Life sucks at the moment. Home is mad and a mess. Work is mad and a mess. BUT WHEN I GET IN THE ZED FOR THE DAILY COMMUTE......IT'S ALL GOOD AGAIN! It's my sanctuary where I can keep it clean and kiddyclutter free, stick on some tunes and forget about all the shite going on.

Saw a disturbing documentary on Ch5 today at 8.00pm about Robert Black. A sick serial killer of little girls. Finally caught in 1990 near Scotland when a witness finally saw him bundle a 6yr old girl into his car. They phoned the police who sent patrols searching for his van. A policeman recognised his van as he doubled back out of the area. On searching the back of his van found a 6yr old girl gagged and stuffed in a sleeping bag after having been abused. What was even more horrific was IT WAS THE POLICEMAN'S OWN DAUGHTER! How the hell he managed to control himself and not pummel the evil **** to a pulp there and then I don't know Guys like this deserve a punishment along the lines of the film "law abiding citizen" etc

Ahhhh, wouldn't it be great if this was on the options list along with "avoid motorways" etc Do any of you think something like this may eventually be possible? Maybe at least "route with the least speed bumps". Or maybe this is as impossible as "route without potholes" Got a wedding to go to just south of London. After seeing the muddy roads of another members "adventures" it left me wanting for extra functions on my satnav Looking forward to the drive. It's been over a year since I've gone for a long drive in the ZED

If you ask me, the spectators are braver/crazier than the drivers!

Zed is called "DIE LOWW" This is Cantonese for big brother, often used by triads when referring to the big boss. The black and white mini is named after wife's panda teddy...PADDY.

Damn.....that's a bit of bad news especially after being so careful in looking after the Volk's. I hope you find a cure without going through the expense of a refurb. If all else fails, before you go for a refurb you could try those impregnated sponges that JML and the like sell. I used some on my neighbours car where Chipsaway oversprayed a panel trapping dust underneath too! I have read similar stories on how fragile the lips are on my LMGT4's. So much so, for the past 5 years I only clean them with a running hose and a MF cloth. Then every couple months use a sealant with built in cleansers to remove any ingrained dirt and add protection. Good luck Chris.

Bring back the good old punishment......"an eye for an eye" Anyone found carving into a man's ride with a key should be payed back with a carving ON THEIR FACE! Better still, let us carve the words "I keyed a car" across their face. Sorry for the extremeness but I'm having rage issues lately:(

My bum gets a toasting as well as my back. The leather takes longer to heat up than fabric heated seats but does get warm on bum and back.

Paint Shield: G-Techniq C1 Hydrophobic Crystal Laquer
HEADPHONES replied to Christian350z's topic in Car Detailing
I put a coat of C1.5 on the Zed beginning of September. Washed it yesterday and the beading is still tight. Lasting much longer than the Collinite wax I used to have. Dosn't feel as slick/slippery though. C1 gives even greater durability than C1.5 but needs a lot more prep with an IPA wipedown and also I think I read that the coating needs 2 days to cure "without touching water!". I'm happy with the C1.5, but would switch back to wax in a heartbeat when I have more time to detail as I miss that slickness you get for the first few weeks:(. -
How much do you miss washing your car?
HEADPHONES replied to The Bounty Bar Kid's topic in Off Topic Discussion
In the years B.C (before children) I used to treat my baby to the full monty every month or so with a wash every week. Nothing could beat caressing the paint near the door handles after a good waxing. The slippery slick feeling as my fingertips gently brushed against the paint. All smooth and glasslike sparking off signals of delight up my arm, to the back of my neck all the way to my brain giving a warm buzzing feeling. After a light shower......admiring the little beads of water on her......which would sometimes trickle down her flanks drawing my gaze across her bodywork as it did so accentuating her luscious curves. I've no idea why my wife says I have an unhealthy obsession with the Zed :b I now try and spend as much time as possible with my two little'uns. Switched from wax to sealants from Gtechniq which is still beading great since September! Wash every 1-2 weeks at night when kids asleep. CAN'T BEAT A WELL CLEANED CAR.......IT'S LIKE GETTING A BRAND NEW CAR! -
There is an app or a software setting to help with the broken HOME button. My boss was showing me his iPhone 4. His HOME button bust ages ago and he now has one that appears on the screen when he presses any other button. I'm sure if you search around you might find someway of doing this. If not let me know and I'll ask my boss later.

Wow! Man did well to stand after that.

Feeling your pain JEMAN. Your sunset zed is GLOWING in that last pic. Makes you understand why Nissan chose it as their signature colour. Always nice to see pics of fellow sunset zeds

My uprated ones cope with my Nismo spoiler down to about zero degrees. For the first few years they were even OK well below zero........c'est la vie:(

I got updated ones in 2007. They were thicker than my OEM ones and are still holding up....just. When it was -3 deg they started to struggle a bit but are fine now we are around 4 deg. Got mine under warranty so not sure about the advertised ones.

Back on topic. I find it's the opposite for me in Manchester. In my Zed, I find people expecting me to be some testosterone charged maniac and making space for me! For example, I'll be on the inside lane at the lights. Lights go green. I crawl away slowly and the car next to me in the "fast" lane crawls away even slower awaiting me to zoom off ahead. Or I'll be in the slow lane pootling along and the traffic ahead slows, cars in the outside lane slow down leaving a gap expecting me to suddenly pull out from the bus ahead. Totally different when I'm in the wife's mini cooper. People will bully me back into the inside lane or cut in front of me like I'm not even there. Maybe it's down to the mini being a boring white and the zed being an in your face sunset orange?

If money was no object I wouldn't be a chav. http://zclub.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=498&size=big&cat= The above Veilside Zed looks menacing enough not to be "bullied" as the OP has mentioned without looking tacky (I think anyway) In my defence(if slightly off topic) my fav zeds were the black one that belonged to CRAGUS and the similar one from Nitrouz zed on My350z........also menacing enough to scare off bullies but a little more discreet See pic at the top of this thread http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=283461&highlight=Cragus&page=3

Hello, new guy from Southampton!!
HEADPHONES replied to Toomer's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
How I envy you. At 20 I just about managed to roll with a bus pass. I bet the zed is a lot more impressive to the ladies than a buss pass :b. Congratulations on your Zed and welcome to the forum -
You got skills sir.......I salute you!

Split head open....slipped on wet floor whilst getting a seeing to in a public toilet.......DISGUSTING! Floors should be checked regularly to prevent such unfortunate events!
-
Those were some scary roads! Balls the size of melons I reckon.
-
If money was no object, I'd turbo the zed, slap on some blinging Volks and wide body Veilside kit and intimidate everyone else.....watch the traffic move like Moses parting the waves......hehehe.

Which new models are uglier than their predecessors?
HEADPHONES replied to HEADPHONES's topic in Other Cars
The original Ford Ka was kind of cute and fresh when it came out. Followed by the STREETKA and SPORTKA keeping things funky. Last year my neighbour bought his wife the newer version. Ugly from all angles. Even the ones with the sport bodykit ( I use the term loosely! ) look bad. They got rid after a few months for a new polo. My eyes no longer bleed when looking outside.
