 27&afsrc=1
  2. Zed is parked in the car park outside the dental surgery where I work. Over the past 7 yrs most patients know it's my pride and joy. Today someone commented in a jovial way how nice I have kept it over the years, and if I wanted it keeping that way I'd better not hurt him I'm sure it was out of jest as I get on really well with him but having everyone know that the tango chariot is mine certainly ensures EXTRA GOOD customer service even when they are totally unreasonable. Anyone else fear for their zed due to vengeful customers/clients at work?
  3. Crazy compilation there. Thanks for posting
  4. Wow... That is sad news. Hope you make continued love and care a mandatory condition of sale
  5. Cheers Mr Biscuit I have told my mate to do a couple of laps of the M60......Manchester's version of the M25.
  6. Enjoy your new car. I was the same as you.......never got involved in forums til zed ownership. Many an hour has vaporised on the net since then
  7. I remember reading a thread recently where someone posted info on diesel particulate filters. If I remember correctly it went along the lines of the filter collects the particles and they get "burned off" during a long run. My mate has been told this filter is throwing a cel light on his 3.0 diesel A8. Can a good run at high revs clean the filter, and if so what constitutes a good run in terms of time and rev range? Also, having a diesel as my family car should I be taking it for some canage on a regular basis to keep the filter in good nic? Any advice welcome guys (and gals)
  8. Westway Nissan haven't changed much then. In 2005 went to look at a new zed. Rang to book an appointment to finalise specs and place an order. Arrived on time and was told to wait for the salesman who was dealing with my sale. Half hour later, still waiting. When I asked how much longer I was told not long as he was out taking someone on a test drive! I immediately left and went to Westway Stockport.
  9. Even worse than small engined cars with huge cans is small engined cars with dual or quad exit exhausts with fumes emanating from ONLY ONE of the tips
  10. Should get cheaper road tax on a '04/'05 zed too which is always a bonus
  11. I have heard that even in the winter you should use the AC once a week or so to prevent the pipes in the AC system drying and cracking. Using the AC with the heaters on sounds daft but does dry the air and helps demist the screen. So once you get it sorted, if not using the AC all the time at least give it a good use once a week or so to keep the system "lubed and moist"
  12. Was nice meeting you at L&G. Glad you found your way over here. When you get time post up some pics of your zed and indulge us in some of your track stories and euro road trips
  13. Compared to this one spotted by Ricey it's a bargain http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p Seeing it with all the Decals removed I reckon it actually looked better with all it's livery.
  14. Welcome from a fellow '05 owner. Another tip is when checking the wear of the brake pads the inner ones have a tendency to wear faster than the outers to the extent outers could look meaty and inners worn to the max.
  15. I was in a similar situation years ago pre 9/11 at Schipol airport in Amsterdam. I was on a city break with the missus and and saw a beautiful Chinese broadsword with scabbard for an unbelievably good price. Blade was not "live/sharp" as it was more for competition/demonstration use. At the airport I asked check-in desk best way to check it in as it was fragile. Was told I could wrap and tie it in a towel and hand it to the cabin crew on boarding (I know....sounds crazy now when you can't even have nail file ) Just before boarding, hand luggage and wrapped sword go through x ray. The half asleep operator jumps up startled speaking Dutch on the walky talky. Moments later 2 guards with guns run up. I'm trying to explain I was just following instructions but xray man ain't listening. Guards ask me why I have a sword. I explain it's to use when I compete at kungfu competitions, it isn't sharp and proceed to unwrap it to show them. THEY DRAW THEIR WEAPONS SHOUTING "FREEZE"! After checking it wasn't sharp I'm allowed onboard WITH MY SWORD Can't imagine the outcome in post 9/11 times
  16. Over the past 7 yrs my light has come on about 4 times. Each time it was the O2 sensors and the code was simply cleared. Engine is standard with no mods. The last time it came on I did the pedal dance and it worked a treat
  17. I think when the dealer bought it off the original owner he misunderstood the history and thought that it had been serviced from new by none other than NELSON MANDELA rather than NEESAN MAINDEALER. May explain the price premium
  18. This ain't the case in Malaysia.......don't even need an MOT With over 300% tax on Beemers and Jap performance cars the 2nd hand values are sky high too. A few years back my cousin over there rolled his dad's 330i saloon wrecking every panel and all 4 alloys. All air bags deployed and he was unscathed. Insurance company wouldn't write it off despite my uncle arguing that it was a ball of scrap. THEY FIXED IT AND RETURNED IT TO HIM . He said it never felt the same so sold it on. So sad in the UK by comparison where some genuinely good cars get written off for what appears to be minor fender benders due to price of parts exceeding the threshold of the respective 2nd hand value
  19. I remember having my 19s in the house a week before getting them fitted. Come on....fess up.....were you tempted to keep them as decorative items indoors. I know I was
  20. Went for a P1 service and new pads and met DaJimstar and a newbie who I've convinced to join (hopefully). So hope to see another "buster" on board. He was a bit upset when I told him the username buster was taken Forgot to take pics .....garage bays looked good full of zeds
  21. Just a thought. Was speaking to someone today who had a quote for £900 to insure his zed and when he went online he got fully comp EUROPEAN cover for £700 which allows him to drive in Europe too He couldn't find the number on his phone when I asked him for a contact but said it was via a broker and with AXA. Worth a try
