I've not had to recharge or repair my AC in 10 years and it's still icy cold in summer
-
Could be moisture in the AC system that condenses during use and sits there once it's switched off. Like you say, switching it on clears the moisture but as soon as you turn car off and restart but with AC off you can smell that damp musty smell. Option 1 Keep AC on permanently. Option 2 If you use your AC, 5 mins before you end your journey turn AC off and heater on high. This dries off any moisture that has condensed in the system so that next day when you start car with AC off NO SMELL You should run the AC on at least once every week or so even in winter or the pipes dry out, crack and leak resulting in no AC come summer time. In winter turning heater on with AC acts like a dehumidifier. Don't have to run the AC on cold during winter!

Third option that I went for. Bought 2 new rears. Kept the old one. 2 yrs later I got another puncture on one of the rears. By that time the tread on the spare matched the other one and I was good to go Do I count myself lucky or unlucky I suppose if you consider the 2nd hand value not worthwhile you could keep it as a spare if you had space to store it.

Porsche in Sunset Orange? Porsche in the Glen, east kilbride
HEADPHONES replied to adam_350z's topic in Spotted or Flyered
It might be a colour Porsche offer coz I've seen a similar 911 numerous times here in Manchester. Either that or them Porker lovers have great taste in choosing a colour for a respray! -
Looks spot on to me. Amazing how new rims transform a car

The big question is HOW MUCH you wanna keep your Zed. I was truly smitten when I bought mine in 05 expecting a sprog free life. In 08 Isabella came along. Our other car was a 2006 mini so pressure was on me to change the zed. Amazingly we managed for 3 years using the Mini as our family car......then sprog number 2 came along! Pressure once again to sell up. Convinced the missus that the Mini cost peanuts to run as a third car and bought a Kia Sportage keeping the Zed. Now both my kids are able to ride in the Zed and love it. Our family is complete, wife, 2 kids and my Zed The biggest hurdle is the first year insurance with zero ncb on a 2nd car. With 1 yr ncb the insurance for me dropped to £295. Along with tax at about £200 and servicing at £100-200 it is not much more than the depreciation on selling the zed and paying to change (probably up) with associated future depreciation hit there too.

Nice to see another sunset owner. Welcome to the OC from an 05 sunset owner.

Car looks great in those pics. You must be well chuffed. Enjoy the zed and the owners club

This pillar looks too small to accommodate tht aerial. I have a JVC unit on the side of the front windscreen which is discreet. My installer tucked the wires under the trim easily and neatly.

Once I was just planning a Manchester to London trip. Evening beforehand I checked tyre pressure. One was down. Jacked her up and there was a screw inthe rear tyre. Gutted i had to take the Mini instead but dread to think of the damage or worse if I'd been going to London on that tyre!

Those are some tasty looking seats you have picked out Hopefully fitting is straight forward and I look forward to seeing fitted pics.

Without a divider, passers by can see whatever "goodies" you may have left in your boot. Worse still, if you are on the way back from the supermarket in a hurry and suddenly hit the brakes, you may get hit in the head by a bread roll projected from the boot behind

Well who would have guessed. Better start changing your username to professorZMANALEX

Looks like an odd gizmo. Got me wondering what it's for too!

Thanks for all the replies. I now know more about Ears and noses. Nasal hair. fingernails and death and Prince Charles .......I will continue to wonder how hair knows what length to grow to once cut though.

Glad it was a simple fix. These simple fixes never work for me. My dash lights were from a failing brake pedal switch. Not long ago my airbag light came on coz of the sensor behind the steering wheel whereas normally its just a wiggle of the connectors under the seat. Oh well......still small niggles in the grand scale of things and insignificant compared to the joy the Zed brings

Stupid phone gave a double post. Apologies and mods feel free to delete one.

My TCS ABS and ESP lights came on again. Happened 12 months ago and forum members pointed me in the direction of the brake light switch. I ordered the part but on giving it a wiggle and a jiggle the problem dissappeared so I just stored the spare part. Well this time no jiggery pokery worked so I changed out the part and the brake ligjts work again and the lights are off. There was no 350z specific video on YouTube but the above link on a Nissan Sentra is almost identical. Hope it helps fellow novices to car diy like me.

My dad has black box fitted as he's retired and never in a rush to get anywhere. He drives a seven seater to ferry around grandchildren etc but still gets monthly reports occasionally warning that despite not speeding his rate of braking or acceleration are starting to put him in a higher risk. If he can inadvertently do this in a 2.5 litre diesal powered seven seater I can only imagine how easily it would be done in a Zed just keeping up with the flow of surrounding traffic. Not trying to say the black boxes are wrong just to be extra gentle with braking/accelerating as well as speed.

How does hair "know" when to stop growing? Hair is dead apart from the root. When you shave it keeps growing. When you shave your mates eyebrows off when he's drunk it grows back..... but not down to his knees, just the original length. Same if you take the hair off your leg ripping off a plaster. Grows back.......but to original length. Same with (ehem) pubes.....wouldn't grow down to your knees needing you to tie them in a pony tail Anyone know the answer?   Â

Congratulations on the Zed. We all love pics so post some up when you get a chance.

Welcome to the OC. After 10 years of ownership I still find myself having a 2nd glance at the zed after I park up. Looks like you will be doing the same

re-setting the Air bag light.......enough is enough !!!
HEADPHONES replied to zebedy's topic in 350Z General
If all the connections are tight it could be the "clock spring" unit behind the steering wheel that has failed. Had mine replaced a few months back. Was about £60 2nd hand and about £30 labour to fit. -
