Will370z
It is a known issue fodder but there is are 2 work arounds 1. set force feedback to zero and you will get the sound, but obviously this impacts fun with no feedback 2. Plug the joypad into the xbox via the charging cable and you won't get the sound issue if you brake

Will370z
Yeah it's not ideal suits, but a positive is that are quickly acknowledging the issues and saying are responding. Frame rate takes a hit with a full track and weather effects, also on some specific circuits but they are really pushing the boundary with this one. God knows what the game would have been like if released in November,
marzman
Im getting an odd sound glitch quite often (every race). The engine sounds get quite badly distorted for about 15 seconds. Other than that i've not had too many other issues.
Will370z
Yup they've acknowledge that one too. Rather than give an artificial release date that is totally unrealistic I wish they would just keep quiet and then come out with the game when it's ready. All this, "it will be released in November 2014....... Ah we need another 2 months......ummm to ensure gamers get the experience they deserve we need another month.....it's finally ready......ah wait. We will patch the bugs.....". It's a bit amateurish. What I don't understand though is how some of the decisions made actually passed usability testing. 1. It won't let you out of the controls screen after Reconfiguring keys until all required options are configured, but it won't tell you which of the 40 odd keys need configuring. 2. You cannot quit from a game back to the lobby in multiplayer, exit will close the entire lobby so you have to reinvite. 3. Quiting the options menu leads to a save which takes ages, but hit the xbox button and go back to the game and it immediately jumps out of that page, so it's a glitch. 4. Braking causes a loss of sound 5. Go too far off the Suzuka circuit the screen froze, sound carried on then my xbox rebooted. Never had a serious crash like that before. The list goes one from others on the Internet. However it's bloody good fun and I'm willing to keep persisting as this one has a lot of potential. It's a pity I have to say that, not many other products after purchase do you have to give the benefit of the doubt to, it's like the PC gaming of old and one reason I originally moved to consoles as at least the games were robust. Not so now
Ekona
It's buggy as hell, that's for sure. Zero excuses for this after the delays, it's simply not good enough and proof why crowd funding doesn't work when you've got stuff this ambitious. I was really enjoying this until tonight. Formula Junior is great fun, ramped the difficulty up to 80 and it was just challenging enough, especially in the wet. Then got invited to a couple of historic races... Well, what the hell?! The Escorts have absolutely no grip at all, they're awful to drive no matter what you do. I don't expect them to be pin sharp, but they shouldn't be that bad. Then I got some 190 action, and that seems to be crap too: Slow, understeery rubbish. The 190 thing is odd, as I was playing online with that last night and it was fine, that was my first go with it and I had no issues adjusting at all. When this game is good, it's stunning. When it's not, it's as bad as anything I've ever played.
mouthwash
No problems to report on my PC copy so far... But I've spent more time messing about with the force feedback settings than anything else. I still can't seem to get it right, there is a billion confusing options to tweak.

Thanks for the tips though Will So had the same issue this morning, no USB charge cable used so did a hard reset; still issues with sound, plugged USB charge cable in and all good. Definitely had to do a hard reset last night for it to work. Think it must be a combination of both. Started to turn off some of the aids and make the opponents stronger.... Really enjoying the formula rookie series with dialling up the difficulty. Cold tyres in fog at snetterton was interesting shall we say Edited May 10, 2015 by Fodder
spursmaddave
Frame rate drop when the weather changes mid race is dire man. On XBone? Seems ok on PS4 I did read that they should have limited it to 30fps really Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ekona
If you look at the Digital Foundry comparison vid, both PS4 and Xbone very rarely touch 60fps, most of the time it's closer to 45fps and 30fps with lots of cars and rain. Xbone drops more often (well, so it should!) but neither are great. Truth is, they over-reached and under-delivered on the consoles. In happier news, I sorted out the handling on the 190E last night and I lowered the difficulty back down to 50, and all's good again. I guess I'm just very good with the Formula Junior cars, but not very good with everything else

mouthwash
WTF is with those Escorts... Formula Rookie no problem but those old Escorts? They're like crabs.
Ekona
They're awful, aren't they? They're on crossply tyres, which is why I think they're gash to drive but even so you'd have thought something that old should be relatively fun to chuck around. I hate them, I've finished that championship now thank god. And why would I want to change the FF per car? That should be in the main options and set permanently, not having to use up precious practice and qualy time faffing with it before you can get it sorted. And for some bizarre reason the game sometimes decides to set the gear final ratio to minimum, so if you don't check you end up with 800bhp and a top speed of 98mph
Zedd
Choice of cars is a bit gash, or have I been spoilt by Forza?
Ekona
I thought that at first, but actually they're just about right. Nobody really wants FWD so the token Clios are enough, and road cars aren't much fun either on track when racing so no need for too many of those either. Personally I'd like to see more GT3/GT2 cars, but without the Pork or Fezza licences they're a bit limited.

I notice the AI has no problems cornering like it's on rails in the Escorts. I went on to the 190E next, managed to get 6th place with 80% difficulty but it's pretty damn hard.... I've no idea how to make it easier to go from opposite lock to opposite lock with the G27 either, sometimes it's hard to correct a tiny mistake and ends up being a massive off which in turn makes me a lot slower around the track because I'm being nervous. TT350
Alien Isolation on the PC. Bought a new top end sound card and headphones. Makes this game even more pant poopingly scary. I play with my replica M41A Pulse Rifle next to me. Just in case an Alien sneaks up behind me. I will smack it's chops with it.

Will370z
Ok my mate has found a fix for the handling, tried it on 3 cars and it's now amazing, everything is controllable. We've had bumper to bumper action since. Awesome
chips
I played project cars in game last week. looked really good so was tempted to buy. reviews by you guys back that up too. After looking further into it found ps4 still isn't supporting Logitech Driving force so count me out. I would have got it if it could use the wheel but no way am i buying more crap! I have gt5,6 on the ps3 with the wheel so i'm ok - not that I play them that much lately, it's summer so I've got other stuff on!
