  1. Can any tyre fitter change a tyre without damaging a rim or does the average equipment they have make scratching the rim unavoidable? With my OEM 18's the tyres were changed twice and each time damage occurred. First time they scored the rim around the bolt holes with careless socket use. Second time and different fitter left claw marks where the machine clamps grasped the edge of the rim. Luckily when I got my LMGT4s a work colleague introduced me to her cousin who owned a tyre place and all was well.No marks. No worries. But now he's sold up and disappeared. There's a new tyre place near work. Guy changed tyres on my wife's 15" Mini rims OK. Just don't know whether to trust him with my 19" Nismo's.
  2. Spotted today about 6.30pm. Only caught a glimpse of you so no chance to wave
  3. I'm loving the car AND the rims. For the plastic trim I cannot recommend Gtechniq C4 enough. When I used it it was like one of those WOW moments like the first time I discovered a clay bar or IronX. Even after multiple hits with APC and IPA it cleans out loads of old dressing from the plastics. Leaves the plastic "as new" with no glossy or greasy finish. No runs in the rain. 2 months after applying C4, my mini's plastics are still beading like crazy and look as good as they did leaving the showroom 7 years ago!
  4. Does this belong to anyone on here? The correction is top notch, with the lighting and angles showing sunset paint at it's best:#1: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=313057
  5. More skills than sense though.......no regard for human life at all!

Holds phone horizontally due to lack of cubby height, but under £3 delivered!
  7. New girl at work pays £8k on a standard 56 plate Astra! 21yrs old, 1yr no claims living in Manchester. She paid £2.5k last year on a 1.2 Corsa but wanted a bigger car causing the premium hike. God knows what the premium on a Zed would be for her.
  8. When our mini was almost 3 yrs old we were losing coolant at almost a litre a week. Was the thermostat housing in our case.
  9. Most memorable visits to the cinema for me. Primary school days. Dad took me to see STAR WARS at Odeon Leicester Square. Blew me away.and hooked ever since. When I was 19. Saw Jet Li for the first time as Wong Fei Hung in Once Upon A Time In China. Was a midnight showing for all the HK movie nuts. The whole theatre went nuts. Last but not least. The Matrix. Visuals took it to the next level. I don't think any other action based films have been as revolutionary as these. Maybe you can jog my memory if I've missed any others.

  11. Looks interesting.... what time you going Andy? Any idea how large the venue is? I've got plans at the moment but if they fall through i may make an appearance! Looks interesting.... what time you going Andy? Any idea how large the venue is? I've got plans at the moment but if they fall through i may make an appearance! Not often the missus wants me out the way for a morning without the kids so I'm gonna be there from 10-1pm. When I used streetview to view the location it looks like a.large industrial estate with plenty parking. Not sure how many going, but I know that they have regular detailingworld meets there with some show and shine prizes occasionally.
  12. Megs NXT metal polish and Autoglym SRP works. Obviously much easier with a machine than by hand but these 2 products have worked for me. Did mine a few weeks ago http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/70928-headlight-correction-using-srp/page__hl__%2Bheadlight+%2Bcorrection
  13. Hey Mr BM, you share your birthday with some of the all time greats AND ONE OF THEM IS ME
  14. This Sunday 10am to 1pm Hosted by Chemical Guys at Shinearama in Altrincham. It'll be the first detailing event I'm going to. Free to attend AND FREE BACON BUTTIES! http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=305627&highlight=Shinearama
  15. Autoglym SRP has one of the least abrasive polishing grades but also a good paint cleanser. The New Formulation version now has an even more durable sealant action too. Great results by machine. As it fills the swirls as well as lightly polishing the surface, there's less chance of damaging the paint. Just remember the fillers can wash out over time so topping with a wax will mean you only need to use it once or twice a year depending on how swirled the paint is.

    P3 Service?

As you can see from the service sheet, on the 350z the P2 and P3 are the same. The sheet states that with our LSD the oil is only inspected and not changed. Additional items at customers extra expense include.... Brake fluid change every 2 yrs Coolant change every 3 yrs New spark plugs every 5 yrs Just had my P2 at 8 yrs old including brake fluid change for just under £160 supplying my own oil at Lockwood and Greenwood independent in Manchester. They service a lot of the member's zed's in the North West and give a club discount too
  17. Great work there. I'll be having a crack at something similar taking on board some of your tips
  18. Damn......that ain't even funny. The car owner must be pi$$ed off big time. I know nothing abou dynos, so was it coz the driver gave it too much welly or just faulty equipment?
  19. I have a Silverline random orbital polisher that had rave reviews on detailing world years ago. Sat in the garage for years until I corrected my headlights. Now I want to tackle the zed's rear. I have at my disposal the following 5 1/2 inch pads Orange Menzerna fine polishing pad (very solid firm feeling) Black Scholl Concepts finishing pad (very soft wavy/bumpy foam) Lake Country Constant Pressure Pads green and white Polish wise I bought a sample of 3 Menzerna polishes Menzerna intensive polish Menzerna power finish polish P203s Menzerna super finish polish P085RE And good old Autoglym SRP I was going to go the recommended way of least aggressive pad and polish first, But thought I'd see if any other more experienced "machiners" had used any of the above products before. I've had the car from new and used a gentle 2BM wash from day one. There are hardly any swirls except for the rear. Never been corrected before except for a marathon session by hand with SRP on the rear which only got me about 75% perfect. The fillers have long since washed away so I don't really count the SRP as a true correction, but may give it a go with the machine first as it's the least aggressive "polish". If it's easy with the machine and lasts a year or so under some Collinite or Gtechniq C1.5 I'm more than happy to go with that if others say the Menz stuff is too dangerous on Zed paint. ANY ADVICE ON WHAT TO USE IS MUCH APPRECIATED
  20. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=307874 Would this look suit a zed?
  21. Spotted your ride this afternoon while getting my MOT done
  22. Scroll down to see a vid of this stuff in action http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=288445&page=13 I,ve got some and it works and smells very similar to IronX A bargain at £1.73. If you get it I'd transfer to a different spray bottle coz the original is rubbish and like a water gun wasting product. For Manchester members it can be found at Tesco Handforth Dean petrol station. I only bought one for myself as the rims on the zed rarely need more than shampoo, but my other cars rims aren't as pampered. If I posted this on detailingworld the members would wipe out the entire stock in one shot!
  23. WonderWheels HotWheels alloy wheel cleaner rrp £9.99 Currently 3 for 2 BUT......apparently they price match. This dude got it for £1.73 from Tesco petrol station Got Halfords to price match. Paid £3.48 for 3 bottles instead of £29.97! Then bought SIXTY BOTTLES to distribute to other detailingworld members. WHAT A HERO http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=288445&page=33 scroll down for pic of reciept
