  1. +1 Get a bottle/kettle of TEPID water and slowly go round the door/glass frame. Gets you in in a jiffy. I normally fill a 2l bottle the night before and thus know its just room temp. Use it on windscreen and to open the door. 6 yrs on and still no cracked glass If it was as icy as last year it took 2 bottles as the defrost is very slow with room temp water......but safer
  2. Really feel for your family. I know how you all feel as I got broken into around the same time a few years back. I was away at the time but a friend oversaw the boarding up of my front door. He was a little concerned that it was just chipboard screwed into the frame with philips screws but it was better than leaving me with no front door. Once the dust had settled I was thankful that we were away. Dread to think what would happen if we were in. Would it have all kicked off with harm to me or my family? Would the burglars have come off worse with revenge visits coming later? Had a friend who had an Audi TT when they first came out. Knock on the door one night. Gun in his face. Beat him up. Tied up girlfriend. Ransacked the house. Took him to max out his cards at ATM and booze shops while accomplices held girlfriend hostage at home. Then took his TT and left I know you are all full of rage at present but hopefully the insurance can help to replace some of the losses and your family are all safe.
  3. I remember a failed 350z carjacking in the UK because the carjacker couldn't start the zed. DIDN'T DEPRESS THE CLUTCH That's one lucky owner
  4. With tech improving so fast year on year do you think electric cars will be hit with a double whammy in depreciation. Just looking at other things like plasma/lcd TVs for example.......my 4yr old plasma has been superseeded by a model much better at less than half the price making its 2nd hand value peanuts.
  5. Laws of the land are messed up. If the police catch the lowlife criminal and they are a brokea$$ junkie you get no compensation. Junkie probably gets bugger all jail time. You catch the criminal and **** him, you get a record, maybe lose job, HE GETS COMPO off YOU using legal aid "lawyers for u" type firms paid for by OUR taxes. Hearing stories like this gets me . Can only imagine the rage running through your veins.
  6. I listen to mainly hiphop with abit of r&b. My fav in ears at a reasonable cost are the SONY MDR XB40EX. These are the older model from their XBS EXTRA BASS range. I just bought a spare set last week from amazon or play....cant quite remember......but were £35. They have 13.5mm drivers and a clip on the wire which cansecure them to t shirt etc so less tugging them out of lugholes when running etc. On headphone forums like HEADFI they say theres too much bass making them only good for hiphop/r&b....FULL OF WIN!
  7. Stock 18s are a good looking rim. Look better than their more expensive Rays option. I bet the reflections off the curved spokes are even better in their new darker colour
  8. You may to speak up.....I think Dave may have gone deaf OOOOO.....NOT SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE. TELL US MORE!
  9. Can't beat birthday weekends......happy birthday
  10. Ooooo....not seen anything like that before. Tell us more
  11. http://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-driv ... -info.html ALOT of info here.......TOOO MUCH IN FACT!
  12. Hope all goes well and we see some pics of your zed in the intro section
  13. There's only 2 things stopping me getting these......... The police pulling me AND GETTING FLAMED TO DEATH BY ALL YOU GUYS
  14. Did they not replace it for you? Did they charge you? The guys said that if the light stays off new sensor not needed. Charged me £33. I didn't expect it for free as they are trying to make a living. Being not that clued up about O2 sensors I thought it wiser to visit a garage than just reset myself letting damage go undetected. But if this the accepted protocol by you fellow zedders I will try a reset myself first if this happens in years to come.
  15. OK. Went Costco today for some groceries and checked their oil stocks. Castrol Edge was 5w40. For those with steads requiring a cheaper oil they had magnetec 5w30 for under £20 for 4l. 20% discount ends on the 20th
  16. Saw your azure parked right opposite the entrance looking spotless They checked my zed and confirmed the O2 sensor causing code 1147 to be displayed. They cleared it and ran it. No CEL warnings so let me on my way. All good so far
  17. see you at L&G then, mines in for a service I am due at L&G around 1.30pm as long as I don't break down on the way . So I might see you there depending on how long it takes for them to verify the fault code and come up with a plan for me to return for repairs.
  18. Funniest comment i ever got was when i forgot to top up the parking meter. Came back to my sunset orange coupe to see a ticket. MAKE-NISSAN MODEL-350Z COLOUR............UNKNOWN!
  19. Many thanks for the reply. I was imagining all sorts on the drive home.....engine running lean, pinking etc......and I don't even know what these terms really mean suffice to say I worried about engine damage of some sort
  20. This a very very special/lucky date in the Chinese calendar Congrats to the lucky couple
  21. Firstly, many thanks to all who have posted all the info on the forum. From the list of codes to the "secret handshake pedal manoeuvre" After a spirited exit from a roundabout the slip light blinked and then the dreaded engine light came on Engine was well warmed up at the time and all fluids at correct levels. Drove home keeping revs below 2k . Got the CEL flashing the following sequence ....147114711471..... Checking the list I assume it's 1147 heated O2 sensor 2. SO THE BIG QUESTION IS....IS IT OK TO DRIVE UNTIL IT'S FRIDAY APPOINTMENT AT THE GARAGE?
  22. Just seen a Costco leaflet. One of the sale items is Castrol Edge fully synthetic oil at £23.02 incl VAT for 4l. Offer ends 20/11/11. Not sure about the range of viscosity they stock but the price is one of the lowest I've seen on this oil. If I visit Costco I will post up what viscosity they stock.
  23. Lockwood and Greenwood are good with zeds. Audenshaw Manchester M34 5PT Alot of members use them.
  24. Saw this on another forum http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/s ... p?t=236873
