  1. Well silly question then: Is there a film on them? If they’re OEM tinted then I’d strongly suspect they’re legal, if there’s any kind of of film on there then 99% they’d be illegal.
  2. If you only have one intake, then it will fit. For clarity, you do, so it will
  3. Totally get what you mean about being considerate of someone else's car, but as long as you give it time to warm up (and the flat sixes do take a while to get oil temp up in fairness) then it comes down to the fact it's your money you're spending, so by all means test the product properly. You can always get the other person to drive the car first, so they they only hand it over when they're happy it's all warm and ready to go
  4. Having driven the 2.7 without the IMS issue (one of the few modern Porsche engines I don’t actually know the code number for off hand ), albeit in a Boxster rather than Cayman, I tend to agree with you. I preferred the older engine, it seemed a bit more lively, but then the new 2.7 was the only 9x7.2 lump NOT to get direct injection, which I’m guessing is what makes for a radically different feel. Is it slow? No. It is a very different engine to the V6 in the Zed though, and yes you absolutely do have to rev it to make the most of it. The beauty of the Cayman is the chassis though, and how deft the car can feel under you. The 2.7 just needs a different driving style, but after having driven an mx5 for the last couple of months with much less power, I can promise you that the 2.7 is far more capable of overtaking Work the engine and gearbox a bit more, don’t be afraid to use all the revs all the time. Shifting down to where the revs are at 4000rpm is a pleasure, not a chore As an aside, in terms of running costs my 997.2 was cheaper to run than my Zed was, and likewise the 987.2 Cayman R my brother has after his Zed was the same.
  5. I’d take it with an ocean full of salt
  6. Try asking Nissan themselves, but I very much doubt you’ll either get an answer from them nor anyone else here if I’m honest. I’d have a guess at the answer being ‘lots’.
  7. Is that 25 of either towel or umbrella, or does it need to be 25 towels or 25 umbrellas?

    Non Fault Claim

I had a totally at fault accident declared when I was driving someone else's car, and it didn't affect my insurance one bit. Then I had another non-fault claim a couple of years later, no change either.

Aero and a stonking lap in the right conditions with a driver that knows the car exceptionally well. It's less than 4 secs under 7mins, so not exactly well under but I see your point.

That'll be a dry weight, you can easy add in another 150kg for a wet weight. Also, I got the cost of a current R35 wrong apparently, so we can all stop arguing over that now I genuinely thought it was around that, with the Nismo being £150K.
  11. Might be me with two accounts But dude, awesome name!
  12. Nothing wrong with being correct.
  13. Exactly my point, it’s not a 370Z Nice pic though, regardless. Just needs to be in the Other Cars section really
  14. Either I’m being thick, or that’s not remotely a 370Z in that pic.
  15. You know you can do it instantly online now? Putting your private reg on, that is. Or taking it off one car if it’s still on there.

That's the thing: Does the GTR need to be so big? The 911 has more space in the back for passengers, okay it loses out on the boot space, but it's not like it's not tourable. Even things like the 488 have more than enough luggage space, so really could it not be shrunk to lose the weight a bit without going gung-ho on carbon and watching the price skyrocket? Even a boggo C4S weighs 1545kg, and that's got the 4WD/4WS/2+2/6cylTT engine etc. I'm not saying it's remotely comparable to the GTR in anyway (indeed, no-one looking at either car would be considering the opposite most likely!), but it does show that you can do all that without going mental on weight. If they could do the R36 with the hybrid stuff and keep to 1700kg then that would be a success, but then how much more power does it need? Would it really be that much quicker, and would it not then be priced well and truly out of the hands of the ordinary person?

    370Z is silly heavy too

Just imagine how much better a GTR could be if it weighed 1550kg, not 1750kg...

Then why have they made the Nismo versions lighter? We all know that weight is the enemy to dynamics, what the engineer guy said at the start was nonsense to cover up the fact they couldn’t make it any lighter and keep the price down. Now it’s a six-figure car, they can and should try and use more advanced materials to reduce the weight penalty.

Prob end up around 2 ton at this rate!
  21. Hang on a minute chaps, I've just realised that we're in the first week of school holidays... Come back in a year and we'll try again then, if using a generic insurance comparison site is too taxing right now.
  22. Dude, it’s not rocket science. It tells you what you need to do!
  23. As Killick says, just use the GoCompareTheMoneySupermarket sites, put your details in and have a play. It’s as easy as that.
