If you feel too embarrassed bringing 2 buckets with you try this. Bring 3-4 2 litre pump sprayers(£3.50 at Asda) filled with shampoo, a pre wash spray (eg Demon Machine Rapid Dirt Shifter) and your mitt. Pop in pound and pressure rinse. Cover car in prewash spray. Wash car with your mitt in right hand and a constant stream of clean shampoo from your spryer in left hand. Due to lack of rinse bucket the prewash and constant stream of shampoo will help to lube the surface and reduce grit. Then pressure rinse. Try just doing the rims with a pump sprayer and wheel brush/mitt first. It will be faster and less IN YOUR FACE easing you into not feeling so embarrassed. Also go when it's quiet. I do it at night at Tescos before my shopping when I don't have time at home .

Drive way problems ~ help appreciated
HEADPHONES replied to GMballistic's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I feel your pain. Drove my brand spanking new zed home from the dealership. Get home and the front of my Nismo bumper scraped as I tried to enter the drive! Luckily I was going slow and stopped. Only a slight scratch on the underside. Finally found 1 safe angle onto the drive.......phew. Hope your plan works out :tumbs: -
Great to have you aboard!

You may have already seen this test thread but if not thought it may be of interest http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=320684

Their 20% off offer is back. From 17 March to 6 April. You can also get the cheaper Magnatec 5w30 at £18.22 for 4 litres if funds (or YOU) are really tight! These are prices INCLUDING vat

Never thought a shampoo could affect things so much. I always thought all shampoos were more or less the same apart from some having "wax" or gloss enhancers. I applied C2v3 to the zed about a month ago too. Hard to report on durability as when I wash it I normally spray some wax it wet stuff on as a drying aid (got loads at about £2 each so be rude not to). The mini however I will run as a HydrO2 stand alone test alongside yours
-
I used a hose with a spray gun on fan setting for the HydO2 and it seems fine. Deffo get good beading and a nice slick finish. Unless your water pressure is weak I can't see you finding any problems.

HydrO2 must be THE fastest sealant ever. I used it on our Mini last week......body and rims. First wash in 3 months! In under an hour I managed a 2BM wash IronX and clay the boot and seal body and rims. Will be interesting to see how it compares when you use it as I didn't do a thorough paint cleanse on the main body.

I'll be on the look out for you during my daily commute in Manchester.

Recommendations for exterior black plastic revival
HEADPHONES replied to Randy_Baton's topic in Car Detailing
I used Gtechniq C4 on our 2006 Mini over 6 months ago. Still as fresh a the day I applied it. Only downside is you have to scrub the surface really well with APC and then IPA so needs more prep than other products. But then again it doesn't need doing again for AGES. -
£5 gizmo to clean wheel arches and undercarriage
HEADPHONES replied to HEADPHONES's topic in Car Detailing
This is just a heads up if you have an Asda nearby. It showed as sold out online on Sunday but when doing my shopping I thought I'd look in the garden section. Low and behold.....loads on the shelf -
Introducing the "Asda 10 pattern water wand" http://direct.asda.com/ASDA-10-Pattern-Water-Wand/001670214,default,pd.html Attaches to your hosepipe. Can wash under the zed and I was pleasantly surprised when it tucked under the arches too! My zed isn't lowered and sits on 19's. If I feed the head of the wand from the base of the wheel behind the bumpers I can blast out the crud in the arches without taking off the wheels or jacking it up. ALL FOR A FIVER

Well done. Welcome to the family. -
I know what you mean about the tints. Many moons ago I had limo tints on a car. One rainy night I went to an industrial estate with no streetlights. Had to reverse out and couldn't see AT ALL......NADA! Quickly changed to light smoke. Ps. Lovely Porsche. The kit really sets it off.

anybody taken their Z through an automatic car wash?
HEADPHONES replied to KUGT4's topic in 350Z General
Like you, I'm finding I don't have those quality 1-3 hour detailing sessions anymore. Lots of great time saving stuff out now. Try Citrus Power degreaser by AutoFinesse. Meant to be a pre wash, but if time is lacking. Go to the garage. Spray on. Leave 5 mins to dwell. Jet wash off. Car will look 95% clean! See the effects on a White Ibiza on this thread with just the above on page 2 of this thread. No touch at all http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=330362&page=2. As for sealants when you do manage a proper wash. Carpro HydrO2. Wash car. Rinse. Spray HydrO2 on wet car. Rinse off. DONE. No "Mr Miyagi" wax on...wax off! -
Help viewing a 350z in didsbury, manchester
HEADPHONES replied to lbeddowscbr's topic in 350Z General
I'm based im Manchester. Not free on Saturday unfortunately. However I am free tomorrow lunchtime or late evening. I own an 05 GT coupe that I've had from new. If you are free tomorrow lunchtime and can pop down to Rusholme, I'll be more than happy to show you round and take you for a ride in my zed. This will give you a baseline against which to compare prospective purchases. In my opinion mine is as fine an example as you'll find for a 9 yr old car..... BUT IM OBVIOUSELY BIASED Pm me your number if you want to hook up. -
Situations like this eat at you for a day or two. You feel like you let him get one over on you. Last year I had a very up close and personal confrontation in B&Q. I was next in line at the till. This oaf in a rush just pushed in front and dumped his stuff in front of my rope on the belt. I was gobsmacked. Said the usual "excuse me, I was here first" He replied " not anymore....just deal with it" Asked the lady at the til "are you going to serve this guy after he just pushed in?" She said she "none of my business....I don't want any trouble" and served him. My first thought as rage filled my veins was to grab my rope, round his neck from behind, take him down and strangle the fecker. Calmed down and thought to myself "today I LET a man live to see another day" Then left B&Q, went to my kungfu class and had a really good session:teeth: For a couple days I felt rotten for letting him treat me like that IN PUBLIC. But I got a career a family and responsibilities and not going to risk any repercussions resulting from battering a mindless oaf. You did right. Just think to yourself you LET HIM LIVE:p

Thought I'd sneak in a congratulations in the last few minutes of your birthday. Hope it was a good day. Andy

They are more than happy for you to supply your own parts or oil. Don't forget to mention you are a forum member to get a DISCOUNT!

I reckon they service more zeds than any other Nissan main dealer in Manchester. I been using them for past 5 years.

Firstly big respect to all those who've taken the decision to try and quit. As a dentist I have seen quite a few cases of mouth cancer. Primary cause as you've guesed is smoking. The stats are very alarming. In the UK alone we have 5 deaths a year JUST FROM MOUTH CANCER. The lucky ones we catch in time with surgery but even then it's horrific. Last year one of our patients survived but had to have half his tongue removed along with his lower jaw bone. They rebuilt his mandible with part of his hip. As far as we know, the e cigs cause none of the risks of tobacco as they don't contain the long list of toxins that tobacco has and so I'm more than happy for my patients to be on these long term I instead. At the last post graduate meeting on oral cancer I went to we were told that hopefully e cigs would soon be available from gp's on prescription. This would greatly reduce the cost as products such as patches etc are normally prescbed in a months batch at a time. ECIGS get my thumbs up

Guy got some skills. Never seen some of these kicks before!

This Could Get Expensive

Welcome to the forum. Hope your hunt goes well. I'm based in S. Manchester so any questions near the time of purchase let me know. Had my 2005 coupe nearly 9 years and still love it.
